Imprisoning the Black Moonlight

Chapter 74 To Make a Hole in the Sky

For a fleeting moment, Nuohan was completely blank. The news was too shocking, too unbelievable. He stared intently at his tense subordinate standing at the door for a full minute before finally managing to stand up, leaning on the sofa. He staggered to the door, grabbed Ah Gui by the collar, his grip fierce and urgent.

"What the hell did you say? Say it again?"

Ah Gui, who was always brave and fearless on the battlefield, felt fear surge through his body as he looked at his boss's murderous eyes. He stammered, "Ah, Ah Kun showed me the photos on his phone. I, I'm sure, it's, it's Madam!"

"Get in here!" Almost the instant Ah Gui's voice fell, the man's dark eyes turned bloodshot, veins bulged on his forehead, and he roared like a lion, growling at his subordinate who was standing at the door, his legs trembling and unable to stand.

"M-My lord!" Ah Kun felt like he wanted to die. He didn't understand how that woman, who was Hong Jie's mistress, had become Lord Hagenu's wife. If that was really the case, and he had almost kidnapped and sold the lady, wouldn't that have caused a huge uproar?

Despite my hesitation, I had no choice but to grit my teeth and hand over the phone with both hands.

The girl in the photo has tears welling up in her eyes. Her eyes are clear and bright, with long eyelashes and a delicate, almost translucent white face. Her long, slightly curly black hair is loose, and she wears a light green dress. Her mouth is taped shut, and her hands are tied behind her back to a dilapidated chair. The surrounding ruins contrast sharply with the girl's vibrant beauty.

Her clear, bright eyes, looking at the camera lens, were still so clear, vibrant, and stubborn.

She must have been terrified!

Since their parting, countless days and nights have passed, and that face, like a stone carving, has been etched into his mind. He misses it constantly, and his heart aches every night.

He regretted it more than once, regretting that he couldn't keep her, not even a single hair or a photograph. There was nothing about her left in his life.

He was also constantly afraid that he wouldn't be able to fight against the memory curve, that time would blur her image, that he would forget her before he even found her, or, even more so, that she would forget him.

He had considered countless possibilities, but he had never imagined this one.

How could she possibly be Hong Jie's woman?

No wonder, no wonder she was so afraid, no wonder she was hiding everywhere.

With Hong Jie's power, if he wants a woman, then that woman will have nowhere to hide.

Little Moon is so beautiful, it must be that Hong Jie was lustful at first sight and forced himself on her, that must be it.

"Ah Gui!" The man's voice was hoarse, like a demon from hell or a beast from the deep mountains. "Gather all the troops that the old prince left in Phnom Penh, load the guns, go to the warehouse, and bring over all the explosives and 107mm rocket launchers I bought a couple of days ago!"

"Boss!" Ah Gui almost thought he had misheard. Those weapons were bought and shipped to northern Myanmar to make a profit. Was the boss crazy? How dare he use these things in Phnom Penh? This is Phnom Penh, the capital of a completely independent sovereign country, a place with countless police, military police and regular troops stationed there. If he dared to use rocket launchers in this place, wouldn't that be like tearing a hole in the sky?

Even when the old prince was still alive and the Hagnu family had a formal right to inherit the throne, they only dared to fight the Hong family within the political framework. They had to weigh all sides and were constantly hampered. For decades, no one has ever dared to play like that.

"What are you standing there for? Do you want me to do it myself?" Nuohan's eyes were red as he kicked Agui away, turned around, and glared at the group of high-ranking officials who were stunned and unable to process the shocking news. "And you, bring your men here, give them guns, consolidate them, form them into combat formations, and let them all obey my command!"

This is insane! The big boss doesn't look like a descendant of nobility or a royal prince at all; he's a war maniac and a ruthless bandit. Even though they've been involved in local gangs for years, fighting and killing to seize territory, they've never seen anything like this before. He dares to confront the regular army with real weapons and openly leads his men to snatch a woman from the deputy commander of the military police and a second-generation government official. This is insane!

"Boss! No, Lord Hagnu!" At this moment, a man with a handsome and refined appearance, around thirty years old, stepped forward from among the group of subordinates. He possessed a calm and reserved demeanor, and although his tone was not loud, it gave people a strange sense of comfort.

"In my opinion, taking action now would likely be detrimental to the lady!"

The man, on the verge of madness, gradually calmed down. He turned around, looked at the source of the voice, and took two steps forward. "Tell me about it!"

"The fact that we've made such a big fuss to snatch her away just shows how much Madam holds in your heart, sir. What if Hong Jie uses this to his advantage and blackmails you with Madam? Wouldn't we be throwing our lives away and handing over our entire secrets for nothing? I believe Madam would never want to see you fall into Hong Jie's hands because of her!"

One second, two seconds, three seconds...

Time flowed in silence as everyone held their breath, waiting for this madman to make a life-or-death decision.

Snapped!Snapped!Snapped!

After a long silence, Nuohan patted the man's shoulder with his large hand. "What's your name?"

"My subordinate, Solang, is the financial manager of the casino!"

"From this moment on, you are the manager of this casino. You are not responsible to anyone except me!" With that, Nuohan strode out. "Everyone disperse! Solang, come in with me!"

pat!

The cold white light dispelled the darkness of the study. The man strode in, sat down in his office chair with an air of authority, opened a drawer, took out two gold bars, and tossed them in front of the calm man. "Here, these are for you!"

"Your subordinate is terrified!" Solang glanced at the gold bars, remaining unmoved and showing no change in expression.

Nuohan gave a barely perceptible twitch of his lips. "Then I take back what I just said. Now get the hell out of here!"

Solang glanced at the sinister-looking boss in front of him, took a couple of deep breaths, and said, "Thank you, boss!" He then put the gold bars into his pocket.

The man in the chair grinned wickedly, then took out a package of white material and threw it on the table. "Can you get those wavering old bastards' sons in the military to obey you within a week?"

Solang glanced at the things on the table without changing his expression, then looked up and met the man's sharp eyes. "Aren't you being a little too radical?"

Nuohan raised his hand, smiled indifferently, and said, "The door is right there. Leave now, and I won't shoot!"

A brief silence fell over the room...

Nuohan tilted his head and lit a cigarette, the bluish-white smoke curling upwards. His resolute, sinister eyes narrowed, and as he tossed the lighter aside, a low, husky voice emanated from his throat, "You have one minute to regret this!"

Solang pursed his lips, his dark eyes trembled slightly for a few moments, and hesitantly picked up the things on the table and stuffed them into his pocket.

A wicked smile curved his thin lips as he withdrew his hand from his lower back, which had been resting on the gun handle. "You're very clever!"

"Now, tell me, what do you think is the wisest way for me to kill Hong Jie and rescue my Little Moon?"
