Ravende Black looked down at Edmund Celestio, who could barely stand, with a displeased expression.

Before Edmund Celestio could react, Ravend Black kicked him hard, sending him flying along with his scepter.

The once high and mighty king was now in such a sorry state, kicked to the ground by Ravend Black and rolling around, his hands no longer able to hold the scepter, which symbolized wealth and power, lying there to the side.

The scepter wasn't too far from Edmund Celestio, and he stretched out his hand with difficulty, imagining grasping the scepter.

But then I felt a sharp pain in my hand and couldn't move it at all.

It turned out that Ravend Black had caught up and stomped hard on Edmund Celestio's outstretched hand, spinning his toes and rubbing them together.

Edmund Celestio cried out in pain, for when had the high and mighty king ever been treated like this?

The culprit behind all of this is none other than the Archbishop of the Demonic Order, Ravend Black!

Despite the excruciating pain in his hand, Edmund Celestio glared at Ravend Black with resentment.

This made Ravend Black look at this incompetent and brutal ruler with newfound respect.

"Although he made a mess of the country, he was surprisingly quite principled."

Ravend Black revealed an expression of great interest: "Instead of begging for mercy, you'll beg me to spare your life? And you even dare to look at me like that?"

Edmund Celestio was speechless, not only because his hands were being repeatedly crushed underfoot, but also because he was so badly injured in the previous battle that there was not a single unscathed spot on his body.

But his resolute gaze, filled with unwavering resentment that had never faded, had already spoken the answer in place of words.

“Ah, I see.” Ravende Black seemed to have lost interest in torturing Edmund Celestio any longer and released his foot.

Of course, they couldn't just let Edmund Celestio go like that.

Ravend Black muttered to himself, "Stop the guards and the generals from fighting. Skin him alive, one by one."

Edmund Celestio was shocked, his face contorted, but he still couldn't utter a word.

Ravend Black is gone, but Edmund Celestio's scepter, now without support, can no longer stand.

Just as Revend Black said, the guards and generals, who were already bloodthirsty and ready to fight to the death, stopped fighting and moved closer and closer to Edmund Celestio!

The rest is up to the grunts. Letting an eighth-tier professional die under the grunts' thousand cuts should be more to Tata Kai's liking, right?

Ravend Black went to treat the chief of staff.

Having withstood a devastating blow from Edmund Celestio's peak eighth-tier Starburst attack, the Chief of Staff is now in a half-dead state; without treatment, he will surely die.

The chief of staff would have been absolutely unable to withstand this attack; he would have been engulfed by the stellar explosion, and at best, he would have been able to leave behind a few body parts.

Edmund Celestio will also break through the encirclement successfully because the Chief of Staff's side has lost the obstruction of the eighth-tier professionals, making it difficult to catch up next.

But all of this is based on the premise that the chief of staff does not use the powers granted by the demon.

Cultists of the same demonic order will acquire similar, almost identical, abilities from the demons they worship.

However, the higher the cultist's rank, the greater the demonic power they receive, and the more adept they are at wielding it.

Cultists of the War and Conflict faction of the Demonic Order generally possess the ability to absorb power from the blood around them (blood that has seeped out due to injury, or at least from a wound, which cannot pass through the skin).

The blood sword that Ravend Black suddenly grasped was formed from the accumulation of blood energy.

This is the most basic manifestation of the demonic power of the demon Tartakai, a demon of war and strife. Archbishop Ravend Black, the chief of staff, can certainly use it, and the effect is much better.

The downside is that the power extracted from the blood in the surrounding environment is limited; once the power is exhausted, other cultists will have nothing left to absorb.

Realizing that Edmund Celestio had suddenly changed his target and was now attacking the Chief of Staff, Ravend Black knew he couldn't save him in time, so he released his grip on the Blood Sword.

The extraction and transfer of blood energy can be much faster than if Ravend Black himself ran over to provide rescue.

So Ravend Black voluntarily relinquished control, handing over the blood's energy to the Chief of Staff for his own use.

The chief of staff instantly took control of the energy and used it to create a blood shield, barely managing to survive the stellar explosion, though he was on the verge of death.

The cultists of the War and Conflict faction have another ability: simply put, the lower their health, the higher their damage; they can't play unless they're low on health.

The more severe the injury, the greater the increase in demonic power; the near-death state is when cultists of war and conflict factions are at their strongest.

However, at this point, the cult members themselves will be very vulnerable, since they are on the verge of death, have high attack power, and are almost defenseless.

Edmund Celestio rushed to the chief of staff, trying to break through the encirclement, only to be punched hard by the chief of staff.

The weak protective barrier, which hadn't been painstakingly constructed, was forced to withstand the strongest attack from an eighth-tier professional, so this was bound to happen.

But does this mean Edmund Celestio made the wrong choice? Shouldn't he have chosen to break through from the Chief of Staff?

In reality, no matter who Edmund Celestio chooses as his point of attack, the Blood Shield can instantly block fatal attacks, so changing the point of attack is pointless.

The only way to break through the encirclement is to try and take a chance on the chief of staff who is in a weakened state. If they were to face a fully-equipped eighth-tier professional, it would be even more impossible to break through.

Edmund Celestio is already in a hopeless situation; no matter what choice he makes, his fate is certain death.

Ravend Black approached the chief of staff, chanting an incantation as he prepared to treat him.

Instantly, Ravend Black's pupils contracted sharply.

Because he sensed the fluctuations of magic!

The magical fluctuations did not originate from Edmund Celestio; Revend Black knew he was too weak to unleash a single attack.

Where does that magical fluctuation come from?

Without a second thought, Ravend Black made a quick decision, rushing to the Chief of Staff and blocking the fatal blow for him.

The attack was too sudden. If it weren't for Ravend Black's quick reaction and timely arrival, the Chief of Staff... would have lost a bishop.
