Imprisoning the Black Moonlight

Chapter 76 Bearing Humiliation and Hardship, There's Still a Long Way to Go

In a luxurious private room at Phnom Penh's largest Chinese restaurant, Yao Gongyue sat silently playing with a napkin, not having uttered a single word to the man beside her since leaving the house.

To get his father on his side, Hong Jin naturally had to perform well. As soon as he left his father's office, he busied himself replying to documents and inquiring about the progress of key projects. He knew better than anyone that as long as he was able to protect the Hong family and J country, his father wouldn't care who he married.

Ten minutes later, Wu Meng still hadn't come in. The man, who was extremely busy, finally put down his tablet and looked at the little one who was sulking beside him. "Are you hungry, Yuebao? Do you want to eat something first?"

Yao Gongyue looked directly into the man's dark eyes, rolled her eyes openly, and still refused to speak to him. She turned half of her body to the side, and even her hair was puffed out in anger.

The man smiled indulgently, reached out, pulled back the seat, and scooped her up onto his lap. He tilted his head back, close to her delicate white ear, and said, "Are you still angry? When you said stop, didn't I stop? What are you angry about?"

His words only made Yao Gongyue angrier. She grabbed the man's ear, on the verge of tears, and said, "How dare you say that? I... I've told you hundreds of times before you finally listened?"

"Sorry, baby, my ears just don't work properly once I get into bed!" It was clearly a vulgar statement, but he said it with a straight face. The man, wearing a cream-colored business short-sleeved shirt, had a straight back and was the epitome of a refined and elegant young nobleman. He was impeccably dressed, and no one from a distance would believe that he was uttering such lewd words that would make anyone blush.

"Could you be any more of a rogue?" Yao Gongyue said angrily, her eyes glistening as she stared at him.

"If you want to hear it, baby!" The man's large hand caressed her slender back, sending waves of tingling pleasure through her body.

"Cough cough cough~" The door to the private room opened at that moment, and Wu Meng walked in with Ouyang Zhen in his arms, looking roguish. "Hey, take it easy, don't scare my wife!"

Yao Gongyue pinched Hong Jin's waist, got off the man's lap, went over and took Ouyang Zhen's hand, glared at Wu Meng, and the two sat down on the side.

"You little brat, how dare you glare at me? Do you know who saved you?" Wu Meng sat down with an air of authority, glancing at his wife who had finally managed a smile. "You smile at everyone else, but you give me that sour face all day long."

"It couldn't be you who saved me, so don't try to take credit for it!" Yao Gongyue rolled her eyes at Wu Meng, feeling completely emboldened.

"Alright, little thing, if you get kidnapped again, even if Ah Jin offers ten armories in exchange, I won't lift a finger!" Wu Meng was in a good mood and deliberately teased her.

The little fairy looked at Hong Jin, her almond-shaped eyes filled with doubt. Hong Jin smiled and nodded, "A Meng and I rescued you. He covered for me."

"Then, then, then it must be because Zhenzhen was worried about me that she sent you. If we're going to give credit, it should be Zhenzhen's." The little girl refused to accept it and hugged Ouyang Zhen's slender waist, kissing her on the cheek.

"You little brat, how dare you kiss my wife?" Wu Meng was taken aback by her unexpected move and immediately lost his temper.

My husband has to beg for ages to kiss his wife, but this little thing kisses me on a whim.

"We kissed, so what? Should I let her kiss me back?" she said, rubbing her cheek against Ouyang Zhen's lips, provocatively addressing the jealous man opposite her, "Wow, Zhenzhen's lips are so soft!"

"Stop it!" Hong Jin looked at the little vixen who let others kiss her with displeasure in his wolfish eyes, his warning full of intent.

Yao Gongyue had just been disciplined last night and was still shaken. She pouted, but dared not cause any more trouble.

The food arrived quickly: a Chinese hot pot, plus some Southeast Asian snacks.

The two men were feeding their babies while talking about business.

The two women showed no interest in their conversation, keeping their heads down as they ate and chatted, occasionally exchanging glances as if speaking in riddles.

"Young Master!" The meal was only halfway through when a subordinate knocked on the door and came in.

Hong Jin frowned, placed the freshly peeled shrimp on Yao Gongyue's plate, and uttered a single word, "Speak!"

"The military police have engaged in a firefight with a group of armed men in the suburbs!" The guard captain carefully considered his words before speaking, "Deputy Commander Hong, he's been hit!"

Hong Jin paused in peeling the shrimp, his dark eyes glancing at the captain of the guard. "Who are they? How is Hong Jie?"

"It's still unclear. The other side is powerful and came prepared. The situation is currently unknown. Deputy Commander Hong has been sent for emergency treatment."

Hong Jin and Wu Meng exchanged a glance. As beasts who had survived a hail of bullets, they naturally understood that something was amiss. The military police were a regular army, and ordinary criminals would avoid them like the plague. Why would they provoke them? Moreover, the fact that they went straight for Hong Jie meant that the other party already knew everything about the military police beforehand.

"Are you finished eating? If you're done, have someone take you back!" Hong Jin waved his hand, signaling his subordinates to leave, then looked sternly at Yao Gongyue, who was standing to the side in a daze.

"Mmm!" she nodded.

Although she was a bit of a troublemaker, she could still tell what was important. Hong Jie had been shot, which was no small matter, and Hong Jin would definitely have to deal with it. Her own affair with him, no matter how big, was a small matter. At a time like this, she couldn't possibly be so tactless as to cause trouble.

"Good boy!" Hong Jin exclaimed, impressed by the little one's intelligence. This was his Yuebao, always so sensible.

"Just have your men take her back. I'll take Zhenzhen back to Yangon right now!" Wu Meng threw down the wet towel he had just used to wipe Ouyang Zhen's hands, grabbed her hand, and stood up. "Yangon isn't quiet either. My father wants me to get back as soon as possible."

"So soon?" Yao Gongyue looked at Ouyang Zhen with teary eyes, feeling a little reluctant to part with him.

Ouyang Zhen hadn't expected this to be a farewell banquet, and was caught off guard. She glared at Wu Meng with resentment, "Why didn't you say so sooner? I still have so much to say to Yueyue. You're always so willful and never tell me anything!"

Frustrated, Wu Meng scratched his short, rugged hair and apologized gently, "Alright, alright, I know I was wrong, baby. This isn't the time to be angry. Jin has things to do!"

After saying that, he gave Hong Jin a look, then pulled Ouyang Zhenhao by the wrist and walked out.

"Zhenzhen!" Suddenly, Yao Gongyue stood up, rushed to the door, and whispered in her ear, "Endure humiliation and bear the burden; there's a long road ahead!"

Ouyang Zhen's tears stopped instantly, and she nodded repeatedly, "You too, take care, Yueyue!"

Wu Meng ignored his wife's stammering and left with his arm around her waist.

Yao Gongyue stood at the door, watching the direction the two left in, silently praying that God would protect Zhenzhen and let her escape from the clutches of evil.

"You'd better pray that Ouyang Zhen doesn't have any ulterior motives, baby!" Hong Jin's voice came from above, and his tall and straight figure came from behind. He held her head with his large hand and gently kissed the top of her head. "A Meng is not someone to be trifled with."

Yao Gongyue sniffed dismissively, "You talk as if you're someone I can mess with!"

The man couldn't help but chuckle. "Even if I'm not someone to mess with, you still mess with me every day, don't you?" he said, putting his arm around her slender waist and leading her out. "It's just that I don't clean her up enough. She's always causing trouble."

The two men went downstairs, and the security captain was just walking around the car with the detector as usual when the detector, which had never made a sound before, suddenly emitted a piercing alarm.
