Imprisoning the Black Moonlight

Chapter 164 Beach Wedding

When Nuohan came in, his face was expressionless. Yao Gongyue looked at him with bright eyes and asked, "What did the doctor say?"

"It's nothing, your digestive system is just too weak. You need to eat on time, get plenty of rest, and you'll be fine after a while!"

"Hmm!" She lowered her head, pulled back the covers, and lay back down in bed.

"Moon!" Nuohan walked to the bedside, his dark eyes looking at her. "Let's get married!"

She never expected the man to bring this up suddenly, and her mind went blank for a moment, unsure of how to react.

"What? You don't want to?" Nuohan smirked, brushing a stray hair behind her ear. "I've thought about this for a long time, it's not just a passing fancy. Moon, marry me, okay? Let me take care of you!"

Yao Gongyue, "..."

The man stared at her blankly, his handsome brows furrowing slightly. "The moon?"

"Why are you suddenly telling me this?" She looked curiously into the man's sharp eyes. "Did the doctor say something to you?"

"No, it's just that I want to marry you, Moon, to be your husband and wife, to spend my whole life together." He reached under the covers and took her slightly cold hand in his, his eyes filled with hope. "Will you?"

"Didn't you say I was sick? Couldn't you wait until I was better?"

"It's okay, I'll want you no matter what, I'll take good care of you!" He bent down, wanting to kiss her, but seeing the fleeting fear and panic in her eyes, he finally kissed her forehead in the instant their breaths mingled.

"I will try my best to be a good husband, believe me!"

The girl pursed her lips, glanced to the other side to avoid looking at him, and finally nodded slightly under his earnest gaze.

A smile spread across the man's eyes. "Then I'll go make the preparations. We'll have the wedding on the island in three days!"

"So fast?" She frowned, a little displeased.

"No, I can't wait even a day longer. Let's go to Yangon after the wedding and settle down there."

"Okay!" She was listless, with no joy on her face. The man's Adam's apple bobbed, but he didn't say anything more. He tucked the blanket around her and turned to leave.

Just as I stepped out the door, Blackie called.

"Master, something happened!"

"What is it?" The man paused in his steps as he came downstairs.

"John's family was assassinated; they died in the church!"

"Who did this?" His voice was deep, with a hint of nonchalance.

"We're investigating. We haven't heard any noise. They must be experts, and each one of them can kill with a single blow. This kind of technique is rare!"

"I know, so be it!" He crossed his long legs and sat down on the sofa, took out a cigarette and lit it. "I wasn't planning on keeping it anyway, it's just a matter of a few days sooner or later!"

"What if John finds out...?"

“He doesn’t have the guts! People addicted to drugs aren’t human anymore, they’re just animals!” The man took a deep drag on his cigarette. “Blackie, get me some stuff, the most expensive stuff, the stuff women like. I need to give Moon a wedding gift.”

"Very well, congratulations young master, you have achieved your wish!"

After hanging up the phone, the man's dark eyes looked at the tightly closed door upstairs. Had he really gotten what he asked for? What I asked for was her sincerity, her love. Did I really get it?

The wedding was held on a heart-shaped beach, decorated with great care, with thick carpets and roses covering the ground. The only exception was the audience, who all sat on either side, looking a bit stiff and obedient.

Yao Gongyue wore a floor-length wedding dress that was over ten meters long. The crown on her head, the necklace around her neck, and the earrings were all priceless jewels that had been auctioned off from top auction houses. Even the bouquet she was holding was designed by a special designer and made by hand.

Wearing shoes studded with diamonds, she looked like an angel fallen to earth—pure, beautiful, and captivating—as she walked step by step toward her groom.

"Moon, you are so beautiful today!" Nuohan's chest trembled with excitement. It all felt like a dream, and he was so immersed in it that he couldn't believe it, couldn't wake up, and treaded carefully.

Yao Gongyue pursed her lips and looked at him, her smile faint. "But I always feel like something's missing!"

The man smiled and leaned closer to her. "I'm sorry, baby. When we get back to Yangon, I'll have my uncle arrange an even grander and more luxurious one, okay? Consider today my dream coming true ahead of time!"

The girl pouted, a hint of disdain on her face. "This suit doesn't suit you at all!"

"I had no choice. My wife is sick, and I didn't want her to worry, so I just bought whatever I could!" He rarely joked.

"I misspoke. I should say that you're not suited to suits. Wearing one makes you look like a suit-wearing thug! And your soldiers, if you didn't know better, you'd think they were attending a wedding, or a pre-war mobilization meeting!"

A fleeting unease crossed the man's eyes. "Naughty!"

John, dressed in a pastor's robe and wearing an eye patch, stood on the altar, holding a Bible, and began to officiate the wedding.

"Distinguished guests, welcome to the wedding of Mr. Hagnu Norhan and Ms. Yao Gongyue. First of all, on behalf of all the priests—"

boom!

Before John could finish his opening remarks, the white villa not far away exploded with a deafening roar that shook the earth.

chug chu...

Immediately afterwards, a dense swarm of landing craft arrived from the sea like arrows released from a bow. On the foremost vessel, fully armed mercenaries in camouflage, armed with submachine guns, opened fire directly in this direction. On either side, rocket launchers quickly locked onto their targets and fired simultaneously.

Before the naval soldiers landed, combat helicopters were already in position overhead, flying at low altitude to provide fire support to the land. The lead helicopter even arrogantly opened its hatch and sat at the doorway to straf the ground.

In an instant, the wedding venue was a mess, amidst a hail of bullets.

Nuohan reacted quickly, shielding Yao Gongyue beneath him. However, her dress was too long, and her jewelry was extremely heavy, making her the most conspicuous target.

The man quickly found cover, removed the crown from her head, took off his coat and draped it over her shoulders, then pulled out a pistol from his waistband and cocked it deftly. "Moon, stay here and don't move!"

As more and more soldiers launched a surprise attack on the island, the man quickly directed the battle through a Bluetooth headset: "First and second squads, engage the enemy head-on. Fight and retreat to the back of the mountain. Once they've all landed on the island, launch a full-scale counterattack."

Yao Gongyue hid in a corner, quickly took off the long skirt of her wedding dress, then took off the petticoat underneath, took off her shoes, covered her ears, and dared not move.

The sounds of gunfire and explosions grew increasingly chaotic and frantic. She dared not look up, dared not utter a sound, and dared not even look at the horrific scene before her.

But for some reason, she didn't cry. She even felt a faint sense of anticipation, yet she didn't know what she was anticipating.
