I told you to plant peas, and you summon Mordekaiser?
Chapter 168 77
"The plan has changed. Let's leave here." Chen Yang said calmly as he walked down the dark corridor.
Huang Aotian casually said, "I'm still hoping those Corpse Cult guys will give me a Qilin Arm."
Then, he asked Chen Yang with a puzzled look, "But I don't understand, why did you suddenly leave? Didn't you say you wanted to investigate the Corpse Cult? Also, why did you bring that little girl with you?"
He raised his hand and pointed behind him.
The little girl was riding on Parker's back, giggling, and following them at a distance.
Chen Yang turned his head to look, then looked away and said in a low voice, "This girl can teleport and has the ability to snatch a dagger from Pike. She might be the Corpse Cult's ultimate weapon."
"So you're planning to let the Corpse Cult's ultimate weapon be kidnapped?"
"What do you mean by 'abducting'? It means taking this little girl to see a bigger world," Chen Yang said, scoffing.
"Moreover, according to her, the Corpse Cult Bishop is an extremely terrifying being, more powerful than I expected."
"If we stay here, we'll be taken to the cult leader sooner or later by that instructor. The risk is too high."
Huang Aotian pondered for a moment and nodded: "That makes sense. Anyway, we've found out where Liu Yan is, so it's good to leave this place."
The group quietly walked through the empty corridor and stepped out of the building's entrance.
The sentries at the entrance stood on both sides, watching Chen Yang and his companion expressionlessly, without making any attempt to stop them.
Behind them, Pike and the little girl also walked out of the building.
The guards at the gate acted as if they hadn't seen them at all, not even glancing at them for a moment.
If you look closely, you'll notice that both Pike and the little girl seem to be covered by a thin, barely perceptible membrane.
They are invisible to the naked eye due to Pyke's abilities.
Once the group had gone some distance, one of the guards frowned and looked up at the sky: "Hey, is it raining?"
The other guard gave him a strange look: "How is that possible? There isn't a single cloud in the sky."
"But I just heard water dripping..." he muttered to himself, his tone filled with confusion.
The city was silent in the dead of night.
The occasional low whistling of the wind sounded like an invisible sigh.
This place, which once belonged to the headquarters of the Southern Military Region, has now become a shadowy area of the Corpse Cult.
In the central square, only a few blurry figures occasionally drifted by like ghosts, disappearing in an instant, as if they did not belong to the human world at all.
Chen Yang and Huang Aotian, both dressed in black robes, walked silently.
Instead of returning to the place the Corpse Cult had arranged for them, they planned to leave directly.
They walked towards the gate through which they had entered during the day.
The stone bricks underfoot were slightly damp, and the night was as dark as ink.
As they approached the exit, the sight there made Huang Aotian frown.
Dozens of black-robed cultists stood guard at the exit, motionless like a group of frozen sculptures.
On the walls, countless enormous zombies roamed, their eyes gleaming with a deathly cold light as they monitored their surroundings.
"How do we get across?" Huang Aotian asked in a low voice.
Chen Yang's gaze remained calm; he simply gestured for him to continue forward.
The two, draped in black robes, seemed to blend into the chilly atmosphere as they walked step by step toward the exit.
Just as they were about to enter the vigilance range of the cultists and zombies, something unexpected happened.
One of the cultists closest to the gate suddenly collapsed to the ground, his body silently covered by a black robe.
Immediately afterwards, one by one, the believers collapsed helplessly.
The zombies on the city wall followed closely behind, their massive bodies crashing heavily to the ground.
Chen Yang and Huang Aotian continued walking towards the gate without stopping.
A thin layer of water inexplicably appeared on the ground, and the cold, damp sensation spread through the air.
"Is it Parker?" Huang Aotian asked softly, beads of sweat appearing on his forehead.
Chen Yang did not answer, but nodded slightly, his eyes cold and wary.
A faint, deep, and lingering sound of waves could be heard in the surrounding air.
Then, giggles broke the deathly silence of the night.
The laughter was light and cheerful, yet it carried a chilling undertone.
"Brothers, you're walking too slowly!"
Chen Yang looked ahead and saw a little girl standing outside the gate, wearing a black robe, with a bright smile on her face under the hood.
Parker rubbed the dagger in his hand, blood dripping down.
Chen Yang felt a chill run down his spine; he knew that all the sentry posts at the city gate had been eliminated.
Huang Aotian took a deep breath and followed Chen Yang, passing through the silently falling cultists and zombies, towards the exit.
The little girl's laughter echoed in the air, like an eerie melody, accompanying them as they left the Corpse Cult headquarters.
That night, by the time the Corpse Cult members noticed something amiss, Chen Yang and his group had already vanished into the boundless wilderness.
The night wind murmured softly in the wilderness.
The four of them rode on the back of the Lexus at high speed.
Parker wasn't taken back by Chen Yang, not because Chen Yang didn't want to, but because the little girl insisted that Parker stay with her.
There was no other way, so he could only let Pike stay with them for the time being.
The little girl looked around with curiosity, interested in everything she saw, as if she had never been to the outside world before.
Chen Yang looked at the child in the black robe and sighed inwardly.
Unexpectedly, this strange little girl so easily followed them away from the Corpse Cult headquarters.
Chen Yang realized he didn't know the little girl's name, so he turned and asked, "Little girl, what's your name?"
The little girl swung her legs, looked at the wilderness, and casually replied, "My name is Qiqi. The Qi of one, two, three, four."
"Seven Seven?" Chen Yang raised an eyebrow slightly.
Weird name.
The little girl giggled and then said, "Because I'm number seven."
"Number seven?" Chen Yang pondered. "Are there other numbers?"
The little girl kept smiling as she gazed at the boundless night sky in the distance.
"It used to exist."
"I have many, many brothers and sisters. We play together and sleep together."
She looked up at the wilderness, a landscape she had never seen before, and a bright smile appeared on her face: "But later, I was all alone."
