Yuan Danqiu and Cen Xun both marveled at the luxury of the Xu residence. They escorted Li Bai and, led by Wu Chao, went inside. Master Xu, along with Master Ziyang and Meng Haoran, followed closely behind, while Xuanmeng and I followed behind them.

"Yuehua, how much money does it take to build such a beautiful house? It must be so comfortable to live in." Xuanmeng stared wide-eyed, looking around with envy.

"Xuan, those who live here have their own troubles. Isn't it good for you to live in the Taoist temple? Apart from cultivation, you are free and do whatever you want all day long," I said.

"Sometimes it's just so boring, I can only sit in front of the door and watch the white clouds drift by in the sky." Xuanmeng thought of his days in the Taoist temple, his eyes filled with disappointment.

We entered the hall, took our seats according to who was the host and who was the guest, and the servants brought out tea. Xuanmeng stood next to Master Ziyang, and I stood behind Li Bai.

Across from Li Bai sat a young man with thick eyebrows and large eyes, wearing a purple silk robe and a scholar's hat, who would occasionally glance at Li Bai.

Master Xu stood up from his seat, walked to the young man's side, and introduced him to everyone: "This is my son, Xu Zijun. Jun'er, come, let me introduce you."

Master Xu introduced me to everyone, starting with Master Ziyang. When he introduced Li Bai, he said to Xu Zijun, "This is your brother-in-law, Li Bai. He is exceptionally talented. You should learn from him in the future."

Li Bai and Xu Zijun exchanged greetings and returned to their seats.

Li Bai stood up, knelt down before Master Xu, and said, "Father-in-law, please accept my bow." He then bowed deeply and kowtowed three times.

At this moment, Xiaoqian came to the hall and said to Master Xu, "Master, Madam wants to ask Young Master Li and Yuehua to go to the study. She has some questions for them."

"My dear son-in-law, you and Yuehua should go with Xiaoqian," said Master Xu.

Li Bai and I followed Xiaoqian to the outside of the study. Xiaoqian took my hand and waved to me. I immediately understood that the person in the study was not Madam Xu, but Miss Xu.

Only then did Li Bai raise his head to look at Xu Ziyan, his eyes full of tenderness and affection.

Xu Ziyan also turned to look at Li Bai, her eyes unblinking, and the two stared at each other like that.

Li Bai walked out of the study, followed by Xu Ziyan.

Seeing Madam Xu sitting in the courtyard, Li Bai stepped forward, knelt down on both knees, and said, "Mother-in-law, your son-in-law kowtows to you." After saying that, he kowtowed three times to Madam Xu.

Madam Xu was overjoyed. She stood up and helped Li Bai up with both hands, saying, "Let your mother take a good look at me. I have a son-in-law now, and he's no ordinary man. Those heartless women are so envious!" After saying this, Madam Xu took out a handkerchief and wiped away her tears.

Madam Xu led us out of the courtyard and through a short corridor in the garden to the back dining room. Two beautiful middle-aged women were sitting on chairs beside the dining table. Upon seeing Madam Xu, they stood up and greeted her, "Sister." One of them sat down again, while the other came over and pulled out a chair for Madam Xu, saying, "Please sit down, sister."

"Don't just sit there, come and eat," Madam Xu said.

The seated woman moved to the dining table, while the standing woman called to a six or seven-year-old girl playing nearby, "Zixia, stop playing and come eat."

The little girl skipped over, called out "Auntie" and "Second Auntie" before sitting down at the table.
