Black Market Boss: His Beloved Wife's Lazy Life

Chapter 5 Going to the countryside

The next day, early in the morning, the sound of nagging could be heard from the Shang family home.

"Nannan, keep the money we gave you in separate places. Be careful when you go to the countryside alone," Shang's mother instructed Shang Yanfang with concern.

"Okay, Mother." After saying that, Shang Yanfang put the money her family had given her into her personal storage space.

After all, nothing beats putting it in your personal space.

"Is it all set?" Mrs. Shang asked. She had originally intended to set it for her daughter herself, but her daughter insisted on doing it herself.

If she doesn't believe me, she can go look for it after she hides it.

"Mom, I've put it away safely. You can look for it if you don't believe me." Shang Yanfang hid the money and told her elderly mother to look for it.

Shang's mother searched all over but couldn't find it.

"Huh, where did I find it? Never mind, never mind. You can keep it." Mrs. Shang searched all of Shang Yanfang's things but couldn't find it, and only then was she relieved.

With her heart at ease, Shang's mother went back to the kitchen to prepare food for her daughter on the train.

"My dear girl! I boiled some eggs for you today and made a bowl of dumplings, which I put in a lunchbox for you."

I also made a bowl of braised pork for you and put it in another lunchbox. You can just heat it up with hot water when you want to eat it.

The food and snacks were all placed in the small cloth bag outside.

"When you're on the train, put this small cloth bag on the table, and you can put the two larger pieces of luggage on the overhead rack." Like countless other mothers, Shang's mother gave her child these instructions.

Just as Shang's mother was about to start nagging, Shang Yanfang gave her a big hug.

"Mother, I will miss you." Shang Yanfang said, her voice choked with emotion.

"Daughter, don't cry. If you miss your mother, I'll ask for leave to come see you. You can also write to your mother."

Shang's mother couldn't help but choke up a little.

Once the two had calmed down a bit, Shang's father came to urge them on.

"Darling, it's almost time. We're going to miss our 10 o'clock train."

As she spoke, she pointed to the watch on her wrist.

Following her father's instructions, Shang Yanfang glanced at the new watch on her wrist.

It is indeed nine o'clock.

Even though her home is very close to the train station, it still takes 30 minutes to get there.

We also need to arrive at the train station early to meet with the people from the rural affairs office.

The whole family sped up.

Shang Erge and Shang Fu each carried a large package.

Shang Xiaodi, Shang Guokang was holding the small cloth bag that he had prepared for her to eat.

A mother and her two daughters were walking hand in hand ahead.

She was saying things that men couldn't get a word in edgewise.

After arriving at the train station, Shang Yanfang quickly found the office for educated youth.

After registering her name and obtaining her train ticket, Shang Yanfang found the corresponding train.

This train departs from Beijing and arrives in Heilongjiang Province.

The fact that she boarded the train at the starting station and got off at the final station made Shang Yanfang feel a sense of relief.

How wonderful it is to not have to squeeze and push!

I remember how terrifying it was to squeeze onto a train, as described on TV and in novels!

The men of the Shang family placed their luggage around Shang Yanfang's seat.

Shang Yanfang, her older sister, and her mother were still there, reluctant to part.

"Okay, okay, I've put your luggage under your seat for you. Don't forget when you get off at your stop."

The father was instructing his youngest daughter.

“Yes, Dad. I will.” Shang Yanfang replied.

"Shh, shh," the train police officer blew his whistle.

"Attention passengers, the train is about to arrive at the station. Passengers who have not yet boarded, please do so as soon as possible."

Passengers who are not boarding should disembark as soon as possible.

Upon hearing the train police officer's urging, Shang Yanfang immediately boarded the train.

Shang Yanfang's parents, standing by her window, reminded her, "My dear girl! When you arrive, write a letter home and send a telegram."

"Okay, Mom and Dad."

After he finished speaking, the train made a "whoosh" sound, which meant that the train was about to depart.

"Mom and Dad, go home! Don't stay so close to the train," Shang Yanfang said, leaning against the window.

“Okay, okay,” Mr. and Mrs. Shang replied.

As they were saying this, they were a little further away from the track.

Clang, clang, clang, the train slowly started moving.

Shang Yanfang saw her mother running alongside the train for a while.

Shang Yanfang, who had been leaning against the car window, didn't sit down in her seat until she could no longer see her relatives.

Watching the scenery outside the window keep rushing past.

Shang Yanfang felt a mix of emotions.

Having left the place where the original owner had lived for eighteen years, he didn't know where to go or when he could return to this homeland.

A deep sense of melancholy welled up within me.

Her eyes involuntarily welled up with tears.

She quickly raised her head, forcing the tears back.

So looking up really can make tears stay back!

A little girl sitting opposite Shang Yanfang quietly handed her a handkerchief.

Suddenly noticing a handkerchief in front of her, Shang Yanfang took it and said, "Thank you."

She wiped away her tears with a handkerchief, silently cheering herself on: Shang Yanfang, you're the best! Keep going!!!

"I'll trade you my handkerchief for this one."

As he spoke, he took out his handkerchief and handed it to the little girl opposite him.

As for why I didn't say I'd return it to her after washing it...

Because I was on the train, there was nowhere to wash. Besides, I didn't know anyone there, and I didn't know where the person opposite me was going.

As for why money wasn't used to buy it, it's because cash transactions weren't allowed at that time. However, bartering was permitted.

As for why she used the girl's handkerchief instead of her own, it was because she had forgotten. After all, she had always used tissues before and had simply forgotten.

“Okay! Hello, my name is He Lingling, from Dongcheng District. I’m going to Heilongjiang Province, to Kaoshan Brigade of Hongxing Commune, to work in the countryside.”

He said this after taking the handkerchief.

"Hello, my name is Shang Yanfang, I'm from Nancheng. It seems we went to the same place in the countryside."

After listening to the other party's introduction, Shang Yanfang also gave a self-introduction.

"My name is Yang Xiaohao. I'm from Nancheng. I'm also going to Hongxing Commune in Heilongjiang Province, but I'm going to Lijia Brigade to work in the countryside. I don't know if it's far from yours."

If it's not too far, I'll come visit you guys sometime!

"A boy sitting next to He Lingling said."

After the boy finished his introduction, all three of them turned their attention to the little girl sitting next to Shang Yanfang.

Seeing that all three were looking at her, the little girl said shyly, "My name is Li Zhaodi. I'm also from Kaoshan Brigade."

The sound was as soft as a mosquito's buzz.

Just from the name, you can tell that this family is a family that favors sons over daughters.

"The three of you are all from the same place! I'm the only one who's going to a different place to work in the countryside!"

Yang Xiaohao said with a disappointed look.

"That's true! The three of us girls should take care of each other from now on!"

He Lingling said proudly, and took out four White Rabbit milk candies.

He gave one to each of the three people, and then peeled off the wrapper and ate the last one himself.

Shang Yanfang also took out the pastries her mother had prepared for her from her cloth bag and gave one piece to each of the three of them.

Yang Xiaohao took out a jar of fruit from his cloth bag and used a spoon to scoop a spoonful for each of the three people in their lunchboxes.

Thanks to the delicious food, the group quickly became acquainted.

Li Zhaodi kept her head down, quietly looking at the milk candy, pastries, and canned fruit in front of her.

She silently took out four cucumbers and four tomatoes from her bag.

He handed them to the three of them and said.

"These are plants I grew myself at home; the earlier I planted them, the earlier they bore fruit."

"Thank you, Zhao Di. I really like eating them. I often eat cucumbers and tomatoes in the summer."

As he spoke, he couldn't help but take a big bite out of the tomato.
