On the island, a highly discordant scene unfolded: a man with a pointed mouth, monkey-like face, and shifty eyebrows was eating grilled fish with a fat, greasy monk.

At this moment, Wang Chao was also very uneasy, because the person sitting opposite him was no pushover. This was Chen Deng, one of the Four Buddhas of the East.

The dynasty had long heard of those Buddhist followers in the East. Those bald men would readily preach the Buddha's mercy and, without warning, convert you. Their methods of brainwashing were terrifying.

At this moment, Wang Chao was undergoing mental torture by Chen Deng. This guy was too eloquent. Wang Chao knew that Chen Deng was not using any mental illusions, but was simply reasoning with Wang Chao.

“Fellow Daoist, I think what you said makes a lot of sense, but I really have no interest in such a barren land as the Eastern Land. You should go and convert others.”

Wang Chao knew that Chen Deng had not deciphered the Seventy-Two Transformations technique, so he wanted to find an excuse to leave.

What is all this about?

The first time he grilled fish, the demones and witches Yu Ji swindled it away. The second time he grilled fish, a monk swindled it away under the pretext that "wine and meat pass through the intestines, but Buddha remains in the heart."

Now, not only are they going to steal his grilled fish, but they're even going to steal his dynasty.

Wang Chao stood up. This Four-Phase Buddhist disciple, Chen Deng, was no good. He should leave as soon as possible.

“Benefactor, what are you saying? Although my Eastern Land is a barren land, it is a paradise for the spirit. The body is just a shell, and the environment is just filth. What we should truly yearn for is the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.”

With a smile, Chen Deng intentionally or unintentionally drew upon the spiritual energy and released Wang Chao once more.

Wang Chao was seething with rage, but on the surface, he remained remarkably calm. "You want to reason with me? Well, I'll give you a proper explanation then."

"If you're pursuing paradise, why do you even need to eat? Just feast your mind!"

Why did you steal my grilled fish? Did I ever promise you I would share it with you?

The dynasty was no longer in a hurry. Since it was about reason, they had at least experienced the information explosion era, yet they were no match for a monk.

Although there's a saying that you shouldn't reason with a woman or a monk, Wang Chao was in a difficult situation and decided to go all out.

This Four-Phase Buddha Dust Lamp, just by talking about it, the dynasty wasn't actually afraid of him.

"Your words are surprising. Fish are born naturally, so why can't I eat what you eat?"

The Four-Phase Buddha Dust Lamp remained smiling, unhurried and composed. He had sensed that something seemed off about this dynasty, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what it was.

Having reached his level, he could already glimpse the secrets of heaven and understand cause and effect, so naturally he would not act rashly.

That's why he went through all that pleading and cajoling earlier. He wanted to force Wang Chao to take action, but he didn't expect that Wang Chao was so eloquent and had such unconventional thinking that he didn't play by the rules.

This further strengthened his competitive spirit, making him determined to persuade and defeat the dynasty.

"The fish are a gift from nature, but I'm the one who caught them, right? I'm the one who gathered firewood to grill the fish, right? And I'm the one who got this chili powder, right?"

You didn't contribute any effort or money, yet you're trying to get something for nothing. Is this how Buddhism operates?

I know your Eastern lands are barren and lack this and that, so there's nothing wrong with you coming out to swindle people. But your mistake is that you actually tried to swindle me.

The dynasty also imitated the Four Symbols Buddha Dust Lamp, smiling broadly.

……

Chen Deng was somewhat bewildered by Wang Chao's rambling words. This guy wasn't being unreasonable; he was just spouting nonsense!

The conversation went off-topic, and if it continued like this, it could go on for three days and three nights without ending. In the end, it's hard to tell who would be the one to convert whom.

He told Wang Chao to save all living beings from suffering, and Wang Chao told him that everyone has to look out for themselves. He told Wang Chao to purify his soul and cleanse himself, and Wang Chao told him that if he didn't go to hell, who would?

Ultimately, this is the fault of the ancients. They would come up with a theory for whatever they wanted to do.

The ancients said that even if a deal falls through, goodwill should remain, but they also said that even close brothers should keep clear accounts. The ancients said that a hero needs three helpers, but they also said that it's better to rely on yourself than on others. The ancients said that people should strive for higher positions, but they also said that the higher you climb, the harder you fall.

The ancients said that a word spoken is as good as a nail, but they also said that people's mouths are two-faced and can be right no matter what they say. The ancients said that even a starved camel is bigger than a horse, but they also said that a plucked phoenix is no better than a chicken. The ancients said that it is better to be a broken piece of jade than a whole piece of tile, but they also said that as long as the green hills remain, there will always be firewood to burn.

The ancients said that one cannot judge a book by its cover, nor can one measure the sea with a bushel; yet they also said that a person's chair and a horse's saddle are both important; they said that a prodigal son's return is more precious than gold; yet they also said that a leopard cannot change its spots.

The ancients said that taking a step back opens up a vast expanse of sky and sea, but they also said that in a narrow encounter, the brave will prevail. The ancients said that one only regrets not having read enough books when one needs them, but they also said that a scholar is useless in a hundred ways. The ancients said that a person should not do things in secret, but they also said that all's fair in war.

The ancients said that there is always a way out, but they also said that the net of heaven is vast and its meshes are wide, yet nothing escapes it. The ancients said that one should remain unstained by mud, but they also said that one becomes red with one's company and black with one's company. The ancients said that indigo is extracted from the indigo plant but is better than the plant itself, but they also said that old ginger is spicier.

There are endless principles, none of which are superior or inferior; the only difference lies in the person who articulates them.

In life, a considerable number of people, after achieving a certain level of success, begin to look down on others. They scoff at those who are better than themselves, thinking they are nothing special, while criticizing those who are not as good as themselves, deeming them worthless.

All roads lead to Rome. Those who are ahead don't need to give unsolicited advice to those who are confused behind them, nor do they need to give them overly absolute answers.

The true answer to anything can only be understood through personal experience.

People tend to believe that others' experiences and principles are just empty talk, since they haven't reached that level themselves.

Even when someone tells you the method, you still think they are hiding their true abilities.

The debate between the Dynasty and the Four Phases Buddha Dust Lamp was very insightful. They would not reach a conclusion unless the Dynasty really wanted to go to the East. Otherwise, Dust Lamp's efforts would be in vain.

“What you say is very good, benefactor. I understand.”

The Four-Phase Buddha Dust Lamp, unusually, began to become serious, sitting cross-legged with a solemn and dignified appearance.

His body began to float up, and in mid-air, Chen Deng's body began to emit a soft, dazzling light.

Have you attained enlightenment?

Wang Chao was somewhat taken aback. This Chen Deng was indeed a genius. Unless absolutely necessary, it was best not to make an enemy of him.

Taking advantage of Chendeng's state of enlightenment, Wang Chao quietly left.
