The Young Swordsman of Dalu

Chapter 197 Rescuing Juxianlou

Wenfei and Li Wei were feeling restless inside the Yuxuan Palace, so they decided to go for a stroll. They ended up on the most bustling central street in Yancheng.

“Wenfei! This place seems a bit inferior compared to our Yulu City,” Li Wei said.

"This is just a visual difference caused by the differences between the North and the South," Wenfei said.

“What are you saying? It’s really hard to understand!” Li Wei said.

"I'll tell you slowly later! Look how lively it is up ahead, let's go take a look." Wenfei grabbed Li Wei's hand and walked forward.

"Wenfei! Isn't Juxianlou a famous restaurant in Yancheng? I've heard that the food there is delicious. It's almost lunchtime, why don't we go in and try it?" Li Wei said.

“Okay!” Wenfei said.

The two entered Juxianlou Restaurant, where the lobby was already full of people. A waiter ran over and said enthusiastically, "Please come up to the second floor, esteemed guests!"

Wenfei and his companion went up to the second floor, where it was relatively quiet, with only one table of guests by the window.

Wenfei and Li Wei found a place to sit down, and the waiter came up to the second floor and asked, "What would you like to eat, sir?"

"Give me some of your restaurant's specialties! And two bowls of noodles, please!" Wenfei said.

"Alright! Please have some tea, gentlemen. Wait a moment! Your food will be here shortly!" The waiter went downstairs.

Wenfei picked up his teacup and took a sip. He glanced casually at the young guest sitting by the window. It seemed he had been sitting there for a long time without ordering any food or dishes. The two plates of pastries in front of him remained untouched as he gazed out the window.

Just then, a commotion came from downstairs. Wenfei was about to get up to see what was going on when a group of people came up. Wenfei sat down, wanting to see what they were there for.

The man in front was fat and had large ears. He was dressed in luxurious silk clothes and had an arrogant demeanor. The group of people following behind him looked like his henchmen and thugs. The man strode over to the person near the window.

"You! Get up! This is Grandpa's seat!"

The young guest turned his head slightly, looked at the person who came in, and said, "Since I arrived first, this seat is naturally mine."

"You greenhorn, how dare you steal your grandpa's seat! Throw him off the bench!"

"Master Gao! Please have mercy! Please don't!" The owner of Juxianlou Restaurant came up.

"You bastard! Don't you know this seat is for Grandpa? Why are you letting someone else sit here?"

"Master Gao! Please leave it to me. I'll persuade this gentleman."

"Go and tell them!"

"Sir, harmony brings wealth. Could you please not put me in such a difficult position? If you would like to give up this seat today, I will let you choose any seat you like at Juxianlou another day, would that be alright?"

"No! I want this seat!" the young customer exclaimed.

"Guards! Throw this arrogant brat out of this window!"

A group of thugs suddenly surrounded the young man, ready to attack.

The young man suddenly stood up and said, "In broad daylight! How dare you be so arrogant in the capital? Does my Northern Dynasty have no laws?"

"Pah! You think you're so high and mighty? Who do you think you are? You're just a young punk who hasn't even grown his hair yet, and you don't know what's good for you. Throw him down!"

“You guys try throwing one today!” the young man shouted.

The thugs grabbed the young man's arm and were about to throw him out the window when Wenfei, in a moment of panic, shouted, "Stop!"

"And who are you?" Master Gao asked.

"And who are you? How dare you throw a living person out the window in broad daylight!" Wen Fei said.

“I can tell you’re from out of town. My grandfather is Gao Liang, the son of Gao Yuan, the Grand Tutor of the Northern Dynasty. Don’t you know how high my father’s prestige is in the Northern Dynasty? He’s second only to the emperor.” Gao Liang said.

“So who is it? It turns out to be a shameless bully who takes advantage of his power. Does your father know what you’ve been doing?” Wenfei said.

"How dare you humiliate Grandpa! Men! Throw him down with him!" Gao Liang said.

“Come on! Grandpa’s waiting!” Wenfei said, stepping forward.

The thugs with the bright lights walked towards Wen Fei again. Li Wei wanted to make a move, but Wen Fei stopped her and said, "Calm down! Watch how I deal with this shameless guy!"

Gao Liang's men reached out to grab Wen Fei, but Wen Fei was lifted up and flew up. He landed steadily next to Gao Liang, placed his hand on his neck, and said, "Tell your men to release that young master, and then leave quietly. Otherwise, don't blame me, I can easily kill you with a little force."

"You dare threaten me! I'm not afraid!" Gao Liang said defiantly.

"Why don't you give it a try!" Wen Fei raised his hand and chopped hard at Gao Liang's neck.

"Stop! Stop!" Gao Liang felt a gust of wind blow across his neck, causing it to tilt. Terrified, he quickly begged for mercy.

"Release that young master! You may leave!" Wen Fei said again.

"Release them immediately! All of you, get out of here!" Gao Liang said.

Gao Liang's men rushed down from the second floor. Gao Liang said, "Sir, you see they've all left. Shouldn't you let me go now?"

“Remember this: if I ever see you committing all sorts of evil again, I won’t let you off easily! Get lost!” Wen Fei said.

Gao Liang scrambled down from the second floor and left Juxianlou in a disheveled state with his men.

The young guest took a step forward and said, "Thank you for saving me, brother!"

"Don't be so polite when you're out and about!" Wenfei said.

"May I ask your honorable name, sir?" the young man asked.

"My name is nothing special!" Wen Fei said politely.

"My name is Murong Li!" the young man said.

"He is Murong Li!" Li Wei exclaimed, standing up in surprise.

"You are Murong Li, one of the three princes who came to the capital," Wen Fei asked.

“Exactly!” Murong Li said.

"Greetings, Wenfei!" Wenfei said.

Murong Li stepped forward, looked at Wen Fei, and said, "You must be the famous Wen Fei! I heard a lot about you when I was in Xiangcheng. I admire you a lot. Sometimes I just want to travel the world and roam the martial arts world like you!"

“Oh! Prince Murong also has this idea. It seems we have some common ground,” Wen Fei said.

"Brother Wen, come sit here. Today, I, Murong Li, am treating. Let's drink until we're completely drunk!" Murong Li said happily.

"Does Your Highness not care about the assessment at all? I've heard that the other two princes have already been secretly lobbying the court officials," Wen Fei said.

"Brother Wen should have realized by now that my heart is not in this. Since they want to sit in that position, let them be. I just want to be a free and unfettered prince," Murong Li said.

"Since that's the case, let's drink until we're completely drunk today!" Wenfei said.

The restaurant owner personally brought over the wine and dishes, and the three were about to enjoy themselves when a person came up from downstairs, walked to Murong Li's side, and whispered something in his ear. Murong Li was shocked and hurriedly stood up, saying to Wen Fei, "Brother Wen, I have something to do. I'm afraid we can't drink to our hearts' content today. I, Murong Li, will definitely accompany you and Miss Li to drink to your heart's content another day. I'll take my leave now!"

"If Your Highness has urgent business to attend to, please take your leave first. We can meet again another day!" Wenfei said.

Murong Li hurriedly left Juxianlou.
