HP: The Root of Everything - The Magician
Chapter 17 Application to Hogwarts
Let's leave aside the shell company issue for now, because it only works on Teach Carl. He killed two Auror wizards, so he'll still be hunted down.
Teach wouldn't naively believe that killing Nicole and the others wouldn't be investigated by the Ministry of Magic.
In order to avoid being found, the first thing to do is to leave the crime scene.
The important teleportation spell was complete. Teach hadn't yet decided which magical creature's ability to extract for his next spell, so he started the plane and flew away from the Dark Forest in the magical world back to the real world.
Upon returning, Teach did not visit March in the hospital, but instead left London for their safety.
After that, Teach was homeless, moving from place to place in less than half a month.
During this time, he tirelessly studied the knowledge in the magic book.
Sigrún has taught at the Iceland University of the Arts as a part-time lecturer since and was Dean of the Department of Fine Art from -. In – she held a research position at Reykjavík Art Museum focusing on the role of women in Icelandic art. She studied fine art at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and at Pratt Institute, New York, and holds BA and MA degrees in art history and philosophy from the University of Iceland. Sigrún lives and works in Iceland.
Half a year passed quietly as Teach evaded the Ministry of Magic's hunting wizards and fought back.
And Teach has turned 19.
While on the run, Teach was studying magic and searching for a safe place to hide away from the Ministry of Magic, but after thinking it over, he realized that only Hogwarts, under the protection of Albus Dumbledore, could be considered safe.
Hogwarts School of Magic is not under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Magic.
Moreover, Dumbledore would not allow power to encroach upon the sacred magic school where he teaches and nurtures students.
However, finding a legitimate way to enter Hogwarts was a huge challenge, and Teach didn't think he could sneak in right under Dumbledore's nose.
Impersonating a student won't work either; Hogwarts only has a couple of thousand junior wizards. With such a small number, Teach would be easily recognized if he tried to impersonate a student.
After much thought, Teach could only come up with one solution.
That is, on top of his identity as an Auror in the Ministry of Magic, he would fabricate another identity out of thin air, and then use this identity to legitimately enter Hogwarts.
Think and act...
Teach started the plane after a long absence, returning to the magical world after more than half a year.
Teach's destination this time is Diagon Alley, the legendary place in Harry Potter. He's going there to buy a magically modified owl and then write a letter to Hogwarts.
Teach had considered intercepting a magical owl and transforming it into his own magical familiar using a transmutation circle, but magical owls are very recognizable, and Teach Carl, whose owl already had an owner, dared not let it deliver messages to wizards.
Teach has no magic, so he can't get into Diagon Alley from the Broken Axe pub in London. He can only find the location of Diagon Alley as told by the Auror wizard who was torturing him.
Diagon Alley is not located behind the wall of the Broken Axe pub in London, but in some other hidden place in the wizarding world.
This Diagon Alley is simply connected to the Broken Axe bar by a door key.
After flying for an hour or two above the wizarding world, thousands of meters in the sky, Teach finally arrived above Diagon Alley. Confirming he hadn't gone to the wrong place, Teach landed his plane in a forest, then took a wizard's robe he'd stolen from an Auror, draped it over his shoulders, and swaggered into Diagon Alley.
There's nothing particularly special about Diagon Alley; it's basically the same as in the movies—very medieval, but also very lively.
Because the Hogwarts students have finished their semester and are now on holiday.
This bustling atmosphere is caused by young wizards playing in Diagon Alley and some wizards selling magical items.
Teach wandered around the streets for a while, broadening his horizons, and then obtained the location of the shops selling magical creatures by asking some 'silly' little wizards.
After giving 10 Galleons to the enthusiastic boss, Teach received a very ordinary-looking owl.
Teach didn't bother to give the owl a name, because to him it was simply a living tool, a tool to achieve his purpose.
Once the goal is achieved, Teach will sell it to recoup its value, without caring whether it lives or dies.
Magicians, after all, are materialists.
After acquiring the owl, Teach went to Gringotts Wizarding Bank, where he needed some magical materials for his magical research, which required a large sum of money.
In Gringotts, the ugly elf on the counter caught Teach's attention. He thought to himself, "This is also a magical creature. I wonder what kind of results I would get if I dissected and refined it."
But this idea can only be thought about at this stage. Teach knows clearly that he does not yet have enough power to capture magical creatures with human intelligence: [This is a hornet's nest, and we can't stir it up now].
Then, Teach's thoughts began to wander again.
In his past life, Teach knew that a 'dragon' was imprisoned in Gringotts' vault, and he dreamed of stealing the dragon and turning it into a familiar.
Dragon knight, what man wouldn't want that?
As Teach was lost in thought, the clinking of a stack of gold coins pulled him back to reality. He saw an elf placing the exchanged Galleons on the table, staring at Teach Karl with a puzzled look in his eyes, which were occasionally gleaming.
Teach realized he was daydreaming, so he nonchalantly picked up the Galleons from the bag and walked away.
Most of the materials needed for magic tricks are not available in Diagon Alley, so Teach walked through the long, dark, and deep alley to Knockdown Alley.
Knockout Alley was full of wandering wizards and dark wizards, but these posed no threat to Teach.
Rather, it's more accurate to say that Teach desperately wanted some ignorant dark wizards to attack and rob him, giving him a legitimate reason to fight back.
After all, the emeralds used to activate the training array were becoming insufficient under Teach's use.
To Teach's disappointment, not a single wizard bothered him after he finished buying the materials. Bored, Teach found a wizard's inn in Diagon Alley and stayed there for the time being.
In the room, Teach began writing a letter to Hogwarts.
The letter stated the following...
He said: Teach Carr was a wizard who was almost a Squib, but he did not give up his love and pursuit of magic. However, he still gained nothing despite his efforts, but even so he did not give up.
So, in search of magic, he left his hometown and went abroad. There, he came into contact with a kind of magical knowledge that was no less than magic itself. After being taught by a personal 'magic mentor,' he has already mastered it.
After returning home, he obtained a vacant, unemployed position at the Ministry of Magic.
The reason for writing this letter was to ask Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, for the sake of knowledge, to allow him, a person who sincerely seeks knowledge, to enter Hogwarts.
After Teach Carr finished writing the letter, he had it delivered by an owl.
I received a reply a day later.
The letter was written by Dumbledore himself...
The letter stated: "Our school is very honored to have received Mr. Teach Carr's approval. Dumbledore has agreed to Teach's request to study at Hogwarts and stated that he looks forward to Teach Carr's arrival on September 1st, the start of the school season."
Teach hadn't expected that Dumbledore, Britain's greatest white wizard of the day, would so easily agree to his application.
But after thinking about it, Teach felt the real reason was Dumbledore's curiosity about magic.
Faced with entirely new knowledge, no accomplished person can resist it.
