The Young Swordsman of Dalu

Chapter 184 A Great Defeat to Zhou Moyao

After receiving news that the Western Regions army was attacking the northwestern border, Zhou Moyao simultaneously moved 50,000 troops from underground in the imperial mausoleum to the surface. Once assembled, they marched in a mighty force towards Yulu City.

In order to contain Zhou Moyao, the Feng family manor mobilized 5,000 troops to launch a full-scale attack. Feng Weiran took the lead and led his troops to block Zhou Moyao's advance outside Jia City.

"Old hag Feng! We've been living in peace for so long, and now you want to stop my grand ambitions? Don't blame me, Zhou Moyao, for being ruthless. I'll burn your Feng family manor to the ground!" Zhou Momo said to Feng Weiran.

“Zhou Moyao! If you want to go to Yulu City, you’ll have to step over my dead body!” Feng Weiran said.

"You dare to refuse a toast only to drink a forfeit! Don't blame me for being impolite! Anyone who blocks my way, kill! Kill this old woman!" Zhou Moyao roared as he charged towards Feng Weiran.

"Quickly protect Mother!" Feng Xunnan said.

A white-robed general stepped in front of Feng Weiran and caught Zhou Moyao's broadsword.

"Bai Gan! You bastard, all these years you've been hiding in the Feng family manor, hanging out with these women. You've been living a pretty comfortable life, haven't you?" Zhou Moyao mocked.

Bai Gan raised his halberd and slashed at Zhou Moyao, saying, "Zhou scoundrel! Shut your stinking mouth!"

The five thousand men of the Feng family manor clashed with Zhou Moyao's fifty thousand troops. Feng Xunnan had Jiang Huai protect Feng Weiran and Nangong Xun, while she also rushed to the front lines to fight the enemy.

Jiang Huai was extremely anxious watching from below. He wished he could rush forward immediately and fight alongside his mother.

Feng Weiran saw through Jiang Huai's thoughts and said, "Go ahead! Be careful!"

"Grandma, don't worry!" Jiang Huai said, brandishing his sword and rushing to Feng Xun'nan's side.

When Feng Xunnan saw his son come to his side, he said, "Huai'er, be careful!"

“Mother! We will fight side by side!” Jiang Huai said.

“The child is growing up, we can’t let him stay in his comfort zone forever! It’s time for him to experience some challenges!” Feng Weiran said.

“That’s right!” Nangong Xun said.

"Our forces cannot hold out for long. We hope the court is prepared!" Feng Weiran said.

"I hope so!" Nangong Xun said.

The two armies fought from morning until noon. The five thousand men of the Feng family manor were almost wiped out. At this critical moment, Duan Lixing led twenty thousand troops into the camp. This sudden reinforcement caught Zhou Moyao off guard.

Duan Lixing brandished his sword and approached Zhou Moyao, shouting, "Your Highness Zhou! Stop now!"

"Impossible! I will definitely march to Yulu City, drive that blond-haired waiter off the dragon throne, and take back what rightfully belongs to me!" Zhou Moyao said.

“If Your Highness remains obstinate, I will not be polite!” Duan Lixing said.

“Bring it on!” Zhou Moyao said.

The two immediately clashed. Duan Lixing raised his spear and thrust it at Zhou Moyao. Zhou Moyao said, "Duan Lixing! You were my defeated opponent back then, and today you still can't escape my grasp!"

Duan Lixing did not reply, but instead attacked Zhou Moyao with all his might. Zhou Moyao had fought Bai Gan for hundreds of rounds and was exhausted. He seemed to be struggling against Duan Lixing's attack. His eldest son, Zhou Shixian, rushed to his side and shouted, "Father, please rest for a while and let your son handle this!"

"My son, be careful!" Zhou Moyao withdrew.

"Don't give Zhou Moyao a chance to breathe. Send someone up to fight him, exhaust his strength, and make him surrender!" Nangong Xun said.

"Wu Keyong, hurry over there and hold Zhou Moyao back! Don't let him take the opportunity to escape!" Feng Weiran said.

Wu Keyong charged at Zhou Moyao with his broadsword. Zhou Moyao seemed powerless against Wu Keyong's attack, but he had no choice but to raise his own broadsword to catch Wu Keyong's sword.

Zhou Moyao's 50,000-strong army quickly suffered a blow that demoralized many soldiers, who laid down their weapons and surrendered. Upon seeing this, Zhou Moyao was furious: "Those who flee will be killed without mercy!"

Seeing that the situation was hopeless, the number one swordsman of the northern desert tried to take the opportunity to leave, but Bai Gan blocked his way.

"You dare block my way!" said the number one swordsman of the northern desert.

“That’s right! Because my name is Bai Gan!” Bai Gan said.

"You won't stand in my way! I'm free to come and go as I please!" The number one swordsman of the Northern Desert shouted and thrust his sword at Bai Gan.

Bai Gan swung his halberd at the number one swordsman of the Northern Desert, who leaped onto his horse and thrust his sword at Bai Gan. Bai Gan dodged, avoiding the sword. The two exchanged blows for dozens of rounds, but the number one swordsman couldn't break free. Growing increasingly anxious, he used a hidden weapon. With a powerful flick of his wrist, the weapon flew from his sleeve towards Bai Gan, just as it was about to pierce Bai Gan's chest. Bai Gan suddenly ducked, and the weapon flew away.

Seeing that he had failed, the number one swordsman of the northern desert said in exasperation, "I'm so angry! Let's try again!"

Numerous hidden weapons flew out from the sleeves of the number one swordsman of the Northern Desert. Just when Bai Gan was in imminent danger, a flying carpet blocked all the hidden weapons. This flying carpet was thrown by Nangong Xun. This time, the number one swordsman of the Northern Desert had used every means at his disposal.

Bai Gan shouted, "Give me your life!" and charged towards the number one swordsman of the Northern Desert.

"My life is over!" said the number one swordsman of the northern desert.

Bai Gan wielded his halberd and sent the number one swordsman of the Northern Desert to the ground. The number one swordsman of the Northern Desert closed his eyes and waited for death to come.

"Tie him up!" Nangong Xun said.

The number one swordsman of the northern desert couldn't believe that Bai Gan hadn't killed him. He was bound hand and foot and dragged in front of Nangong Xun.

"The consequences of surrendering must be unpleasant!" Nangong Xun asked.

"Go ahead and kill me if you dare!" the number one swordsman of the Northern Desert retorted defiantly.

“Remember this: I’m not killing you today because you are Shou Shangxing’s disciple! Take him away and await further instructions!” Nangong Xun said.

"Old man! You know my master!" The number one swordsman of the Northern Desert turned around and shouted loudly at Nangong Xun.

"You know his master!" Feng Weiran asked as well.

“These are all old stories! Let’s not talk about them!” Nangong Xun said.

“It looks like Zhou Moyao is about to collapse,” Feng Weiran said.

Zhou Moyao's 50,000-strong army was no match for the regular army. Some were killed, some were wounded, and the rest fled and were captured by the imperial army. At dusk, the battle ended. Looking at his defeated troops, Zhou Moyao cried out in resentment, "Heaven is trying to destroy me!"

"Bring Zhou Moyao and his son back to the capital and hand them over to His Majesty!" Duan Lixing said.

Zhou Moyao and his son soon became prisoners and were put into a prison cart and escorted to the capital.

Duan Lixing approached Feng Weiran and said, "Thank you for your carelessness, Master Feng! I will definitely report this to His Majesty upon my return to court!"

“General Duan! This is what our Feng family manor should do for the country and the people!” Feng Weiran said.

"Thank you, Mr. Nangong!" Duan Lixing bowed and said.

"General Duan, you should kill Zhou Moyao and his son on the way!" Nangong Xun said.

"Why do you say that, sir?" Duan Lixing asked, puzzled.

"Just do as I say! This will ensure General Duan's safety!" Nangong Xun said.

Duan Lixing scratched his head and left, looking troubled.

"Will he listen to you?" Feng Weiran asked.

“He’ll figure it out!” Nangong Xun said.
