Imprisoning the Black Moonlight

Chapter 137 Do you know the consequences of killing someone in China?

Yu Lili knew her own situation, and Hong Jin knew it too, but she still felt embarrassed to say it so bluntly in front of a man.

“Young Master Jin, Yuebao is oversimplifying things. I don’t want to upset her, so I came here not to ask you to save me, but to ask you to keep it a secret that I can’t go back. I don’t want her to be sad because of me.”

“Miss Lily, the reason I decided to help you is partly because of Yuebao, and partly because you deserve it. Even with drug addiction and AIDS, you still maintain your original intentions towards your friends. For that reason alone, you are worth my help. I am not a saint, and saving all living beings is not my responsibility, so have you thought it through!”

His tone was indifferent, his voice low and languid, as if these insurmountable obstacles for her were nothing more than a flick of his finger to him.

"You're really willing to help me?" A hint of disbelief flashed in Yuli's eyes.

"I'll give you two choices. If you want to stay here, I own a club that I can manage for you, provided that you quit drugs and receive treatment and job training. If you want to go back to China, I can send you back, but you can't have any contact with Yuebao until you quit drugs and your condition is under control."

"I choose the first one!" Almost without hesitation, Yu Lili chose to stay. She had no more attachments in China. The conditions Hong Jin offered were practically a second chance at life, and she couldn't help but be tempted.

"Okay!" the man replied casually. "Someone will come to pick you up tomorrow, and he'll take care of the rest!"

"Thank you, Young Master Jin. I wish you and Yuebao happiness!" Yu Lili almost trembled as she suppressed her excitement, bowed to him, and turned to leave.

……

After taking a shower, Yao Gongyue came out but didn't see Hong Jin. She put on a face mask and curled up on the sofa to try to memorize vocabulary words, but she hadn't even memorized two words when there was a knock on the door.

She lazily opened the door, where stood Baru, a cool young man with a tall and upright figure and a cold face exactly like Hong Jin's.

“Ah Jin isn’t here. I don’t know where he went. If you want to find him, you can call him.” She said, pressing her face mask down with both hands and tilting her head back.

"I'm looking for you!" The young man looked down at her, his handsome face expressionless.

Yao Gongyue glanced at him for a second, then turned around and said, "Come in and talk."

“I don’t want to go to Russia. Jin-ge only listens to you.” He got straight to the point.

"First, it's impolite to call me 'sister' from now on. Second, if you want me to be your advocate, you need to give a legitimate reason." She sat upright on the sofa, adopting the demeanor of an elder.

Baru gave her a disdainful look and said coldly, "I've been fighting on the battlefield with Brother Jin since I was ten. You expect me to call you 'sister'?"

Yao Gongyue swallowed hard, feeling a little guilty. This kid was just like Hong Jin, mature beyond his years, looking like he was decades old even though he was only a teenager. The way he looked at people was really scary. But she wouldn't back down, so she pressed her face mask down again and said defiantly, "Then call me sister-in-law. If you don't, I'll whisper in Hong Jin's ear."

Baru Qingjun frowned slightly. "Troublemaker!"

Yao Gongyue, smug and pleased with herself, simply peeled off the face mask, threw it in the trash can, and smugly rubbed the essence on her face, grinning with a gossipy look, "Hey, tell your sister-in-law, why don't you want to go to Russia? It's not because you can't bear to leave some girl, is it?"

Baru frowned even more deeply. "What did Brother Jin say to you?"

"Do I even need to say it? Your face screams 'heartbroken'!" Yao Gongyue tossed her hair haughtily and raised an eyebrow. "You don't want to go to Russia because you don't want to be separated from her?"

"Her family has hidden her away. I haven't seen her in so long. If I go to Russia again, our lives will be over." The boy's sharp eyes were filled with withered sorrow. Yao Gongyue had never seen such a look in a boy's eyes before, and her heart clenched.

"You really like her that much?"

"The reason I secretly flew the fighter jet to participate in the operation was to see how far a man can love a woman. Brother Jin loves you so much that he would risk his life, and I love Xixi in the same way."

The word "love" sounds too heavy, even a little out of place, coming from the mouth of a seventeen-year-old boy. But in Baru, it doesn't seem so abrupt. His eyes hold the deep affection of a young man, as well as the steadfastness of a man, even a masculine one.

Yao Gongyue pursed her lips and asked seriously, "Her family doesn't want you two to be together, does they?"

"Hmm!" the boy replied casually. "Their family situation is complicated and they're on the decline. She's beautiful, and her family sees her as a bargaining chip, wanting to gamble on her at a crucial moment. But they didn't expect that I would cause this unexpected turn of events."

The boy clenched his long, slender fingers into a fist, his teeth clenched in anger. "She clearly said she liked me and wanted to be with me."

“As long as she was willing to be with me, I would take her to the ends of the earth, but she secretly ran back home while I was asleep.” His fingers were clenching so tightly they were cracking.

Yao Gongyue rolled her eyes at him and said, "Of course! If it were me, I'd run too!"

The boy looked up at her, incredulous.

"Don't look at me like that. If you don't believe me, go ask Hong Jin. He's rich and powerful. I've run away from him so many times. If it weren't for his sycophantic behavior, I wouldn't want to be with him!"

After she finished speaking, she went to the bathroom to wash off the essence on her face. While applying face cream, she said, "Look at you, a student, a teenage boy with nothing, an uncertain future. Such a good girl, carefully nurtured by her family for many years, are you out of your mind to follow you?"

Be rational, young man. Feelings are one thing, reality is another. Do you think it's a fairy tale to get a girl to abandon her family and elope with you? It's not that easy.

If, as you say, she left and her family fell into ruin as a result, then she will have to bear the guilt of betraying her family for the rest of her life. A girl without family has no way out and no place to come from. Anyone with a brain wouldn't do that.

To be honest, the girl did nothing wrong. She's responsible and has a strong sense of duty, and she's more rational than you. She's definitely been raised by Hong Jin; she's got a love-struck brain.

“How do you know I’m irresponsible? I will shoulder every responsibility a man should. I told her I would take care of her family’s problems, but she didn’t believe me.”

"Don't even think about it, your solution is nothing more than murder, right?" Yao Gongyue put down the face cream in her hand, her expression turning serious.

"You're only seventeen, and you're not even Chinese. Do you know the consequences of killing someone in China? You might even drag Hong Jin down with you. Is this what you call a man's responsibility?"

I told you you resembled him, but now it seems you're nothing like him. Go back and think about it carefully. What woman would dare be with a man who can't even secure his own future and can give up so easily? You little brat!

"Sister-in-law, it's me~"

“If you call me sister-in-law, then I have to live up to that title. A-Lu, Hong Jin said you are a genius, so you should understand that everyone’s choices are made after careful consideration. They choose the option that is most beneficial to themselves. You can’t force someone to choose you. What if she regrets it and blames you?”
