(Note: The next few chapters will mainly fill in the gaps in the characters' backgrounds. They may not involve playing cards and may be a bit short. The timeline will run concurrently with You Dong's shop competition.)

Outside an orphanage.

Gu Jun and You Qiu stood there. You Qiu looked perfectly normal, but Gu Jun's eyes were sparkling.

You Qiu asked, "Gu Jun, how long has it been since you came back here?"

Gu Jun rubbed his eyes and replied, "I was sold to Sin City by human traffickers when I was six years old. It's been about ten years since I came back."

Then, Aunt Mei pointed to Gu Jun and said to You Yue, "Little Yue, this is Gu Jun, whom I often mention to you."

You Yue smiled at Gu Jun and said, "Hello."

Gu Jun stood up excitedly and bowed deeply to You Yue: "Thank you for saving Aunt Mei and the others."

You Yue said politely, "Actually, it was all thanks to my brother. If he hadn't kicked the door open, we wouldn't have been able to get in and wake Aunt Mei and the children."

Gu Jun instantly understood what Aunt Mei was going to say. The image of You Qiu, enraged and humiliated, brutally killing him in the duel and then stabbing him in the back flashed through his mind...

Aunt Mei joked, "What? You're practically my godson, how can you bear to see your godmother unable to hold her grandson?"

Gu Jun changed the subject: "I'm going to check on the children in the backyard!" With that, Gu Jun ran towards the backyard.
