HP: The Root of Everything - The Magician
Chapter 2 Family Inheritance
Hagrid, with his unshaven face, was taking Harry Potter, who had just turned eleven, to Diagon Alley to buy supplies for his Hogwarts studies.
They didn't notice Teach Carr, who was only 1.8 meters tall, in front of them.
Seeing Hagrid's massive body about to crash into him, Teach automatically moved aside defensively.
Just as Hagrid and Harry Potter were about to walk away, Teach quickly snapped out of his shock at having his worldview shattered over the past seventeen years and called out, "Um... excuse me, what is that 'wand' you were talking about earlier?"
"Is it a new children's toy from a toy company?"
Teach certainly knew what a wand was and what Harry Potter represented, but he was certain that he was an ordinary person, a Muggle who had no connection with magic.
Because when he was eleven years old, Teach Carr did not receive any letters from owls.
Of course, Teach never knew that this world was a magical world. Nor did he ever imagine that such a world existed.
Hagrid stopped in his tracks at the sudden question, instinctively shielding young Harry Potter behind him. After mentally reviewing Teach's question, he hastily offered an excuse, "Ah, right, that wand is just a toy."
"Sir, would you like to buy one for your child? I suggest you go to the toy store and take a look; you might be able to find one there."
After saying that, Hagrid smiled awkwardly, nodded goodbye to Teach, and led Harry Potter onward.
Watching the two figures disappear from sight, Teach really wanted to chase after them. But then she thought, what could she do if she did? Get hit by a 'Forgetfulness Curse'?
The Muggle Dispel Charm is incredibly effective on a Muggle like him.
Seventeen years of societal values were challenged by the Harry Potter fairy tales of my past life. Can anyone understand this feeling?
Teach stared at the road where Hagrid and Harry Potter were no longer there, and stood there for a long, long time.
It wasn't until the sound of trams on the road that Teach snapped out of her daze.
He let out a very long sigh: "Sigh... this England... it's actually the England from Harry Potter."
[Aren't fairy tales supposed to be lies? Then what about the big and small people who just brushed past me?]
[Hehe, what have I missed in these past seventeen years?]
No matter how much he thinks or how much he regrets, it's useless. Teach Carl has no magic, so even if he wants to go, he can't go to the world of magic.
Fortunately, Teach, having lived two lives, is mature and has a good attitude towards regrets that cannot be undone: "[I should just buy a train ticket home quickly. There's nothing to regret. The world of assassins can be just as exciting.]"
After another six hours of bumpy train ride, Teach arrived safely in the town of Göshère.
Teach's foster mother, Maggie, was already waiting for her son's return at the convent gate. Seeing that Teach was unharmed, she stepped forward with relief and embraced him, saying, "Welcome home safely, my child."
"You must be exhausted. Go and get some sleep and rest."
......
When I woke up, it was already noon the next day, which was September 1st.
Today is the day Harry Potter boards the Hogwarts Express.
Today also marks the eighteenth year since Teach Carl came into this world.
"Happy birthday, Teach," Maggie said as Teach entered the living room, lighting the candles on the cake.
"Thank you, Mother, thank you for your love over the past eighteen years," Teach said, blowing out the candles and making a wish: "May my mother, Maggie, always be healthy and forever young."
After a moment of emotion, Ma Qi took out a gift box: "Teach, this is your birthday present. I hope you won't refuse it."
"Refusal? What does that mean?" Teach was puzzled by her foster mother Maggie's words, and only understood them after she opened the package.
Inside the gift box was a letter.
The letter stated that Teach Carr should return to the family to be recognized and to inherit the estate.
When Teach looked at him questioningly, Machi shrugged. "Yes, it's just as the letter said. Your family has found you."
"And you must go back quickly, your father doesn't have much time left."
"Karl's personal lawyer is waiting in the monastery's main hall. After you finish the cake, pack up and go back to meet your family."
The most important coming-of-age ceremony of their lives was spent in Teach and Machi's dullness.
Finally, urged by Maggie, Teach reluctantly got into the lawyer's car.

The Karl family, in an ancient castle.
Teach's father, Croton Carr, who was nearing the end of his life, was being pushed into the council chamber by his maid in a wheelchair, dealing with the merchants who had come multiple times to try and buy his inheritance.
“Mr. Croton, please forgive my bluntness, but as far as I know, you have no children and no heir. Your Karl family’s vast fortune will be seized by the state after your death.”
"Instead of doing that, it would be better to sell your assets to our company. That would be the right choice that maximizes your benefits."
"Of course, the price will absolutely satisfy you."
Croton listened impatiently to the merchant's words, a surge of anger rising within him at the despicable merchant who was eyeing his family's inheritance, causing him to cough violently.
After handing the bloodstained handkerchief to the maid, Lawton said with disgust, "The wealth accumulated by my Karl family over hundreds of years will not be allowed to be stolen by outsiders, so please leave."
"Even if there are no heirs, I will take my property to the afterlife."
The merchant was politely ushered out of the castle by the steward.
The attempt to purchase the item failed once again.
Upon arriving at the castle gate, a merchant couldn't help but shout, "Mr. Oss, why don't you give this ungrateful Muggle a 'Perseus' spell?"
Upon hearing this, Os frowned and said sternly, "Do you think I don't want to give him a go?"
"But this Croton Carr is no ordinary Muggle. He's a researcher in the British scientific research department. Do you think I can just cast a spell on someone like that?"
"You're a newly promoted Auror, and you might not know this yet..."
"We in the magical world have the Ministry of Magic, and the Muggle world also has a similar department, namely the 'Anti-Magic Agency'."
"You should know that the British Prime Minister and some government officials are aware of the existence of magic."
"Because they know this, the Prime Minister will specifically hire some wizards to protect important personnel."
At this point, the newcomer understood, but still somewhat unwillingly asked, "Does this mean that our Ministry of Magic's plan to acquire the Carl family's assets is just going to have to be abandoned like this?"
“No, of course not,” Oss shook his head. “Didn’t Mr. Croton tell us that if there are no heirs, the inheritance should be taken to the grave?”
"When the time comes, we'll just go to his grave to look for it."
Just as Oss was discussing inheritance strategies with his subordinates, the lawyer arrived at the castle with Teach Carl.
The lawyer got out of the car and strode up to Os, his face grim as he warned, "Mr. Os, this isn't the magical world managed by your Ministry of Magic. This is England, where everything is protected by national law."
“Your attempt to steal the Carl family’s inheritance will not succeed, because… I have found the rightful heir, Mr. Teach Carl.”
Tichy, who was sitting in the car, got out a step later than the lawyer. His senses, sharpened by training, allowed him to overhear their conversation from inside the car.
[Ministry of Magic? Legacy?]
How could the inheritance of an ordinary family be coveted by a wizard?
