Don't meet me in your next life.

Chapter 33 Grandpa Adds Fuel to the Fire

In the president's office of the Lu Corporation, Lu Chengmin was so anxious he was jumping up and down.

Lin Lubai's suppression of the Lu family made Lu Chengmin feel suffocated. The Lu family was being pressured from all sides at the same time, and it seemed that the Lu family was about to be crushed by Lin Lubai.

At this moment, Lu Chengmin remembered someone. If he stepped forward, Lin Lubai would definitely not put the Lu family to death again.

"Dad, you should call Lin Lubai right away and tell him to stop. If he keeps going like this, he'll ruin the Lu family business. The Lu family business is the foundation you worked so hard to build," Lu Chengmin said to Lu Yaodong.

“I don’t care about what’s going on between you and your father, and I can’t interfere. If you hadn’t been so headstrong back then, things wouldn’t be like this today,” Lu Yaodong said, somewhat angrily.

Lu Yaodong knew perfectly well how he had treated Xiaobai and his mother. After Xiaobai's mother left, he thought Lu Yaodong would change and treat Xiaobai better. However, Lu Yaodong remained unchanged. If it weren't for Xiaobai's maternal grandfather's quick action, there would be no eldest grandson of his.

"Dad, no matter what, I'm still surnamed Lu. He ruined the Lu family, not the Lin family." Lu Chengmin wanted to say something more.

“I won’t make a move. Even if the Lu family doesn’t have it, I’ll give it all to Xiaobai without any objection. You and Xiaochen can live a life of comfort and security. What’s the use of having so much money?” Lu Yaodong said.

"Dad, can't you think about the future generations of the Lu family, or about the long-time employees of the Lu Corporation?"

Lu Chengmin hoped that his father could speak to Lin Lubai, so that Lin Lubai would not put him in a deadly situation. This was his last straw.

“If I can exchange the Lu family for my grandson and help him let go of the past, then I am willing to give up the Lu family.” Lu Yaodong directly shut Lu Chengmin up.

Seeing that there was no hope of saving his father, Lu Chengmin had no choice but to leave.

In Lin Lubai's office, his grandfather was making a phone call to him.

"Xiaobai, come back this weekend and bring Qiaoqiao with you," Grandpa said kindly.

"I know. But it's my uncle's birthday, so it wouldn't be appropriate for Qiaoqiao to go." Lin Lubai didn't plan to bring Su Qiaoqiao, after all, given their current situation, it wouldn't be good for them to be together.

“I told you to bring her back, so bring her back. She won’t come back no matter where you are. Her grandfather has come to see me several times. He clearly and logically told me to call you back and bring her back with you.” My grandfather’s words left no room for argument.

"Okay, I understand." Lin Lubai agreed.

Lin Lubai's grandfather gave him everything, and Lin Lubai would never disobey his grandfather's orders. In fact, aside from forcing him to return from Africa, this was only the second time his grandfather had taken control of him.

Time flies, and the weekend arrived in the blink of an eye. Lin Lubai called the driver and took Su Qiaoqiao back to the city.

Upon arriving in Lucheng, Lin Lubai made an excuse that he had something to do and asked the driver to drop him off at the company so he could take Su Qiaoqiao back first.

After the driver, Su Qiaoqiao, returned home, she came to pick him up and take him back to the Lin family home.

However, as soon as he entered the Lin family's house, he found many cars parked in front of the door.

Stepping through the gate, I saw that the banquet hall on the left was beautifully decorated, the stage had been set up, and more than twenty tables had been placed there.

Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that there were quite a few media reporters among them.

The sharp-eyed Lin Lubai noticed that Su Qiaoqiao and her grandfather had arrived, and the two were chatting happily with her grandfather.

Lin Lubai thought it was just a simple birthday celebration for his uncle, but there were already quite a few guests in the banquet hall.

Lin Lubai felt inexplicably uneasy. It was just his uncle's birthday, wasn't it? He thought it would just be a simple family dinner, but the festivities were so grand, even more extravagant than his grandfather's birthday.

"Xiaobai, come here to Grandpa." Grandpa immediately noticed Lin Lubai who had just come in.

"Say hello to Grandpa Su," Grandpa said to Xiaobai.

"Hello, Grandpa Su." Xiaobai deliberately kept her distance.

"Brother Xiaobai," Su Qiaoqiao called out in a coquettish tone, her face flushed.

"Alright, go upstairs and change your clothes. There are so many guests, don't embarrass me," Grandpa said.

"Okay, Grandpa Su, you two chat. I'll go change my clothes first," Lin Lubai said.

Lin Lubai hurried to find his uncle.

"Happy birthday, Uncle." I saw my eldest uncle chatting with my youngest uncle in the study.

"Okay, thank you, Xiaobai." The eldest uncle looked at him with a strange expression.

"Uncle, Uncle, why aren't you going out to greet the guests?" Lin Lubai asked curiously.

"Haha, it's good that you and Grandpa are taking care of things. I need to discuss something with your eldest uncle." The younger uncle smiled slyly.

Lin Lubai always felt that his uncle's gaze towards him was different from usual, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what was different.

"Uncle, is Uncle too excited today?" Lin Lubai asked his uncle.

"No, why do you say that?" the uncle asked in surprise.

"He seemed a bit strange today," Lin Lubai said, voicing his doubts.

"No way, you're the one acting weird." Uncle chuckled. "Tell your uncle how things are going between you and that Su Qiaoqiao?"

“Su Qiaoqiao? Us? It’s impossible for me and her.” Lin Lubai shook his head.

"You still want to keep it from us? Such a big thing has happened, do you think we don't know?" the uncle said with a smile.

"No, what could possibly be wrong with us?" Lin Lubai asked, somewhat puzzled.

“Don’t try to do what happened last time, secretly get married and then divorced. Last time, we were all scolded terribly by Grandpa, who said we didn’t care about you enough,” the uncle said.

"There's really nothing between Su Qiaoqiao and me. If there were, I would have told you." Lin Lubai smiled.

"Tch, trying to hide it from us? A quick internet search will show it all. Do you think we're all old folks who don't use the internet?" Uncle retorted to Lin Lubai.

"Online? You mean my date with Su Qiaoqiao?" Lin Lubai asked.

"See? They're even on a date now, and they still won't admit it." Uncle snorted.

“Uncle, that’s someone deliberately spreading rumors. That photo was taken on the day you took Su Qiaoqiao there. I was having dinner with Su Qiaoqiao when someone took it secretly,” Lin Lubai explained.

"Taken secretly? Then why are you hugging Su Qiaoqiao? Isn't this a date?" his uncle asked him.

"What do you mean I was hugging Su Qiaoqiao? That's a misunderstanding. Someone knocked her down, and then I helped her up." Lin Lubai was speechless.

“Look at the photos yourself. Where did this person come from? There’s not a soul in sight. You’re telling me you bumped into someone? No, do you believe it or not?” the uncle questioned.

"Well, I'm in deep trouble now," Lin Lubai said. "Wait, does Grandpa know about this too?"

"You didn't know we could invite the Su family today, and that's why we're making such a big fuss?" his uncle asked him back.

"Oh no, I have to talk to Grandpa about this," Lin Lubai said.

"No, what you just said is true? You're not secretly dating?" the uncle asked incredulously.

"What do you mean by 'dating'? I'm telling the truth. How could I possibly like Su Qiaoqiao? If I liked her, would I have waited until now?" Lin Lubai said somewhat anxiously.

"Well, this is going to be interesting," the uncle said deliberately, drawing out his words.

Upon hearing his uncle's words, Lin Lubai's right eyelid twitched.
