Imprisoning the Black Moonlight

Chapter 170 The road is boundless

In the early morning, the clouds cleared and the rain stopped!

The pale blue light was too weak to penetrate the layers of leaves and into the forest; the surroundings remained dark and gloomy.

The killer, having searched downstream to no avail, realized what was happening and went into the deep forest along the river. Even with search dogs, the rain had washed away all traces overnight.

To increase their chances of success, they had to split into two search teams of four, each going into the forest to ambush the enemy.

The infrared sights flashed intermittently among the trees in the forest. The beast, which had been dozing off, suddenly opened its wolfish eyes and swiftly placed the girl, still asleep in its arms, into the bushes behind it, covering her with a huge palm leaf. "Yuebao, there are people nearby. Don't be afraid, just stay here obediently!"

Yao Gongyue nervously clutched the hem of her clothes, but the surroundings were dark and she couldn't see anything. She didn't dare to make a sound and could only nod until the man's warm hand pressed on the top of her head, at which point she relaxed a little.

After the man withdrew his hand, the surroundings returned to deathly silence, but she knew he must be nearby!

The assassin drew closer and closer. His gun, which was embedded in the mud and sand, was no longer usable. He only had a military knife in his hand, but against an excessively powerful beast, sometimes, melee weapons are more effective for a fatal blow.

The assassin leading the way used his sniper rifle to part the branches and leaves. Death, hidden in the treetop, was like a sword drawn from its sheath, descending from above to sever the throat in one stroke. The speed was so fast that the other assassin behind him could only see a blur through his night vision goggles.

Before he could even raise his gun, a flash of white light streaked past his eyes, and he fell straight down with his eyes wide open.

boom!boom!

The moment the second assassin fell, the man snatched the sniper rifle from his hand and fired decisively. Two shots rang out, both hitting their mark, one shot, one kill!

He was ruthless and decisive, striking without hesitation and hitting the vital points.

The gunshot startled the sleeping birds in the forest, and the entire forest seemed to wake up instantly. Another assassin squad searching nearby reacted quickly and moved towards the direction of the gunshot.

"Yuebao! There might be other assassins nearby, let's leave first!" He took two steps forward, "pulled" the girl out of the bushes, held a sniper rifle in one hand and her hand in the other, and was about to leave.

"Wait!" Yao Gongyue grabbed his hand. "I can't see. Go, take off their shoes, and put them on yourself. It'll be easier for you to walk that way!"

The man was thick-skinned and tough, and the dense foliage of the deep forest was nothing to him, but he felt a surge of warmth in his heart and pinched her cold cheek. "Okay!"

In less than a minute, the man took her hand again and handed her something. "Eat this, I just found it, it's compressed biscuits. Have something to eat first, and after we finish dealing with the rest of the people, I'll go get you something to eat!"

Yao Gongyue reached out and took it, eating as she walked. She had been hungry for so long that she could barely taste anything in the few bites she had to fill her stomach before swallowing them down.

The stuffy, damp air seemed to be able to squeeze water out of it. After walking for a while, the two of them were soaked again. There was no way around it. It had rained all night, and the leaves around them would drip water if touched. Even though she had tied her long hair up with a dry branch, there were still stray hairs on Yao Gongyue's delicate face, and water droplets kept dripping from her chin. It was hard to tell whether it was rainwater or sweat.

"Alright, Yuebao, come on, hide inside!"

Finally, they found a half-dead tree stump, hollow in the middle. The man quickly chopped off a few leaves and put them inside, hiding Yao Gongyue inside. He then covered her with a thick layer of leaves to ensure she wouldn't be discovered when he made his move.

Then, he took a few steps back in the opposite direction, fired a shot into the air, and another swarm of birds took flight.

With a sniper rifle, the killing machine is like a tiger with wings. Without even revealing itself, it can quickly climb to the top of a tall, broad-leaved tree, occupy the best sniping position, and wait for its prey to walk right into its trap.

The assassins, following the sound, moved with extreme caution, each step carefully considered. People are always filled with fear of the unknown and powerful. Their opponent was the "Sniper God," renowned throughout Southeast Asia. Although he was a high-ranking prince, everyone knew he was not just a playboy who only knew how to spend money and enjoy life. His ability to quickly take down four well-trained professional soldiers demonstrated his terrifying strength, and no one dared to be careless.

Even with extreme caution, the group dared not advance rashly. Forming a two-in-front, two-out-of-back formation, each person was responsible for one direction, including overhead, advancing cautiously and circumventing the danger. Even so, their palms were still sweating profusely. They felt as if they were surrounded by a powerful, eerie, and sinister aura, like prey trapped in a predator's hunting ground, awaiting a fierce and brutal slaughter.

boom!

A gunshot rang out, and a man fell to the ground.

The ghostly, tricky angles make it impossible to determine the other party's location.

The other three exchanged glances; their formation was clearly starting to break down, and their steps became increasingly unsteady and frantic.

Those skilled at hunting destroy the heart.

Hong Jin clearly understood this principle well; he was like a cat teasing a mouse, unhurried and composed.

boom!boom!

Two more shots.

Then only one man remained alive. Before he could react, a dark shadow flashed behind him, and a large, steel-like hand gripped his throat from behind. The gun in his hand, gripped by immense fear, was no longer under his control, and he was pinned against a massive tree trunk by the Grim Reaper-like man.

"You only have one chance to speak. Tell us who's behind this!" A voice like that of a demon from hell rang out from behind, sending chills down your spine.

Even a professionally trained assassin, if less skilled than others, would not easily speak.

Hong Jin's pupils contracted sharply, and with a forceful twist of his large hand, he snapped the man's throat without hesitation.

Those who want to die don't deserve to live!

"Ah~"

Suddenly, a scream came from behind. The man's dark eyes widened in surprise, "Yuebao!"

Yao Gongyue hid in the tree hole, holding her breath. Xiao heard an animal snort and her hair stood on end in tension. Could it be a wolf?

She was so frightened that she dared not move.

But the thing seemed to be wandering around nearby, and then it began to pluck leaves from the broken stump.

The sounds of baring teeth and tearing grew more rapid. She didn't know if it was a wild dog or a wolf, and finally couldn't help but scream.

Hong Jin rushed over in less than two minutes. When he saw the scene before him, he paused for a moment, but his heart, which had been hanging in suspense, finally settled down.

The moment the vicious dog lunged at Yao Gongyue's throat, a gaping maw snapped shut on her abdomen. Before she could even resist, the giant python's terrifying bite force crushed her bones, swallowing them whole.

There is always a way out.

Jin Jin always liked to sneak out to the forest to play when the water was rising. It smelled the scent of Hong Jin and Yao Gongyue and followed the scent all the way. Unexpectedly, at the critical moment, it was it that saved Yao Gongyue. It has to be said that the fate between this human and the python is really wonderful.

"Jin Jin!" Hong Jin put away his gun, hugged Yao Gongyue, who was clinging to the dead tree stump in fright, and comforted her. He then ordered his greedy pet, "Spit it out. It will take you half an hour to digest what you ate. I don't have that much time to wait for you!"

"Who are you talking to?" Yao Gongyue thought he had lost his mind, so she reached out to touch his face and asked curiously.

"Jinjin! You forgot? It's your favorite pet!" Hong Jin shoved Jinjin's head with his foot. "Spit it out! What's so good about this old dog? I'll make you rabbit meat when we get back!"

Jin Jin reluctantly vomited up its dead prey, skin and fur intact. Hong Jin squatted down, took off a chain from its neck, and tied it to its body with a shoelace. "Go back and find Dasen!"
