Firefly Journey

Chapter 33 Ancient God Ruins (2)

One after another, the extraordinary beings arrived at the entrance to the Divine Ruins, moving without hindrance. With so many extraordinary auras present, the magical beasts weren't fools and wouldn't recklessly provoke them.

The personnel are all in place, only the right opportunity is needed.

Without Cassius needing to say anything more, the powerful figures present stepped forward and stood in front of him.

This includes Lumer of Mechanical Wings, Jonathan the Werewolf, McCauley the Frost Troll, and several other Awakened Transcendents.

“Begin,” Cassius said calmly. “Infuse me with your magic.”

These powerful individuals exchanged glances before commencing their actions. Each unleashed their magical power, channeling it towards Cassius Bello.

The ancient forest, which blocked out the sky, became distorted at this moment. Everything in front of Lin Yuanran disappeared at a speed visible to the naked eye. The distorted space seemed to be torn apart, and a huge crack appeared.

"So this is the 'tomb passage' leading to the ruins of the ancient god... The way it's summoned is really forceful," Lin Yuanran thought to himself.

The crack expanded until it was four or five meters wide before stopping. Meanwhile, the superhumans with their eagle-like and wolf-like gazes were already eager to try, but Cassius remained silent, and no one dared to take the first step.

After opening the Gate to the Divine Ruins, Cassius Bello suddenly lurched forward, nearly losing his balance; the exertion had been immense. Once the gate was open, there was no need for constant mana input; a little bit every now and then was enough to maintain its operation.

The situation around him, including Lu Mo and the others, was not good either. Assisting in opening the Divine Ruins had exhausted them, leaving them as tired as old farmers who had worked in the fields all day.

Cassius cleared his throat: "Remember, don't cause any deaths. No matter when or where, life is always more precious than inanimate objects."

"Now, you can go in."

With permission from the person in charge, the extraordinary individuals were visibly excited, but they dared not be too presumptuous and entered one after another in the original order.

Lin Yuanran followed cautiously behind his seniors, keeping silent. Silence is an effective means of self-protection most of the time.

When most of the people in front had gone in, and it was the turn of the St. Louis students to step in, Cassius couldn't help but look over. His gaze was like that of a father seeing off his son who was about to embark on a long journey.

Hauglis took the lead, walking at the very front of the group. Fway tilted his head, smiled at Cassius, and waved.

In contrast, although Fengling and the others also glanced back, they didn't seem as active, especially Allen. If Lin Yuanran hadn't been so close to him, he wouldn't have even noticed the black hood moving slightly.

“Everyone takes turns, channeling mana into the passage every two hours. No objections?” Cassius asked everyone.

“No problem.” Lumer glanced at his watch. “Start the timer now.”

The others also expressed no objection and found places to rest in order to recover their depleted magical power.

From the outside, it was impossible to see what was happening inside the Divine Ruins. Cassius suddenly had a sudden inspiration and believed in the Sun God. He placed his right hand on his heart and murmured to himself, "May the light be with you."

The sky inside the Ruins of Gods was gloomy, devoid of both sun and moon, perpetually overcast. Cassius had told them beforehand about the conditions inside the ruins; it was a small space that Krumbo had created for himself, devoid of distinctions like sun, moon, and seasons, forever shrouded in a somber atmosphere.

"It doesn't seem any different from the outside," Paninger muttered. "It's so big, where are we supposed to find it?!"

Before them stretched an endless expanse of black earth, with no buildings in sight at the horizon.

The superhumans who entered before them hurried off in small groups in a certain direction, as if afraid their treasures would be stolen. However, they probably didn't even know where to begin.

Sharpening the axe won't delay the work of chopping wood. Fengling was the leader appointed by Cassius, and she didn't make any rash moves. The others also stayed in place with her.

“Paninger, why don’t you use ‘Rewind’ to see where that god who traveled through the Grim Reaper’s path is buried?” Fway said irrationally.

Oracle. Rewind allows one to observe events that occurred recently within a certain range from the perspective of the soul, but it has strict time limits. Considering Paninger's current strength as a Time Punisher, rewinding ten hours at Dupippon's house last time was already considered very strong. And Klenbo fell more than 1,300 years ago? You must be kidding me.

So Paninger simply ignored him and asked the wind chime, "Do you have a solution?"

Feng Ling said, "No, but that doesn't mean others don't either."

“Oh? What do you mean?” Fay raised an eyebrow.

"Did you see that person?"

Everyone followed her gaze and saw a man and a woman there; they were Robert's brother and sister.

At that moment, Finne Roberts was clutching the pendant around her snow-white neck, her eyes closed, muttering something unintelligible. They were too far away for anyone to hear.

What is certain is that she seems to be using some kind of divine oracle to find out the location of the ancient god's relics.

"Shall we go and cooperate with them?" Lin Yuanran asked tentatively.

"Cooperation is based on mutual benefit, so why should we pay a price?" Fengling said.

Lin Yuanran looked blank, not understanding what Feng Ling meant.

Fway patted him on the shoulder with a bright smile: "Sometimes, you can collaborate without contacting the other party, without them even knowing."

Upon hearing this, Lin Yuanran understood. It was stalking, um, basically freeloading...

"But if we follow them all the way, we'll definitely be discovered, right?" Lin Yuanran said. They're not stupid; why would they willingly let you get something for free?

“You don’t need to worry about it,” Wind Chime said, giving Paninger and Allen a wink.

The two understood each other, and one immediately flew into the sky. From this vantage point, even from a distance, they could keep track of each other's every move—an excellent observation position. Besides spying on the brother and sister, they could also keep an eye on other extraordinary individuals, and if anyone had a clue, they could immediately follow up.

Racial talent is something you can only envy...

Among the extraordinary individuals who entered the Divine Ruins, only Paninger could fly; the benefits of industry monopoly are self-evident.

Of course, it's possible that others also possess the ability to fly, but they just haven't shown it yet. However, at least for now, Paninger's racial talent has saved the students of St. Louis a lot of trouble.

On the other side, Allen intentionally or unintentionally moved closer to Robert and his sister. Since the passive talent of the Shadow Mage is to reduce his own presence, he would not attract attention in a short period of time.

With air and land attacks combined, we've got this in the bag!

It was only then that Lin Yuanran realized just how formidable their talents were on the path to the extraordinary, given how different their personalities were among the St. Louis students.
