Imprisoning the Black Moonlight

Chapter 214 My heart is aching, I don't have time.

For about ten seconds, Nuohan's mind went blank. He was breathing rapidly, his dark eyes fixed on her, and his throat felt like it wasn't even his own.

"Baby...baby...I'm serious...you...you can't lie to me!"

"If you think I'm making fun of you, then just pretend I didn't say anything."

"Don't even think about it!" The man pulled her into his arms, and Yao Gongyue could even hear his rapid heartbeat.

"I don't care, if I take it seriously, it has to be true."

The girl did not resist; his clean, refreshing scent gave her an inexplicable sense of security. After a moment...

"Think carefully. I'm very delicate and hard to coax. Most importantly, I have no conscience."

The man looked down at her spoiled yet adorable eyes and brows, and smiled like a fool. "Okay, I know!"

"So, baby, I'm officially your boyfriend now, right? The kind of boyfriend who can exercise all the rights?"

Yao Gongyue didn't speak, but looked at him silently with moist eyes.

It was rare to see such a broad expression on Nuohan's handsome face; he couldn't suppress his smile. His large hand cupped the back of her head, and he lowered his head to place a kiss on her soft, alluring lips.

"I'll stamp this, and you'll be my little wife from now on."

The girl's face flushed instantly, filled with shyness. She didn't know how to react and tried to back away, but the man's large hand held her tightly.

"Why are you hiding? I didn't do anything else!"

"What else do you want to do?" she angrily pushed the man's chest. "You better behave yourself from now on, or you'll see what happens if you try to act like a hooligan!"

"Ok!"

Yao Gongyue felt her head getting heavier and heavier, and her whole body felt uncomfortable. She groaned weakly, "Big blockhead, I feel terrible!"

The man touched her forehead with his large hand; she had a slight fever, and worry spread across his handsome face.

"Eat something first, the doctor will be here soon!"

The girl had little appetite and was practically forced to eat a few bites by him before he carried her upstairs.

She felt alternating chills and fever, and her sore throat made it difficult to even drink water.

The doctor came to examine her and said it was the flu. However, the flu varies from person to person. She already had a weak constitution, and with her period approaching, her immune system was even weaker, which is why her cold symptoms were more severe than those of the average person.

The doctor prescribed cold medicine, but it doesn't seem to be working very well.

By the afternoon, she was in so much pain that she couldn't even get out of bed.

The man held her in his arms, saying nothing, his face full of heartache.

"Nuohan, am I going to die?" The girl opened her eyes groggily, weak and listless. She was already delicate, and when she was not feeling well, she became even more fragile, like a broken crystal doll. As she spoke, tears of grievance welled up in her eyes.

The man's arms tightened around her, and his thin lips slowly pressed into a straight line.

"Don't talk nonsense, baby. You'll be fine. Didn't the doctor say that with the medicine, you'll feel better tomorrow?"

"But there are still ten or twenty hours until tomorrow, and I feel like I won't make it." She sniffed, feeling frustrated and unable to vent her anger.

"It's all your fault. Why did you have to take me to the hospital? Now look what happened, you've put my life at risk."

Nuohan couldn't bear to hear any of this. He didn't know how to comfort women, and his heart was in turmoil.

"I'll have the doctor come over now and stay here tonight. If it gets really unbearable, we'll go to the hospital, okay?"

"I don't want to go to the hospital." Yao Gongyue said firmly. "Never mind, I feel like I can still hold on. Go get me a glass of water."

Chinese people believe that hot water can cure all diseases.

When it got dark, Yao Gongyue almost threw up from drinking so much water.

Nuohan frowned. "Moon, this is water, not medicine. If you keep drinking like this, you'll ruin your stomach."

“When I used to catch a cold, my mom and aunt would treat me like this, and with the medication, it worked really well.”

Perhaps it was the water and urination that worked, or perhaps the medicine was taking effect. Around 9 p.m., Yao Gongyue finally couldn't move anymore and fell into a deep sleep in the man's arms.

Nuohan's expression softened slightly.

Once her breathing had calmed down, the man tiptoed out of the bedroom, turned on his phone, and saw more than a dozen missed calls.

I opened my father's number and dialed it.

"Ah Han, what are you doing? Why did you leave the army without permission?" Old Hagnu's voice was as cold and indifferent as ever.

“Father, you’ve never cared about my affairs before, so please don’t care about them anymore.”

"Kid, are you crazy? Is this how you talk to me?"

The man silently lit a cigarette. “Father, sometimes, some things are best left to nature. Don’t force them! That’s all I have to say. But don’t worry, I will still help you if you need me in the future. However, it’s best if you don’t interfere in my affairs. After all, my surname is Bai, not Hagnu.”

"Ah Han, you'll regret this!"

"Father, take care!"

After hanging up the phone, the man opened the window, stood by the window and smoked a cigarette. His friend called again.

"Ah Han, are you in Y country?" It was Basong's nonchalant voice on the other end of the phone.

The man's expression remained unchanged, but his dark eyes narrowed. "Where did you get this information?"

"The S gang recently wanted to take down an arms dealer who had stolen their business. They claimed to have swallowed up the dealer's goods and wanted to sell them at a low price. They came to me, and when I looked at those items, I knew they were yours. That's why I called to confirm."

"Your business scope is quite broad?" The man's words clearly carried a different meaning.

Basong chuckled slyly, "Don't worry, if I really wanted to scam you, would I be making this call to you?"

"You think you can fool me?"

The person on the other end of the phone was speechless for a good ten seconds before finally snapping, "Damn it, you win! I can't afford to mess with you, okay?"

"Did you conduct the transaction in Thailand, or in Country Y?"

"They would naturally prefer to sell your shipment locally."

"Hmm, should I send my men to pick me up, or should your men deliver the armory directly to me?" The man asked calmly, leaving no room for negotiation.

"Oh ho, so you're making me spend money and effort?" My friend's tone rose a few decibels, clearly displeased.

"You can choose to refuse!"

The man's handsome face remained completely expressionless.

"Damn it, Nuohan, you think you can get me all figured out? Fine, I'm out of luck! I'm arriving in L City tomorrow, when are you free?"

"I haven't had any free time these past few days."

"I did you such a big favor, and you didn't even show your face?" Basong was almost roaring. He had gotten whatever he wanted in his life, and if there was anyone in this world who could control him, it would probably only be Nuohan.

"My beloved son is ill, I don't have time!"

"Ah~" The other end practically screamed, the already unpleasant voice almost cracking, "Say it again, what the hell?"

"If you're deaf, go to the hospital. Do you want me to contact a doctor for you?"

"No, Ah Han, when did you get a sweetheart? No way, I have to meet her, I have to see which deity can subdue you, this scoundrel, I have to pay my respects to her!" Basong sounded unusually excited.

"Don't rush, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to worship. When the time comes, be more devout than me."

"So what if you have a woman? You act like nobody else does." His friend didn't expect him to take advantage of the situation.

"Can your women compare to my moon?"

Exhausted, Basong cursed in Thai and hung up the phone.
