HP: The Root of Everything - The Magician
Chapter 123 Hippogriff
In a classroom on the edge of the Forbidden Forest, Hagrid introduced the astonished young wizards to the habits, habitat, and protection of the Hippogriff, a magical creature.
Hagrid's introduction is very detailed, much more detailed than the knowledge recorded in the book.
Although this knowledge was insignificant and of no use to magic, it still greatly benefited Teach and Hermione.
After the introduction, Hagrid began to teach the young wizards how to interact with this magical creature.
First and foremost, we must have sufficient respect and awe for it.
Perhaps this hippogriff is related to the mythical griffin, which is why this creature has an innate arrogance and does not allow anyone or anything to despise it.
Hagrid asked who wanted to be the first to try touching 'Buckbuck', and Hermione raised her hand without hesitation, saying, "Me! Me! Nobody can take it from me!"
Under Hagrid's guidance, Hermione and Buckbeak stand facing each other.
During their face-to-face eye contact, Hermione had a feeling.
Then Hermione felt a sense of awe for Buckbeak and slowly bowed to him.
As Buckbeak bowed, it seemed to sense Hermione's awe of it, so it took a few steps forward, bent its forelegs slightly, and lowered its proud eagle head.
After they bowed to each other, Hagrid beamed with joy upon seeing that Hermione had received Buckbeak's approval.
He then spoke up, gesturing, "Little Hermione, go touch it, don't be afraid~ be brave."
But Hermione didn't follow Professor Hagrid's suggestion in a conventional way. Instead, she went straight to Buckbeak's side and jumped onto Buckbeak's back.
Hermione whispered in Buckbeak's ear, her voice leaving no room for argument: "Fly, take me flying, take me flying freely."
"From the first moment I saw you, I sensed your repression. You don't belong to the ground; you belong to the sky."
At first, Buckbeak was furious at Hermione's abrupt act of mounting him without warning.
But then Hermione uttered the words, "You belong to the sky," which seemed to possess a magical power, instantly dispelling Buckbeak's anger. Buckbeak then spread his wings and ran as Hermione commanded.
Fly, fly freely.
Buckbeak, the hippogriff, carried Hermione on its back and flew into the sky.
The vast black lake nestled between the mountains appeared tiny at Hermione's feet.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry shrank in Hermione's sight.
Under Hermione's command, Bucky Barnacles kept flying upwards, soaring into the sky, spreading its wings and flying high without any restraint.
Hermione whispered to Buckbeak high in the sky, "Don't worry about being seen by Muggles, don't worry about being photographed by human satellites."
"Forget Hagrid's hidden protection of you, forget his safety warnings to you, I want you to fly, I want you to show your most primal nature and instincts, fly beyond the sky."
As it soared higher and higher, reaching ever higher into the sky, Buckbeak involuntarily let out a cry that resounded across the heavens and the earth.
At that moment, Buckbeak, without Hermione's command, flew vigorously toward the sky, sensing that if it could fly out of the sky, it could regain its original freedom.
The cry of the eagle echoed throughout Hogwarts, reaching the ears of everyone in the castle.
The cry of the eagle reached Hagrid and the young wizards, shaking their very souls.
That eagle's cry also shook Teach Carl to his core.
At this moment, Teach interrupted Hagrid, who was gazing at the sky with a puzzled expression, and asked with unusual excitement, "Hagrid, please tell me, is this hippogriff named Buckbeak the only one of its kind?"
Hagrid seemed a little puzzled by the question, but still replied, "Let me think... it seems like there's only one of its kind in the world!"
Teach asked again, asking many questions about the hippogriff.
I learned that this magical creature appeared out of nowhere and at some unknown time, and that it had no herd, only a single individual.
Amidst the exclamations of the young wizards, Teach used his flight magic to take off rapidly, chasing after Hermione high in the sky.
"Wow~ Professor Hagrid, did you see that? Professor Carl is flying...!"
The young wizards were all amazed that Teach could fly without a broomstick; even Hagrid found this incredible.
Even someone as powerful as Dumbledore, and even the four great founders of Hogwarts, could not fly like Teach.
Teach cast a protective spell on himself and, braving the air pressure from the rapid flight, caught up with Hermione after a few breaths.
Looking around, Hermione was drawing something on Buckbeak's back and neck.
Teach stepped forward and saw that it was a complex 'biotransformation array', but unfortunately it was incomplete.
When Hermione saw Ms. Teach arrive, she hurriedly cried out for help, "Ms. Teach, please help me!"
Teach understood what Hermione meant by "help," so without asking why, he completed Hermione's creature training array.
During the completion process, Buckbeak had already taken Hermione into the sky.
The sun shone down from the sky, bathing Buckbeak in golden sunlight. A cry of an eagle expressed its current comfort and liberation from the constraints of its mind.
The thin air made it extremely difficult for the master and apprentice to breathe. Just when they were about to suffocate, Teach finally completed the inscription of the creature's training array.
Teach then grabbed Hermione, who was already losing consciousness, and pulled her down to a lower altitude.
When Teach descended above the clouds, his breathing became easier, and Hermione also inhaled enough oxygen to regain consciousness.
"Hermione, have you discovered something?"
"Yes, teacher, you know that my analysis and training array is of the 'life' category, so when I saw Buckbeak, this winged beast with a hippogriff's head, I vaguely sensed the incongruity of it as a living being."
"It's as if something within it was imprisoned, so I wanted to use a bio-training array to release that restriction."
After saying that, Hermione, who had taken flight on her own, opened her blinking eyes and asked her teacher, Teach, "Teacher, did you also discover something, which is why you chased after me?"
Teach flicked Hermione on the forehead, thinking to himself with displeasure: "Sometimes, it's not good for a disciple to be too smart."
"Little Hermione, do you know about the 'griffin,' a legendary mythical creature?"
Upon hearing this question, Hermione exclaimed incredulously, "Teacher, you mean... Buckbeak is a mythical griffin? That can't be right, it's mythical!"
“Whether it is or not, we’ll find out soon enough,” Teach said, his eyes fixed on the hippogriff bathed in golden sunlight.
