HP: The Root of Everything - The Magician
Chapter 41 Tom Riddle
During the meal, Teach Carl felt a strange force trying to control him and invade his mind.
Without a doubt, Teach knew it was the Horcrux notebook that was responsible.
But to His regret, Teach's unwavering materialistic will, honed through his journey in magic, was not so easily invaded or shaken.
With a sense of scorn for Tom Riddle in his notebook, Teach slowly finished his lunch and returned to his magic office workshop. There, sitting at his desk, pen in hand, he pondered how to greet Tom.
A few minutes later, Teach put pen to paper.
He drew a training circle in his notebook, a training circle that could be used for 'human creation'.
Having seen the movie in his past life, Teach Carl understood what Tom in the Horcrux wanted: he wanted a body, he wanted a new life, and he didn't want to just be a memory and a part of the soul that Voldemort had extracted from his youth.
Everyone desires freedom, even those who are merely remnants of a soul without a physical form.
Therefore, this array that could be used to refine human bodies was extremely attractive to Tom Riddle.
During Teach Carr's public lecture, when Ginny Weasley copied the Knowledge Extraction Divination Circle onto the Horcrux Notebook, Tom discovered through research that this magical divination circle could achieve his goal of rebirth.
But he is merely a remnant of memories within a notebook. Without anyone writing in it, he cannot communicate with people or perceive the outside world. So he is waiting, waiting until he can almost perfectly control the little wizard Ginny, and then he will control Ginny to deliver the notebook (himself) to Teach Carl.
After Teach finished drawing the human body training circle, the notebook immediately absorbed the ink, and then... Teach waited at his desk for a long time before Tommy displayed the text of their interaction.
He greeted me politely, "Hello, Mr. Teach Carr," and then said nothing more.
This made Teach laugh out loud: "Does this Tom Riddle think I'm as easy to seduce as some silly little wizard? He thinks he can pique my curiosity and get me to keep writing just by saying hello, and then I have to ask him how he knows my name?"
How naively foolish!
So Teach put down his pen, intending to just wait it out with Tom in the notebook.
Clearly, Tom, obsessed with newborn bodies, couldn't afford to waste time. He initiated a conversation, "Mr. Carl, the array you wrote down is incredibly magical, but it seems incomplete... I think I can help you finish it."
'As long as you can write down more of your knowledge about this formation, I can help you complete it.'
Teach looked at Tom's words in the notebook, wrote a big 'NO' with his pen, and also wrote words of doubt and mockery. Tom Riddle could not tolerate such humiliation, so in anger, he appeared directly in Teach's mind and calmly said to Teach, suppressing his anger, "Mr. Carl, I can..."
In the mental imagery, before Tom could finish speaking, Teach Carr used a teleportation spell to close the distance, then activated a powerful magic spell on his arm, lifting Tom Ridley up completely. He then sneered, "Foolish Tom, I didn't expect a human transmutation circle with such obvious flaws to lure you out."
"If you don't show yourself, I really can't catch you; I have absolutely no way to deal with you."
"But the very act of you appearing in my mind is your biggest mistake."
"With your future potential to become Voldemort, can't you see that this human transmutation array can only create a human shell? Although the shell has flesh and blood, there is no life force within the cells."
"Even if you merge your remnant soul into it, your body will only transform from a cold 'dead thing' into a 'corpse'."
Upon hearing Teach's words, Tom Riddle instantly became terrified and struggled in Teach's grasp, asking, "Who are you? Who are you really?"
"How could you know I existed? How could you know I would become Voldemort?"
"What...what is your purpose in luring me out here?"
Hearing these questions, Teach tightened his grip on Tom's hand, then tilted his head and said, "Purpose? To be honest, I really don't have any purpose for you, a remnant soul. You're just a piece of trash to me with absolutely no value."
"It's like... something that's useless to keep but a pity to throw away."
"Originally, I planned to be an observer, a cicada stalking a cicada, but I didn't expect you to have willingly delivered yourself into my hands. So, I'll play along and assume you have ulterior motives, and ask you a question."
"Tell me, what is the snake language phrase to open the secret room?"
[Parseltongue? Why would he open the secret chamber? To unleash the Basilisk to kill Muggles? Isn't this guy a Muggle without magic himself?] Tom Riddle thought to himself, but then he remembered the transmutation circle he had copied from Ginger and discovered that magic could extract transmutation from anything.
[Magic...refining...transformation...forging...] Tom understood, and said to Teach, "So, you wanted to get the basilisk's eyes to forge what you wanted."
"Haha, you call me stupid? I say you're the stupid one! You think you can make me submit just by capturing me in your mind? Let me tell you, as long as the Horcrux Notebook exists, I am immortal!"
Under Teach Carr's icy gaze, Tom taunted, "Come and kill me, come and strangle me, you lowly mudblood."
Amidst the shouting, Teach Carr exerted force and instantly snapped Tom Riddle's neck. But then, Tommy's figure slowly faded in Teach's hand and disappeared.
After Tom disappeared, Teach's gaze returned to reality, and then he saw a sentence written in the Horcrux notebook: 'Teach Carl, no one can call me trash, no one can call me stupid, and even without you, I will be reborn. Just you wait.'
“Ha~ just childish threats left behind by a loser on his way out,” Teach said, completely unconcerned about the threats Tom Riddle had written.
But then Teach Carl became troubled. He hadn't obtained Parseltongue, and the Horcrux Notebook was still in his possession. So how was he going to open the secret room? [So, the only solution is to follow the movie plot: have Ginny regain possession of the notebook and then open the secret room?]
[Sigh, I can't think of a solution for now, but at least the laptop is with me and won't run away.]
After giving up decisively, Teach Carr put on a dark red trench coat and went out.
Night had fallen, and it was time for the professors to patrol Hogwarts.
Just an hour after Teach left, the teleportation array connecting the girls' dormitory in the corner lit up. Hermione peeked inside the teleportation array and only climbed out completely after confirming that her teacher Teach was not there.
Hermione's behavior in the office was quite surprising...
She first lay on her teacher Teach's bed and dozed off for a while, giggling. Half an hour later, she got up, stood quietly by the magic experiment table, and imagined herself as Teach Carl in her mind. Then she began her magic research in her imagination.
Finally, he sat at his desk, crossed his arms, and began to pretend to think, mimicking Teach's thoughtful manner.
Hermione is imitating; she is imitating her teacher.
I never imagined that Teach Carr had such a profound influence on Hermione.
After the imitation was over, Hermione's face was flushed. Just as she was about to leave, her eyes were suddenly drawn to a black notebook.
Hermione opened the notebook; it was completely blank.
