Firefly Journey

Chapter 62 Novice Traveling Merchant (2)

The capital of the principality, Ibiza.

Blue skies and white clouds, streaks of light flashing across the sky—the trails of various airships. In Yicheng, airships have become a common mode of transportation, and the residents are no longer surprised by them.

Above St. Louis, an airship powered by a dragon eagle slowly decelerated and descended.

As soon as the dragon eagle landed, a piece of fresh meat was thrown out, landing precisely in its mouth. It took a couple of bites, swallowing it whole without tasting anything.

The feeder was a rather handsome man with a slender build and delicate fingers. If it weren't for his short hair, he would probably be mistaken for a pretty girl.

The cabin door opened, and the "tourists" heading to Torreg town disembarked in an orderly fashion.

Hauglis, Favier Marley, Paninger, and Wind Chime came out one after another, with Cassius at the very back.

"It's just landing, why is everyone here to pick us up?" Cassius Bello looked around and said.

The word "pick up" was coined by Fengling. Sometimes, Cassius had to admit that she was particularly apt in her choice of names, so he used it.

Besides Fengling and the others who came down before him, there were three beautiful figures, all of whom were his students.

The boy who fed the dragon eagle earlier was named Mirashu, a "summoner," and the dragon eagle was one of his contracted beasts.

Since he had nothing better to do, he simply put the dragon eagle to work in the school's transportation department. The money it earned could not only feed the eagle itself, but also earn some extra money for its owner.

The other two women, one of whom is a pretty girl named Sabrina Broan, appears to be a mature and composed older sister, but is actually only 17 years old.

Like the Xu family and Demos, Broan holds a seat in the Duchy's Parliament.

The remaining fat guy is named Upton Somerfield, nicknamed "Armored Turtle." He is a "Tremor" after his second awakening, and his major is exactly the same as Cassius's. He is good at defensive magic.

"Hello, teacher." The three bowed slightly and greeted Cassius.

"Hmm." Cassius nodded, glanced around, and chuckled, "As expected, Lü Jianming isn't here. Where did he go?"

The oldest woman, Sabrina, said, "I went to call him, but no one was home. I don't know where he's been gallivanting off to."

"During my absence, did they complete the study materials I assigned?"

"Armored Turtle" Upton instinctively looked away, but then he suddenly realized, "I've accomplished it, what am I afraid of?" So he straightened up again.

Mirashu's expression remained unchanged; among the students personally led by Cassius, he had always been among the top.

Sabrina sighed, "Everyone is quite self-disciplined, except for that guy. You know, that willful prince from the East only listens to you. I, the class monitor, am just a figurehead..."

Each superhuman teacher at St. Louis Academy has their own classes. Cassius is extremely capable and has a high standard, so he only has fewer than ten students under his tutelage, which is very few in the entire academy.

The classes are named according to their order, and Sabrina and her classmates belong to Class 29.

“Don’t worry about him.” Cassius always taught according to the students’ individual needs and was very lenient with problem students. “I’ll talk to him later.”

Sabrina nodded and continued, "We're waiting for you not only to pick you up from the airport, but also for other things."

The principal found me and said that you should go see him after you return.

They've arrived as expected...

Cassius indicated that he understood, then left the others and headed towards the principal's office.

Seeing that the class monitor had finished talking with the teacher, Paninger abandoned his serious expression and pounced on Sabrina.

Sabrina was prepared and placed her hand in front of her chest to block the attack.

"Squad leader, have you missed me?!"

"I miss you all..." Sabrina replied dismissively.

"Tch, that makes me sad. Shouldn't I be the most special one?"

"I did not think."

Compared to Paninger's exaggerated manner, the boys' small talk was much more normal.

After exchanging a few greetings, the conversation ended there, and everyone prepared to go their separate ways.

The wind chimes moved the fastest.

She needed to go home. As the eldest daughter of the Xu family, and the one qualified to inherit the chair in the National Assembly, there were many things to take care of at home.

Cassius hurried along and arrived at the office building in the blink of an eye. The principal's office was on the top floor.

He didn't go through the door; instead, he vanished in a flash and reappeared inside the principal's office.

The principal was an elderly man in his eighties, with long white hair, a bulbous nose, and glasses. He looked like a kind and gentle elder.

Hearing the noise, Principal Ampera raised his dozing head and smiled kindly: "You're back now, so get some rest. There's no need to rush here first."

Cassius remained noncommittal. "If you're really not in a hurry, why would you send Sabrina to block the door?"

"It's okay, I have plenty of energy."

"Alright then, in that case, there are some things I'd like to talk to you about."

As he spoke, Ampera stood up.

"All ears."

Principal Ampera walked to the window and looked outside.

"Did you find anything significant in those divine ruins?"

“No,” Cassius answered truthfully. “If I had to say, my students did receive some benefits. Also, I took it upon myself to give a talented young man the opportunity to enroll.”

"Oh?" The principal raised an eyebrow, seemingly intrigued.

Cassius briefly recounted his trip to Torreg, without holding anything back.

After a long silence, Ampera said, "I'm curious, since you've decided to take him in, why did you set a 1 crystal coin threshold for him? You know, our school has a policy of waiving tuition for those exceptionally talented students from poor families."

Cassius was silent for a moment, then said, "Before an iron block becomes a sharp sword, it needs to be forged and refined by a blacksmith. Compared to that, I have been merciful. Besides, I will help him in other ways without his knowledge."

"Alright, I just hope that you, the blacksmith, can always recognize a gem."

When have I ever misjudged someone?

"That's true. Class 29 has always had excellent overall performance in the college, well, if you don't count those two."

Cassius quickly said, "Give me time. Paninger and Lü Jianming have unlimited potential. It's just that their personalities prevent them from studying properly. I will find a way to solve this."

"Fine, you can teach your students, I won't interfere. What I want to ask is, did you make a deal with 'Deathwhisper Grove'?"

"The main course is here," Cassius Bello sighed inwardly, pondering how to respond.

The headmaster, who came from the Church of Light, naturally obtained his information from there. He was certain that "The Deceiver" Erillo was a member of the Church of Death.

So I really was making a deal with Death, and I only just found out… Cassius thought to himself with a self-deprecating laugh.

“Yes, I want a seat in Congress, and their condition is that Ario Morris becomes a superhuman.”
