The Otherworldly Journey of a Quick Transmigrator
Chapter 23 Ancient Fantasy 19
Su Yuanyuan followed slowly behind her parents. Now her home was far from the villagers, but it was much closer to their land.
They arrived in just a few minutes.
Su Jiye placed the basket on the open ground under the tree, picked up a hoe, and began to work.
Su Yuanyuan and her mother put on gloves and squatted down in the field to pull weeds. The gloves were made by Su Yuanyuan herself, as they were originally going to pull the weeds with their bare hands.
When she was a child, out of curiosity, she cut her hand while pulling weeds, so she made several pairs of gloves herself.
Her father felt sorry for them. Her mother and she rarely worked in the fields before, and no matter what, her father would not agree.
Only after they got gloves did her father agree to let them do some light work like weeding and sowing seeds, and luckily their family didn't have much land.
Su Yuanyuan focused on her work, hoping to finish before noon, otherwise she would have to go out in the blazing sun in the afternoon. In ancient times, there was no sunscreen, and she didn't want to get tanned.
"Yuanyuan, take a break and have some water."
Her father's voice came from above her head. Su Yuanyuan looked up and saw her father standing in front of her with a water bucket.
"Thank you, Dad." Su Yuanyuan smiled sweetly at her father, reached out and took a sip.
Turning around, I saw that she had already finished most of the work. She rubbed her sore back, saying that she hadn't felt it while working, but felt tired as soon as she stopped.
Su Yuanyuan wiped the sweat from her forehead, squinted at the sky, and saw that it was a clear and sunny day without a single cloud.
"Mom, you go back first. Dad and I will finish the rest in a little while."
Walking under the shade of a tree, Su Yuanyuan sat down next to her mother. She thought it best to let her mother go back, as her face was already red from the sun.
"It's okay, it's only a little bit, we can speed things up together."
Moon Maiden shook her head. She wanted to finish the work together and go back. How could she let her daughter go back without resting?
Su Jiye walked up to them, picked up the water from the basket, and took a big gulp.
"You two can go back now. I can finish the rest of the work in less than fifteen minutes. I don't need you two."
"No, that won't do. I'll tire you out."
Moon Maiden frowned in disapproval; she felt sorry for her too.
"This is nothing, I'm not tired at all. Don't worry, go back and prepare some food for me, I'm starving."
Moon Lady rolled her eyes at him, "Fine, fine, I'll go back now."
“Yuanyuan, go back with your mother and help her feed the chickens.”
Having settled things with his wife, Su Jiye then turned his attention to his daughter.
What could Su Yuanyuan do? Seeing her father's insistence on kicking them out, she could only nod in agreement.
They would start chasing people away every time they did even a little bit of work.
Su Yuanyuan took out the water bottle and handed it to her father. She threw all the gloves into the basket, and she would take these back with her.
After returning home, Su Yuanyuan put down her things, washed her hands, and then her mother went to the kitchen to cook while she started feeding the chickens.
Looking at the chickens, so fat they could barely fly, Su Yuanyuan felt a great sense of accomplishment; they were all raised by her.
Her father returned shortly after. Su Yuanyuan looked at him silently; she had just finished feeding the chickens when her father came back.
So, she and her mother were actually making things worse by following along.
"Dad, is everything done?" Su Yuanyuan asked, still unwilling to give up.
"It's all done, so we don't need to go out this afternoon."
Su Jiye patted the dirt off his clothes, then went to fetch water to wash his hands, and took the opportunity to reply to her.
Su Yuanyuan turned around and dumped all the chicken feed on the ground, then silently packed up her things and went back into the house.
She stayed at home quietly for a few days, but then she couldn't stand it anymore. She felt uncomfortable all over and wanted to go out for a walk.
When she had some free time, Su Yuanyuan went to town to find Lin Zhixing and the others. She went into the Shidinglou restaurant and headed to the backyard.
Behind Shidinglou is a sizable courtyard, which is Lin Zhixing's private residence.
Normally, Su Yuanyuan could come and go as she pleased, but today she was stopped outside the courtyard by a servant.
"Miss Su, you can't go in yet, the master has other matters to attend to."
The servant stood in front of Su Yuanyuan, looking apologetic.
Why? Is anyone inside?
Su Yuanyuan could only stop and look at the servant with a puzzled expression.
"Young Master Zhou is inside. The master said he has something to discuss with Young Master Zhou and that no one should disturb him."
Su Yuanyuan narrowed her eyes. Ruoshui was here too? She looked at the empty courtyard, with only the servant guarding outside.
what!
A playful glint flashed in Su Yuanyuan's eyes. "Then I'll go wait up ahead. Have your master come over when he's done with his work."
"Yes, Miss Su." The servant bowed respectfully and watched her walk away.
Su Yuanyuan sat down in a private room on the third floor, ordered a pot of tea and two kinds of snacks, and leaned back comfortably in her chair.
Lin Zhixing is truly inhuman. I wonder if they told their families. If they didn't, he dares to be so presumptuous. Su Yuanyuan admires him.
Su Yuanyuan waited for Lin Zhixing for two pots of tea before he finally arrived. Looking at Lin Zhixing walking with a swagger, Su Yuanyuan focused her gaze on what was behind him.
Unfortunately, only Lin Zhixing came, followed by a servant.
"Where's Ruoshui? Isn't he here with you? Why haven't I seen him?"
Su Yuanyuan asked the question knowingly, and her hands started itching as she looked at the person whose face was stiff from smiling.
"He said he was tired and needed to rest for a while.
Lin Zhixing coughed awkwardly, sat down, and began to straighten the corners of his clothes.
Su Yuanyuan rolled her eyes and scoffed inwardly, "Did you even say that?"
"Huh? What did you say?" Lin Zhixing was confused.
"Have you told his family about your relationship?"
Su Yuanyuan looked at him coldly, feeling that neither of them was reliable at all.
"Oh, I told you, you were right. His two older brothers both know, and they've been waiting for us to confess. Luckily, I heard about your past, or we would have been in big trouble."
Lin Zhixing felt a chill run down his spine at the mention of this. Ruoshui's brother was clearly waiting for them to confess; he knew everything about their relationship.
Including the advice he gave Su Yuanyuan, for which he was severely reprimanded, who said he was lucky he didn't do it, otherwise he would never have agreed to his relationship with Ruoshui.
"It seems they've agreed to your relationship."
Su Yuanyuan also secretly breathed a sigh of relief. It was best if her family members were understanding of their situation, otherwise it could easily lead to tragedy.
"Yes, they agreed. His brothers are even willing to help us persuade his father."
Lin Zhixing grinned foolishly as he spoke, and began to ramble on about his two brothers-in-law, which made Su Yuanyuan roll her eyes.
"Stop, stop talking, I don't want to hear it."
Su Yuanyuan reached out to interrupt him. She didn't want to know how good those two terrifying guys were, and it would be best if she never had to come into contact with them again.
"Alright." Lin Zhixing reluctantly shut his mouth. "Did you come to see me for something?"
Su Yuanyuan put down her teacup and sat up straight. "I want you to help me find a place to live."
"Oh? Your parents are willing to move to town?"
Lin Zhixing was surprised; hadn't he always been unwilling to move?
"I haven't told them yet. I'll buy the house first, because we'll have to move sooner or later."
Su Yuanyuan sighed, her expression turned indifferent, and the smile in her eyes gradually faded.
