Don't meet me in your next life.
Chapter 9 Battle
More than ten hours later, the plane landed, and Lin Lubai and Xiao Zhao arrived in Africa. The two rushed to the location given by Xiao A.
Following the navigation, Lin Lubai arrived at a factory and saw many shipping containers filled with the goods he wanted.
A tall, muscular man with shiny black skin led them into the office.
Inside the office, there were several people, all of whom, except for the man eating instant noodles, had dark skin.
After a brief introduction, Xiao A handed the prepared plan to Xiao Bai.
“These 34 boxes of goods are a bit of a headache. It’s too risky to take them all the way. We need to split them into two routes. What do you think is the best way to do that?”
"This is my first meal of the day, all for your goods. Remember to bring your wife and marriage certificate next time," Little A complained to Lin Lubai.
"Here," Lin Lubai said, opening the photos he had taken on his phone and handing them to Xiao A.
A looked at the phone again and again, muttering to herself, "This doesn't look photoshopped."
Xiao Zhao, who was standing next to him, couldn't help but laugh and said, "It's stamped by the Civil Affairs Bureau, not photoshopped. Our boss is taken now."
Little A exclaimed as if she had discovered a new continent: "Wow, that's amazing! They've kept it well hidden. We're going to their wedding!"
Xiao A casually posted the photo in the group chat, and the group immediately went wild.
By the time Lin Lubai finished reviewing the plan, his phone had received 99+ messages.
He gritted his teeth and glared at A: "You just sold me out like that? Are you even human?!"
"You got married and didn't even tell us. Are you even human?" A retorted.
"We've just registered our marriage, it's not stable yet. I didn't tell you because I was afraid you'd scare him away," Lin Lubai said with a smile.
"Xiao Bai, it's been so many years since we last got together. We should find a chance to get together." Xiao A's tone was somewhat heavy.
"Okay, let's get together after I get married," Lin Lubai replied.
"It's just the registration, it's not stable yet. I'll definitely let you know when I get married, brothers and sisters, please don't be offended!" Lin Lubai quickly replied to the message in the group.
After Zhou Qiang and the others arrived and rested briefly, Lin Lubai and his group immediately split into three groups and set off.
Xiao Zhao led his men to escort 10 containers through Port A, avoiding Jili Road, as that area was prone to accidents.
Xiao A and Lin Lubai, along with others, escorted 14 containers for three hours before setting off again, also via port A.
Zhou Qiang led his men to Port B, which was relatively safe, but the journey was twice as long as that of Port A. Moreover, given the country's security situation, no one could guarantee their safety.
Zhou Qiang is a veteran, and he was very vigilant along the way. Although the route was relatively safe, he did not let his guard down.
A few hours later, Xiao Zhao and his team safely delivered the goods to Port A, and Lin Lubai and Xiao A had already set off.
Zhou Qiang encountered a rush to buy his goods.
Sitting in the front of the car, Zhou Qiang felt that something was wrong with this stretch of road; it was eerily quiet.
Both sides are residential areas, so they should be quite lively. There's no reason for them to be so quiet.
"Is there no one in this village?" Zhou Qiang asked the driver.
"Yes, but it's a bit strange today; it seems like there's no one here." The driver was also a little puzzled.
As they approached the fork in the road, Zhou Qiang's eyes were dazzled by something. His professional instincts kicked in, and he immediately realized that it must be a gun.
"Take the right, quick, speed up and go past," Zhou Qiang ordered the driver.
"Then we can't follow the original route," the driver said, puzzled.
“There’s an ambush there,” Zhou Qiang explained.
"Keep your distance, there's an ambush ahead. Everyone be ready at any time," Zhou Qiang instructed.
The truck sped up and moved into the right lane. Several people rushed out from the left lane; they were all middle-aged men, dressed in tattered clothes.
They were carrying shovels and sticks, and they started smashing the truck, trying to stop them.
The man carrying the gun ran out and fired at the wheels of the truck, trying to stop it, but the truck was going too fast and he failed.
Zhou Qiang threw a smoke bomb at the burly men, instantly making them unable to open their eyes.
The few burly men, who were not particularly evil, had never seen anything like this before. Fearing that the smoke bombs were poisonous, they dropped their tools and ran away.
In the end, Zhou Qiang and his men escaped without getting out of the car, thus avoiding a fierce battle.
Zhou Qiang's heart was pounding. If he had been any later, they would have been in a fierce fight. Fortunately, they hadn't encountered any formidable opponents.
They took a detour and were an hour slower than planned, but the journey was still relatively smooth, and they arrived safely at Port A.
Zhou Qiang and Xiao Zhao fared relatively well, but Xiao A and Lin Lubai were not so lucky; they encountered opponents who were all armed.
Fifty kilometers from the port, a large rock blocked their path. Little A glanced at Lin Lubai, and both of them understood that a battle was about to break out.
Xiao A gave instructions over the walkie-talkie: he and Lin Lubai were responsible for removing the rocks, while the others would cover the truck's departure. The truck should not be turned off; they should drive away immediately.
As soon as Xiao A got out of the car, seven or eight people rushed out from both sides of the road and surrounded him. They were all holding guns. Xiao A quickly raised his hands and pretended to surrender.
Just as they were about to grab Xiao A, Lin Lubai jumped out of the car and opened fire on them, instantly taking down two burly men.
Upon hearing the gunshots, the people behind immediately jumped down and attacked the group, and a fierce battle ensued.
Little A threw a smoke grenade, and the burly men scattered and retreated to the side of the road. No one could see the road clearly and no one wanted to die.
Taking advantage of the chaos, Xiao A and the tall guy who jumped out of the car behind them moved the large rock in the middle of the road away, while the others increased their firepower to cover them.
Just as they removed the stones, a burly man spotted them and opened fire on them with a gun.
Lin Lubai dodged to the side and saw the bullets heading towards Xiao A. He pushed Xiao A aside, saving her from the bullets.
But with that push, Lin Lubai wasn't so lucky; when he turned around, his arm was still shot.
"Quick, get in the car!" Little A shouted to him.
A relatively short person stayed behind to help provide cover.
"Mr. Lin, you're injured," the shorter man said.
"It's okay, I'm fine," Lin Lubai said.
"Okay, boss, you come too." The short guy wanted him and Little A to get in the car first, but Lin Lubai refused.
"Little A, let them go first, we'll clean up the mess," Lin Lubai said to Little A.
"Can it work?" Little A yelled at Lin Lubai.
“No problem, no man is incapable.” Lin Lubai grinned.
"Everyone, get on the bus quickly. Xiaobai and I will be the last ones," Xiao A ordered his men.
Finally, everyone got on the bus, and A and the short guy covered for them as they left.
As the last truck drove away, they leaped and grabbed onto both sides of the truck door.
The two men fought fiercely with the people behind them while trying their best to keep themselves steady.
Lin Lubai's hand was in so much pain that his face turned pale, but he gritted his teeth and persevered.
Upon reaching a safe area, the car slowly came to a stop. Lin Lubai climbed into the car and took off his coat, his arms already stained with blood.
"I thought you'd become a weakling after not having any real combat for so long." Little A took the gauze, bandaged his wound, and then continued sailing towards the port.
After this ordeal, they finally arrived safely at the port. All the containers were intact, and Lin Lubai breathed a sigh of relief.
Little A found a first-aid kit and asked someone to remove the bullet from Lin Lubai. Because there was no anesthetic, his face was contorted in pain, but he didn't utter a sound.
Remove the bullet and bandage him up.
The ship was about to depart, and there was no time for idle chatter. Lin Lubai handed Xiao A a card: "Treat the brothers to a treat, and also, give my regards to the brothers and sisters!"
"Okay." Little A gritted her teeth and accepted.
"Have a safe trip, and remember to bring your wife next time." Little A waved to him.
"Okay." Lin Lubai didn't waste any words and turned to enter the cabin.
Lin Lubai knew that although he had the raw materials, there was still a battle waiting for him in the country, and no one could stop him from doing what he was going to do.
