The Young Swordsman of Dalu
Chapter 200 Crossing Successfully
Wenfei and the others sought shelter from the wind and cold in the cave with the snow python. That evening, they ate some dry rations. When the moon rose and illuminated the entire mountaintop, Wenfei excitedly ran out of the cave.
"Wenfei! Wait for me!" Li Wei ran out, with the snow python following behind.
"The moon is so round tonight!" Wenfei said.
“Today is the fifteenth, of course the moon is full. Haven’t you ever seen a full moon? Why are you running so fast!” Li Wei said.
"Yes! I have something to tell you. If I don't say it now, I'm afraid I won't have the chance to say it again," Wenfei said.
“Say whatever you want!” Li Wei said.
“I actually come from another time and space. By some twist of fate, I was attached to the body of the fourth young master of the Wen family. Your grandfather found out that I wasn’t the real Wen Fei, and I told him the truth,” Wen Fei said.
"What exactly happened? I don't understand!" Li Wei found it unbelievable.
Wenfei asked Li Wei to sit down and told her about his time travel.
Li Wei was completely confused. She stared at Wen Fei, unable to believe that the boy in front of her had actually traveled from another time and space.
"Impossible! I don't believe it!" Li Wei was unwilling to accept this reality.
“When I parted ways with Senior Shou in Beijiang City, he gave me his green thumb ring and told me a legend about the Shou family,” Wen Fei said, taking out the green thumb ring.
"What legend?" Li Wei asked.
“The Shou family possesses two green thumb rings, which are keys to opening the portal to another dimension. One of the Shou family’s ancestors tried them,” Wen Fei said.
"Is it to be on Cuiyun Peak?" Li Wei asked.
"Senior Shou said that their ancestors came here on the night of the full moon every month, stacked two green thumb rings together, and waited for the moonlight to pass through the center of the green thumb rings. The green thumb rings would then take people to another time and space," Wenfei said.
"Has any of them ever succeeded?" Li Wei asked.
“Never!” Wenfei said.
"They didn't succeed, so how can you succeed?" Li Wei asked skeptically.
"Later, I thought about how I came to your time and space, and it seems that what Senior Shou said makes a lot of sense. The night I traveled through time, I fell asleep with the green thumb ring that my grandmother gave me. It was the fifteenth of the month, a full moon night. When I woke up, I was in the Wenwang Mansion," Wen Fei said.
"Is there something they're missing that prevented them from succeeding?" Li Wei asked.
Wenfei took out his green thumb ring from his pocket, compared the two green thumb rings, and said, "They are exactly the same, there is no difference!"
"Let me see!" Li Wei said.
Wenfei placed the two green thumb rings in Li Weishi's hands. Li Weishi looked at them over and over several times and said, "Wenfei, look, there are patterns on these thumb rings."
“I know!” Wenfei said.
“Take a closer look at what the pattern is,” Li Wei said.
Wen Fei took the green thumb ring and examined it carefully: "A snow python pattern! I hadn't even noticed it before."
Li Wei glanced at the snow python lying to one side and said, "Do you think it has something to do with it?"
"Is that possible?" Wenfei was a little skeptical.
"You'll be full soon! Give it a try, it might work!" Li Wei said.
Wenfei approached the snow python with two green thumb rings, crouched down, and the python looked up at him. Wenfei placed the two green thumb rings together in front of the python. The python's eyes lit up at the sight of the rings, and it became very excited. It leaped into the air. At that moment, Wenfei raised the green thumb rings to the bright moonlight. The rings reflected a green light under the moonlight, and the light from the python's eyes and the rings complemented each other. A white light flashed on the mountaintop, seemingly illuminating the entire mountain range. Wenfei slowly entered the light. Li Wei panicked when he saw Wenfei being drawn away by the light.
"Wenfei! Don't go! Wait for me!" Li Wei shouted loudly.
Wenfei seemed to have entered a deep sleep and couldn't hear anything. He was slowly sucked into the light and no longer knew where he was.
"He's awake! Dad! Brother's awake!" When Wenfei opened his eyes, his younger sister Wenyu shouted happily beside him.
Wen Tao rushed into the ward from outside. When he saw that Wen Fei had opened his eyes, he breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Damn it! You're awake! You scared the hell out of me!"
"I want to drink water!" Wenfei said weakly.
"Dad! My brother wants water! Hurry up and get him some!" Wen Yu called out to Wen Tao.
"Let's call the doctor first!" Wentao ran out of the ward to call the doctor.
The doctor gave Wenfei a full-body examination and found that apart from the fact that he had been in a coma and was hungry for the past few days, there was nothing seriously wrong with his body. The doctor also felt very strange that he had suddenly recovered.
Wen Tao waited anxiously at the door for the doctor's examination results. The doctor came out and told him that Wen Fei could be discharged smoothly after receiving some more nutritional injections.
Wen Tao was overjoyed upon hearing the result and burst into laughter. His joy was genuine, after all, Wen Fei was his own flesh and blood. A year ago, when the hospital announced that Wen Fei might never wake up, he was filled with despair. He thought back on Wen Fei's life from childhood to adulthood and realized that he had never truly loved his son. Since his divorce from his mother, he had left his child, who was not even three years old, to be raised by his grandmother. Wen Tao felt he owed Wen Fei too much, and he vowed that if his son woke up, he would love him even more.
Lying on the bed, Wen Fei looked at the crazed Wen Tao and said to Wen Yu, "Is his emotion really that unstable?"
“Brother! Dad is happy!” Wenyu said.
"Wenyu! How long has my brother been unconscious?" Wenfei asked.
“It’s been over a year!” Wen Yu said.
"What? It's been over a year!" Wenfei almost jumped out of bed.
“My brother is real!” Wen Yu said.
"What month is it now? Have you finished the college entrance exam?" Wenfei asked.
"The college entrance exam is in two months, don't worry, brother. Dad has already processed your suspension of school. You can go back to school once you've recovered," Wen Yu said.
Wenfei seemed to remember something again. He struggled to lift his blanket and started groping around inside.
"Brother! What are you doing?" Wen Yu asked.
"Where's my green thumb ring?" Wenfei asked.
"Don't worry! I've kept it for you. It was left to you by Grandma. I won't give it to Dad," Wen Yu said with a smile.
"Thank you!" Wenfei said.
“You’re my brother! I’m your sister, why are we being so polite?” Wen Yu said.
"During the days I was unconscious, did anyone come by? Or did I do anything unusual?" Wenfei asked.
“Dad told me that when you were in a coma for a month, an old man with a white beard came to see you. He stood by your bedside for a long time, and you seemed to feel him beside you. You tried to move your limbs, but you couldn’t move at all. After that, the old man never came again,” Wen Yu said.
"That's amazing!" Wenfei exclaimed.
"My good son! Drink some chicken soup to nourish yourself. You're too weak. Take good care of yourself! Don't worry, Dad will take care of you!" Wentao ladled out the chicken soup and put it to Wenfei's lips. "Dad will feed you."
"Oh! Why be so dramatic? I'll drink it myself!" Wenfei tried to get up, but his body felt like it was filled with lead, and he couldn't get up at all.
"The doctor said you need to replenish your energy, and you'll be fine in a couple of days! Come and have some chicken soup!" Wen Tao put a spoon into Wen Fei's mouth.
Wenfei twisted himself with all his might in bed, and it hurt a lot. Only then did he realize that he wasn't dreaming and that he had traveled back in time.
