Quick Transmigration System: Host, Please Calm Down

Chapter 175 Where Did the Zombies Escape To? (3)

Gao Xing sat by the fire, holding Gao Yan in her arms, and fed him milk.

Zhou Yang stared at the fire for a moment, then winked at Pan Yang: "Is this child your sister?"

Gao Xing was pleased to hear Zhou Yang mention her, and looked at Pan Yang, who shook his head: "I picked her up on the road."

Zhou Yang nodded thoughtfully, then moved closer to Huan Yang and leaned against him: "I'm scared to sleep alone, can I sleep next to you?"

“Okay.” Pan Yang glanced at Zhou Yang, took out bread and bottled water from his backpack and handed them to him.

Zhou Yang grinned and took the bread and water: "Thank you! You must be a really good person, and you're good-looking too."

He rolled his eyes: "Do you have someone you like?" It should be described as "like," he thought, but he couldn't quite remember.

"Yes," Pan Yang replied without hesitation.

A flicker of emotion crossed Zhou Yang's stern face: "Who is it? Are you going to find him too? Is it a boy or a girl?"

"Boy, you don't need to look for someone, you are him."

Zhou Yang blinked: "Really?"

"real."

“Then I like you too.” Zhou Yang nodded in satisfaction.

After a night, the fire went out, and Pan Yang woke Gao Xing up. The group continued on their way.

Strangely, we didn't see a single zombie along the way, as if they had all been wiped out.

After driving for most of the day, we encountered a group of soldiers. The military vehicles were carrying a group of people who were resting and regrouping.

Pan Yang stopped some distance away, as he was getting tired from driving for so long.

Gao Xing carried Gao Yan to Pan and said, "Brother, my little brother is so hot."

Pan Yang looked at the child and saw that Gao Yan's face was red. Pan Yang touched Gao Yan's forehead and took a step back in alarm. Damn, this kid is going to get a hard time.

001 was speechless: "Gao Yan has a fever, if it doesn't go down soon the child will become mentally disabled!"

Pan Yang rummaged through his personal space and found a few packets of fever reducers, tossing them to Gao Xing: "Feed him these."

Gao Xing, without a second thought, rushed over and gave Gao Yan the fever-reducing medicine.

A moment later, a soldier approached. He looked upright and said, "Hello, my surname is Fang. I noticed you have some medicine here. Can we trade some food for it?"

Pan Yang took out medicine from his spatial storage and gave it to him.

The squad leader breathed a sigh of relief. He had been worried that the man would be difficult to talk to. He quickly went back to fetch a bucket of water and a bag of biscuits, said thank you, and left with the medicine.

As soon as the formation returned, several women gathered around him, glancing at Fan Yang's direction from time to time.

A moment later, a woman in her fifties came over and said, "Young man, could you give me some baby formula? I have a child over there too."

Pan Yang glanced over there and saw several middle-aged women still secretly looking in their direction. He didn't see any baby, but there was a boy who looked about seven or eight years old.

"No." Pan Yang refused without hesitation. He wasn't a saint or a philanthropist, so why should he give them the milk powder?

The woman immediately became unhappy upon hearing this, and her initial fake smile vanished: "What's wrong with giving me some milk powder? My grandson wants some. Don't people know how to help in this apocalyptic world?"

"An eight-year-old drinking formula?" Pan Yang glanced at her. Honestly, there are always some people in this world who use moral blackmail.

Gao Xing blinked and tugged at Pan Yang's sleeve: "Brother, why don't we give her some? Maybe that brother is mentally immature. My parents told me before that he has some kind of illness."

The older woman glared at her when she heard the happy words. She didn't dare to offend the girl, but she wasn't afraid of this little girl at all.

"What are you saying, you brat? How dare you say my grandson is sick? I think you're the one who's sick. You really are an ill-mannered girl."

Gao Xing was somewhat bewildered. She hadn't said anything on purpose. Tears were about to fall, but she held them back.

Pan Yang was too lazy to argue with this old lady, so he simply summoned Xiaoyao and blatantly stood in front of her, saying, "Get lost."

The old woman saw the sword, rolled her eyes, and realized it couldn't be real; it was obviously a toy. "Why should I get lost? You give things to the army, so why can't you give me anything!"

The next second, Xiaoyao directly placed his arm around the old woman's neck, and the old woman shuddered as a bloody mark appeared on her neck.

The woman felt pain in her neck and was instantly frightened. She glared at Pan Yang and left.

Zhou Yang walked up to Pan Yang: "Were you angry just now?"

"No."

“You could have just killed her. She angered you, so it’s her problem,” Zhou Yang said, seemingly ignoring his denial.

Pan Yang put Xiao Yao away and looked at Zhou Yang: "She won't live much longer." In the apocalypse, someone like her definitely wouldn't survive more than half an episode.

Zhou Yang nodded thoughtfully: "Then you must live a long time and stay with me forever."

"?" Although I was very touched, why did this sentence feel so strange, as if I would soon pass away?

Pan Yang sighed: "I'll definitely stay with you. Get in the car and continue on your way."

"Uh-huh!"

The group returned to the car.

Gao Xing hugged Gao Yan with a somewhat distressed expression. After a long while, she finally couldn't help but ask, "Brother Pan Yang, why did that old lady scold me? And you just didn't want to give her the milk powder, so why was she so fierce?"

"Because she is sick."

"So she's like this because she's sick? Will she get better?"

"No, just watch her die."

Gao Xing was a little confused, but seeing Huan Yang's serious expression, she finally nodded: "I understand!"

Shortly after Pan Yang left, a shout suddenly rang out from the army.

Then I saw the old lady who had asked Pan Yang for something earlier slumped on the ground, her legs clearly marked with zombie scratches.

"I...I'm not infected! I'm a human being."

The squad leader looked at the old woman, took a deep breath, and said, "You've already been scratched by a zombie, and soon you'll become one too." As he spoke, he pulled out a gun.

The woman went completely mad and tried to get up and rush towards the formation.

There was a "bang" sound.

The old woman fell to the ground.

The squad put their rifles back on their waists: "Everyone get in the vehicles and continue on our way."

As time went by, they had traveled nearly halfway, but the bad news came that they were out of gas. Pan Yang looked at the motionless car with some frustration, then looked around. It was deserted, without a single building, let alone a gas station.

Pan Yang felt a little tired and got out of the car. It seemed they would have to walk to the nearest city to get a car first.

Pan Yang carried a bag, and Zhou Yang didn't seem to mind the heat, holding onto Pan Yang's arm the whole time.

Gao Xing hugged Gao Yan tightly and followed closely behind Pan Yang, but being a child, they soon fell behind.

Pan Yang glanced at Gao Xing and picked up Gao Yan without saying a word. Looking at Gao Yan's soft little face, well, this kid seems quite fun.
