The Young Swordsman of Dalu

Chapter 9 Bullying goes too far

Without waiting for the servants of the Minister's Mansion to report, Prince Wen led several attendants and quickly walked to the backyard of the Zhao Mansion. Accompanying Prince Wen was the current Prime Minister Yun Ze. When A Fu went to deliver a message to the Prince, Yun Ze was coming out of the palace with the Prince. Upon hearing A Fu's words, Yun Ze could not believe it.

"How could such a despicable thing happen in my great Lu Kingdom? I must go with the prince to witness it firsthand. Is there no law left under the emperor's nose?" Yunze said angrily.

When Minister Zhao saw Prince Wen and the Prime Minister arrive, he felt even more uneasy, thinking, "Is Wen Tao trying to make a big fuss?" He quickly stepped forward and respectfully said, "This humble official welcomes Your Highness and Prime Minister."

"Minister Zhao, what's going on? Tell me quickly," Prince Wen said calmly.

“Lord Zhao, what kind of behavior is this?” Yunze rebuked.

"It is all due to my own stupidity and failure to properly educate my son," Minister Zhao said uneasily.

"Is your young master really stupid?" Prince Wen asked directly.

"He was indeed mentally impaired, but upon seeing the Fourth Young Master, my son actually recovered. I believe it must be the Fourth Young Master's good fortune that brought blessings to our Zhao family," said Minister Zhao.

"Stop flattering me. Didn't you and your son just try to kill me to silence me?" Wen Fei had truly seen the ugly face of this despicable man today.

"You have no right to speak!" Prince Wen said sternly.

Wenfei kept his mouth shut and hid behind Wenjie, who also gestured for him not to speak.

“Lord Zhao, tell me the truth: was Zhao Meng truly insane or just pretending? If you lie and I find out, your career will be over,” Yun Ze said sternly.

"This..." Minister Zhao pondered.

"Does Lord Zhao have some unspeakable difficulty?" Prince Wen asked.

"Don't make things difficult for my father. I was faking it from the beginning," Zhao Meng was willing to admit.

"You unfilial son! Shut up! You ignorant fool! You've ruined my reputation!" Minister Zhao said angrily.

"Zhao Meng, tell me what exactly happened?" Yun Ze said.

“Let me tell you,” Zhao Meng said. “That day, at the Manhua Pavilion, I took a fancy to a girl, but she was crying and wouldn’t come with me. So I forcibly pulled her up and left. We happened to run into Wen Fei, who pretended not to see anything and that this wouldn’t have happened. But he insisted on meddling and made the girl go with him. Wasn’t that like robbing someone on the way? We started arguing, and then I got angry and kicked him down the stairs. I didn’t expect him to be so weak; he immediately fainted. I was terrified. He was a prince, after all. What if something happened to him? Wouldn’t I have to pay with my life? So I used my cunning and pretended to be stupid.” Zhao Meng finished his rambling story.

"You bastard, you're not human! You kicked me down and you can still calmly pretend to be stupid. This is too much!" Wen Fei said angrily.

"Please, Father, Prime Minister, grant justice for my fourth brother," Wenjie said respectfully.

"Your Highness, let the Kyoto Prefecture handle this matter. I will personally give the order and ensure that the Fourth Young Master receives justice," Yunze said.

"Thank you for your trouble, Prime Minister Yun," Prince Wen said.

"Someone! Go and notify the Kyoto Prefecture to come here and take them away," Yunze shouted.

"Your Highness, Your Excellency the Prime Minister, please take me away. My son was just confused for a moment, and besides, the Fourth Prince has recovered. Could you please be lenient with him?" Minister Zhao pleaded.

“Lord Zhao, you have failed to properly educate your son, allowing him to run rampant. Your repeated indulgence has led to this situation. Let’s make plans after the case is closed, Lord Zhao,” Yunze said.

"Father, I won't go with them! Save me, Father!" Zhao Meng cried out loudly like a child.

"If only you had known this would happen, you wouldn't have done it in the first place!" Wen Fei said smugly to Zhao Meng.

"Wen Laosi, I, Zhao Meng, will never let you go, no matter what. Just you wait!" Zhao Meng said viciously.

"I'll wait quietly," Wen Fei said coldly.

"Wenfei, get back to your residence right now!" Prince Wen shouted.

"Hurry up, Dad doesn't care about the occasion when he gets angry, you'll be embarrassed if you're late." Wenjie grabbed Wenfei and ran outside.

After leaving the Minister's residence, Wen Fei breathed a sigh of relief: "That was so satisfying. That bastard Zhao Meng did so many bad things, I hope he can receive the punishment he deserves."

"Just thinking about getting revenge? That was so dangerous just now," Wenjie said with concern.

"By the way, Second Brother, how did you know I was in danger? And you arrived so just in time, you're truly my guardian angel," Wenfei said excitedly.

“Second Young Master has been following you ever since you left the Prince’s Mansion, Fourth Young Master,” Afu said.

"You talk too much," Wenjie said.

"I'll shut up." Afu quickly shut up.

"Fourth brother, you don't know how treacherous people can be since you've never been in the martial world. Someone like Zhao Meng has done all sorts of bad things and can still play dumb. There's nothing he wouldn't dare to do. I'm just afraid you'll suffer, so I've followed you all this way and will stand up to protect you when necessary," Wenjie said sincerely.

"Thank you, Second Brother. I knew you loved me the most." Wenfei was on the verge of tears.

"Alright, you're my brother, of course I have to protect you," Wenjie comforted him.

Wenfei felt much happier immediately, thinking, "It's so good to have an older brother who loves his younger brother."

"Fourth brother, this case is about to involve you, so you need to be careful. You've always been fooling around, and I'm afraid you don't have the experience to handle serious matters. You still need to listen to our father's arrangements," Wenjie said with concern.

"Second Brother, aren't you here? Just give me some advice, and I'll listen to everything you say," Wenfei said.

"To be honest, Fourth Brother, I'm about to leave. If it weren't for helping you, I would have already gone to the Wanderer's Cliff, where a group of friends from the martial world are waiting for me to duel with them," Wenjie said.

"Second Brother, is the martial arts world fun?" Wenfei asked.

"It's fun, interesting, and liberating; all worries can be left behind," Wenjie said with a smile.

“I also want to travel the world with you. The Prince’s mansion is no fun at all,” Wenfei said.

"Fourth brother, you're sixteen now. It's time to learn some things properly. I think even if Dad doesn't like you, he'll still make arrangements for you. Just try not to upset him," Wenjie said affectionately.

"I'll do whatever you say, Second Brother. I'll definitely reform myself and get rid of my bad reputation," Wenfei said firmly.

"When I come back next time, I hope to see a different Fourth Young Master Wen," Wen Jie said happily.

"Second Young Master, Fourth Young Master, His Highness wants you to return to the manor immediately," said Prince Wen's attendant as he rode forward on horseback.

Then, Prince Wen rode past them on a fast horse.

"Our dad was only impressive when he was riding a horse," Wenfei joked.

"You little rascal, you're really asking for it again." Wenjie pretended to hit him.

Wenfei ran back to the Prince's Mansion in a flash.
