Imprisoning the Black Moonlight
Chapter 26: You'll Disappear Once You Open It
The main building has three floors. Yao Gongyue ran out of the room and was stunned by the luxurious scene. But at this time, escaping was the priority. She looked left and right and saw that there were spiral staircases on both sides leading to the living room on the first floor. The huge floor-to-ceiling window and transparent glass door in front of the living room came into view.
Lifting her skirt, she ran downstairs without a care in the world. The man followed her out with a half-smile, smoking a cigarette, his long legs carrying him steadily.
She had barely rushed downstairs and hadn't even touched the door when she heard a beeping sound beneath her feet. Then, a piercing alarm went off throughout the building, and the seemingly ordinary glass door suddenly slammed shut, leaving the terrified girl dumbfounded.
He reached for the door, but the next second, a squad of armed soldiers rushed in from not far away. They were all armed to the teeth, and their faces were obscured, but their fierce and powerful aura sent chills down his spine, making his back go numb and cold sweat pour down his back.
I knew Hong Jin was no good, but I never imagined he was this bad. He's a terrorist, he's definitely a terrorist. What should we do?
Yao Gongyue stood there, stunned, not even noticing how the tall man's figure had approached.
Suddenly, her feet lost their footing, and a strong arm covered her waist. The man lifted the girl up with one hand and sat her down on a leather sofa not far away.
He placed the person on his lap, stubbed out his cigarette, and with a wave of his hand, shut down the indoor alarm system. The servant who had been standing in the corner wisely retreated, and the guards in the courtyard turned and ran away.
For a moment, the empty room was filled with only the two of them, their eyes locked, their breaths almost touching.
"After all that fuss this morning, aren't you hungry?" The man squinted at the dazed girl in his arms and asked with a smile.
"Hong Jin, are you really a terrorist?" she asked mechanically, her heart sinking.
The man pressed his temples and said helplessly, "No!"
He didn't know how to explain it to this confused little guy. After all, he didn't work in any government department and didn't hold any official position. His identity was too sensitive, and it wasn't convenient for him to appear in front of the public right now.
"I work for my father!" She paused, trying to choose an explanation she could understand.
"So your father is a terrorist?" she asked, frowning.
Hong Jin almost choked on her breath. "No!" He affectionately tapped her forehead. "How many times have I told you? Spend your time reading more books and watching less brainless dramas!"
"My father is an official!" He knew all too well how timid this little coward was; she had been terrified these past two days, and he didn't want to upset her any further.
Yao Gongyue's beautiful eyes flickered, and she bit her lip, remaining silent.
So he's the son of a corrupt official; no wonder he's so arrogant.
No, that's not the point. She suddenly realized, anger surging through her, her beautiful eyes glaring at the man.
"What did you put on me?" She was certain that it was this thing on her foot that made the sound before the gate closed and the soldiers appeared.
“A miniature electronic tracker, baby.” His face remained calm as he gently stroked the gold rose on her fair ankle. “Once you approach the security perimeter, which is this gate, it will sound an alarm, and the entire manor’s top-level security system will be activated.”
His tone was unhurried, as calm and collected as ever, just like when he explained every gift he had given her. His handsome face, with its sharp features, exuded an innate relaxed and noble air, yet it made Yao Gongyue feel desperate and devastated.
"Open it for me!" She suppressed her anger and resentment, feigning composure.
"No, baby, you'll disappear if I open it!"
The man's dark eyes hardened with obsession as he looked up at her tearful eyes. "Don't you love pretty things the most? This is something I had specially commissioned a designer to make for you. Look, baby, the tracker is hidden inside; you can't see it at all!"
He flaunted the pure gold rose, asking, "Isn't it pretty? It goes with everything; it matches any dress our baby wears."
Snapped!
As soon as the man finished speaking, a crisp slap echoed throughout the hall. The butler, who was standing not far away and saw the commotion through the glass, felt as if a heavy hammer had struck his aging heart. He was so shocked that he wished he could hold up his liver and gallbladder, which were sinking downwards.
Good heavens, he has worked for the Hong family his whole life and has never seen anyone dare to lay a hand on the eldest young master. No one has ever dared to say a harsh word to him. He is the eldest grandson of the Hong family and the future head of the Hong family. How many people depend on him for their lives? How dare the young madam?
Yao Gongyue could no longer keep up the act. Her eyes reddened, her lips turned white with hatred, and she trembled slightly. "You treat me like a dog?"
Installing a tracking system on her feet, preventing her from leaving the house, and restricting her personal freedom—what's the difference between that and keeping a dog in a cage?
Hong Jin's heart sank, his handsome brows furrowing tightly. "Yuebao, you mustn't say that!"
"You told me not to speak, but you did this? Only dogs are leashed. No matter how pretty or expensive the leash is, it doesn't change the fact that it's a pet without dignity!"
She trembled with agitation, her fair hands gripping the man's shirt tightly. "Hong Jin, Young Master Hong, what heinous thing have I done to deserve this humiliation?"
Snapped!Snapped!Snapped!
After she finished speaking, she slapped the man three more times across his gloomy face, which he neither dodged nor flinched.
"Does your hand hurt? If it doesn't, you can continue. This is what I owe you!" His dark eyes were still fixed on her, as if those slaps were a kind of relief, a kind of repayment for him. Once he had slapped her and vented his anger, his Yuebao would stay obediently!
He knew she didn't get angry easily, but when she did, she was hard to appease and needed to vent her anger.
It doesn't matter. What dignity, what noble status? Compared to his Yuebao, none of it matters. He doesn't want anything, he doesn't care about anything.
"Hong Jin!" Yao Gongyue looked at the man in front of her with tears streaming down her face. "I'm using the last bit of affection I have for you to ask you one last time: can you let me go?"
Hong Jin's eyes were bloodshot, and the stray hairs on her forehead, disheveled by the fan, trembled slightly from the immense, suppressed pain. After composing herself for a few moments, she patiently began to coax, "Baby, I hired a Chinese chef. He just arrived today. Why don't you try some of their cooking and see if it suits your taste?"
"Answer me!" The girl's expression was cold and aloof, a coldness he had never seen before.
Hong Jin was momentarily stunned. Since she met Yue Bao, Yue Bao had always been a mischievous and capricious girl, both innocent and timid, and adorable. She had never seen her with such a sharp and edgy appearance before, and for a moment she couldn't tell which one was the real her.
"Baby! Don't force me!" He raised his hand, wanting to wipe away the tears on her cheeks, but she dodged away in disgust. "Don't touch me!"
That fleeting look of disgust sent a chill down the man's spine. His heart felt as if it had fallen into an eternal night, devoid of light, or as if someone had taken a knife and plunged it into his chest, turning it over and over, chopping his internal organs into minced meat, bubbling with blood.
She hates me? She hates me!
The man was instantly cast into the deepest abyss, never to be released.
Her clenched and unclenched fists, veins bulging, were a mess. What did it matter if she hated it or not? The die was cast, and she had no way out. She herself had already pawned her soul. Yuebao, we are destined to be entangled to the death. Whether we want to or not is no longer important.
