The Young Swordsman of Dalu

Chapter 38 Visiting Wenxian Pavilion Again

In the blink of an eye, the annual Spring Festival is approaching, and Wenfei in the valley is practicing martial arts diligently, not daring to slack off for even a day.

Ji Wuchang squinted as he watched Wen Fei and the others diligently practice martial arts, feeling very gratified.

That day, after the master and his disciples finished practicing their skills, Ji Wuchang said, "Wenfei, you and Changsheng go to Wenxian Pavilion to find Li Chaoyang and get some good wine. The Spring Festival is coming soon. In previous years, he would have sent the wine long ago. But he hasn't sent it yet, even though it's almost the New Year. I think he's doing this on purpose."

“Master, we don’t want to go to him,” Wenfei said.

"Afraid of Li Chaoyang? What are you afraid of him doing? With me, Ji Wuchang, here, there's no need to fear him. Just say that I told you to give it to him. If he doesn't give it to you, I, Ji Wuchang, will definitely tear down his Wenxian Pavilion." Ji Wuchang said domineeringly.

Wenfei and Changsheng changed their clothes and nervously went up to Wenxian Pavilion.

The pageboy at the entrance of Wenxian Pavilion blocked their way: "What business does Young Master Wen have?"

"We are here at Wenxian Pavilion to fetch wine for Elder Li, on the orders of our master," Wenfei said.

“In previous years, it was given as a gift, but I haven’t heard the old master mention it this year,” the boy said.

"So, Master sent us to retrieve it." Wenfei felt his skin had thickened considerably.

"Let them in," said Li Wei, who had just arrived.

"Tomboy, nothing good ever comes from running into you," Wenfei said unhappily.

"If you're just bringing bad luck on yourself, don't blame it on others." Li Wei said as he pushed open the door and entered Wenxian Pavilion.

Wenjie kicked and punched Li Wei from behind, but Changsheng stopped Wenfei just in time when Li Wei turned around.

"Kid, be careful in this place," Li Wei said.

"Hmph! I'm not going to stoop to your level. We'll just take the wine and leave," Wen Fei said matter-of-factly.

"What kind of behavior is this, making such a racket?" Li Chaoyang came out from the back courtyard.

"Grandpa, it's all his fault," Li Wei said, pointing at Wen Fei with a wronged expression.

"What are you doing here?" Li Chaoyang asked.

"First of all, it wasn't my idea to come; it was my master who insisted on sending us here to fetch wine, so we came," Wenfei explained.

"Boy, aren't you afraid that I'll interrogate you again if you go to Wenxian Pavilion again?" Li Chaoyang asked.

“I haven’t done anything wrong, what am I afraid of?” Wenfei said.

"Remember this, kid. Once I, Li Chaoyang, have made up my mind, I won't let it go," Li Chaoyang threatened.

"You win! Please, Elder Li, bring out the wine my master requested. I don't want to stay here any longer," Wen Fei said.

"Go and fetch them the wine!" Li Chaoyang instructed the boy.

"Farewell!" Wen Fei followed the boy to fetch wine without looking back.

"Grandpa, he's too arrogant in front of you. I'm going to teach him a lesson." Li Wei was about to go out and chase after Wen Fei.

“Girl, you don’t need to get angry with that kid. Let him be! Now, let’s talk about you. Shouldn’t you be practicing your martial arts at this hour? What are you doing here?” Li Chaoyang said.

"I just finished practicing and I'm really bored, so I came here to talk to Sister Feiyan," Li Wei said.

"Feiyan is currently studying medicine with Huang Xianweng in the Suwen Pavilion, so please don't disturb her," Li Chaoyang said.

“I’ll wait for her to finish class here, and we’ll go back to the back mountain together,” Li Wei said.

"Do as you please," Li Chaoyang said before returning to the back courtyard.

Li Wei quietly left Wenxian Pavilion and went to the entrance of Suwenting, just as Liang Feiyan was bowing and saying goodbye to Huang Xianweng.

"Sister Feiyan!" Li Wei called out.

Liang Feiyan walked up to Li Weishi and said, "Weishi, is there something you need here?"

"I'll wait for you," Li Wei said.

"Have you finished practicing?" Liang Feiyan asked.

"Why does this sound so much like my grandfather?" Li Wei said with a smile.

“I’ll wait for you to go back to the back mountain together,” Li Wei said.

"Let's go!" Liang Feiyan said.

Rainbow followed behind and they went to the back mountain together.

Just as Li Wei and the others were walking towards the back mountain, Li Wei saw Wen Fei again. She said to Liang Feiyan, "Sister Feiyan, look at that Wen Fei, he's acting suspiciously, I wonder what he's up to?"

When Liang Feiyan saw Wen Fei, she shouted, "Fourth Young Master Wen!"

Wenfei and Changsheng, each carrying a jar of wine, looked over at them.

"Sister Feiyan, you're really here! I thought what Second Brother said wasn't true!" Wenfei jogged over.

"Young master, be careful with the wine," Changsheng reminded him.

“That day, I heard my second brother talk about your heroic deeds in the northern frontier. They were truly remarkable!” Wenfei praised.

"It's nothing, are you alright?" Liang Feiyan asked.

“Very good!” Wen Fei glanced at Li Wei and said.

“You…” Li Wei was about to strike Wen Fei.

"What do you mean, 'what do you mean, 'I'm Feiyan here, are you going to hit me'?" Wenfei said confidently.

"Fourth Young Master, is there some misunderstanding between you and Sister Wei Shi?" Liang Feiyan asked, puzzled.

“We have a deep misunderstanding,” Wenfei said.

"Fourth Young Master, it's just that I'm here. Why don't you clear up the misunderstanding? I hope you can become friends," Liang Feiyan said sincerely.

"Friends? Impossible!" the two said in unison.

“Look at you two, it’s clearly just two kids arguing, neither of you is convinced. Tell me what’s going on, and I’ll help you resolve the issue,” Liang Feiyan said.

“Sister Feiyan, let’s not talk about our business for now. Tell me about your adventures in the Northern Frontier. I asked my second brother to tell me, but he said I’m just a child and wouldn’t understand,” Wenfei said.

"What are you doing up the mountain?" Liang Feiyan asked.

"I've come to fetch wine for my master," Wenfei said.

"I'll take the wine to your master first, and I'll visit you at the foot of the mountain another day," Liang Feiyan said.

"It's a deal! Sister Feiyan," Wenfei said reluctantly.

“We live so close, we can see each other anytime, I will definitely come to see you,” Liang Feiyan said.

Wenfei and Changsheng carried the wine down the mountain. Li Wei watched them go and asked, "Sister Feiyan, are you very familiar with him?"

"We're not very familiar with each other," Liang Feiyan said.

“He called you very affectionately,” Li Wei said.

“That’s just how he is, he’s very outgoing,” Liang Feiyan said.

"Sister Feiyan, what exactly is your relationship?" Li Wei was very curious.

"Our relationship is so-so, I don't know how to tell you," Liang Feiyan said.

"To tell you the truth," Li Wei said playfully.

"His second brother and I have been engaged since childhood. To put it bluntly, I am his future sister-in-law." Liang Feiyan blushed with embarrassment after saying this.

"I see. Look how blushed you are, my sister," Li Wei said with a smile. "Do you like him? I'm talking about Wenfei's second brother."

"I didn't like it at first, but I gradually came to like it," Liang Feiyan said shyly.

"Hahaha! So my sister has someone she likes." Li Wei laughed loudly.

"You're still making fun of me, you little girl. You'll understand when the time comes." Liang Feiyan followed Li Wei into their residence in the back mountain.
