The Young Swordsman of Dalu

Chapter 41 Spring is a season for young people

Time flies! Spring has arrived, everything is reviving, everything is lush and green, and the earth is full of life.

Wenfei and Changsheng also took off their heavy cotton-padded clothes, and even with heavy sandbags tied to them, they felt much lighter.

"Strange, is the cotton-padded coat heavier than sand and gravel?" Changsheng said.

“Fool, it’s all psychological. How can a cotton-padded coat be compared to sand and gravel?” Wenfei said.

"Who cares? Anyway, I feel much lighter," Changsheng said contentedly.

"Add twice the weight in." Ji Wuchang appeared before them at just the right moment.

As soon as Changsheng finished speaking, Wenfei's head buzzed when he saw Ji Wuchang holding a whip. They were in trouble again.

This time, they didn't argue; they simply obediently doubled the weight of the sandbags again, because their resistance was futile.

Ji Wuchang looked at their obedient appearance and a gratified smile appeared on his face.

"Run!" At Ji Wuchang's command, Wen Fei and his companion were shot off like arrows and disappeared in a flash.

Day after day, Wenfei felt that his body had changed a lot. He could walk as lightly as if he were riding on wheels of fire, and his body had become much stronger.

That day, after Liang Feiyan finished her studies, she returned to the back mountain and prepared to visit Wen Fei in the valley. Just then, Li Wei also finished his training.

“Sister Wei, I have been to Wenxian Pavilion for quite some time now. Would you like to come with me to see Wenfei and pay a visit to Elder Ji?” Liang Feiyan said.

“Okay, Sister Feiyan, I’ll go with you.” Li Wei readily agreed, and the two of them went down the mountain together.

Li Wei led the way and soon arrived at the valley, where they ran into Wen Fei, who had just finished practicing his martial arts.

“Tomboy! You’re not welcome in our Immortal Valley!” Wen Fei said to Li Wei.

"Immortal Valley, how utterly ridiculous! Where are the immortals? Did you all cultivate to become immortals here?" Li Wei mocked.

"This is a name we just came up with recently. Call it what you want, or don't. Our Immortal Valley and your Wenxian Pavilion will keep to ourselves and not interfere with each other," Wen Fei said.

“We originally lived on the same mountain, do we really have to make such a big difference?” Liang Feiyan came from behind.

“Sister Feiyan, you’re here. That’s not what I meant. I was talking about her, not you. You can come anytime,” Wenfei said, pointing at Li Wei.

“Fourth Young Master, a real man shouldn’t be so petty. My sister accompanied me here today, and you still provoke her,” Liang Feiyan said.

"I'll listen to Sister Feiyan and not argue with her today. But please don't call me Fourth Young Master anymore. We're far away here, and Sister Feiyan is like a sister to me. Just call me Wenfei like Second Brother does; it feels closer that way," Wenfei said.

“Okay, I’ll call you Wenfei,” Liang Feiyan said.

"I won't stoop to your level just because of Sister Feiyan!" Li Wei said.

"You two are practically sworn enemies from a past life, always arguing whenever you meet," Liang Feiyan teased.

"Yeah, he's driving this old man crazy." Ji Wuchang appeared in front of them at an inopportune time.

"This must be the venerable Ji Wuchang. I, Liang Feiyan, pay my respects." Liang Feiyan said, bowing to Ji Wuchang.

“Girl, there’s no need to be so polite. I don’t have any fine wine or delicacies to offer you in this valley, but I can teach you a set of qigong techniques,” Ji Wuchang said.

"Senior Ji, it's our first meeting. I dare not accept such a generous gift." Liang Feiyan felt that happiness had come too suddenly.

“I heard from Wenfei that you came to Wenxian Pavilion to study medicine. My set of qigong will be very useful to you. It’s very simple. I’ll show you. Remember as much as you can,” Ji Wuchang said.

"Thank you, senior, but I feel unworthy of such a gift." Liang Feiyan wanted to refuse.

“Back then, I was seriously injured. If it weren’t for your grandfather’s medical skills healing me, there would be no Flying Hero today,” Ji Wuchang said.

“If you were to pass on your skills to me out of gratitude, I would find it even more unacceptable. As healers, saving lives is what we should do. I think my grandfather didn’t expect you to repay him when he cured you,” Liang Feiyan said.

"You child, instead of repaying me, wouldn't it be better if you learned another skill so you'd have more options when it comes to saving people?" Ji Wuchang was speechless with anger.

“Sister Feiyan, you’ve misunderstood my master. He’s not repaying you; he wants you to learn more about healing methods. Just accept it!” Wenfei said.

"This junior thanks Senior Ji," Liang Feiyan said, bowing respectfully.

Ji Wuchang then demonstrated a set of qigong techniques in front of them. His movements were as smooth as flowing water. Fortunately, Liang Feiyan had a photographic memory, and she quickly memorized every move of the qigong.

"Master, this isn't fair! Sister Feiyan only just arrived and you're already teaching her kung fu, while we've been here for almost a year and we're still running around like this," Wenfei said, whining.

"Grandmaster Uncle, I think she hasn't run enough yet, let her keep running," Li Wei said, adding fuel to the fire.

"Tomboy, you're so talkative!" Wenfei shouted.

"Look, you two are arguing again," Liang Feiyan said.

"Sister Feiyan insisted on answering my question," Li Wei said, sounding aggrieved.

"I really can't do anything with you guys," Liang Feiyan said helplessly.

“Spring is here, the perfect season for young people, let’s have some fun!” Ji Wuchang said with a smile, his eyes narrowed.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Wenfei grabbed Li Weishi's hair and ran forward. Li Weishi shouted angrily, "Wenfei, I'm going to slap you across the face!"

"Tomboy, come and chase me!" Wen Fei challenged.

Li Wei used his lightness skill to chase after Wen Fei in the direction he was running.

"Slow down!" Liang Feiyan shouted from behind.

"Hahaha! Let them be. This is something for their age to do, and it adds fun to my valley." Ji Wuchang said indulgently.

"You are so kind, just like my grandfather," Liang Feiyan said from the bottom of her heart.

“My grandfather was also a remarkable figure. He fought alongside the late emperor in numerous battles. The glory of your Liang family was earned by your grandfather alone,” Ji Wuchang said.

“Senior knows our Liang family very well,” Liang Feiyan said.

"In those years of war and bloodshed, we were all comrades-in-arms who shared life and death." Ji Wuchang felt the past flashing before his eyes again.

“You are all meritorious officials of the Great Lu Kingdom, and the people will never forget your contributions,” Liang Feiyan said respectfully.

"Your grandfather is truly blessed to have such a granddaughter. You are such a wonderful child. Whoever marries you must have done many good deeds in their past life." Ji Wuchang genuinely liked Liang Feiyan.

"Senior Ji, you flatter me. I don't deserve it," Liang Feiyan said tactfully.

Ji Wuchang waved his hand, indicating that she shouldn't be polite and should just accept his praise naturally, saying, "Girl, you deserve it!"

Liang Feiyan bowed in greeting.
