The Young Swordsman of Dalu

Chapter 170 Meeting Shou Shangxing

Wen Fei waited anxiously for Shou Shangxing to appear inside Yu Chi Liang's tent. He was getting impatient and wanted to go out to look for him, hoping to find Shou Shangxing. However, Yu Chi Liang insisted that he not go out.

Just as the two were arguing, a commotion came from outside. Yuchi Liang quickly told Wen Fei to hide and then went out of the tent.

"Prince Yuchi!" the leading general said.

"Baller! What happened?" Yuchi Liang asked.

“Your Highness, we have a spy infiltrated our place, and we are searching it! Please forgive us, Your Highness, we also need to search your place!” Bale said.

“Of course we have to investigate if there’s a spy infiltrated. Come in and check!” Yu Chi Liang opened the curtain and let Bale and the others in to check.

"Your Highness, we were only ordered to conduct the search. We apologize for any offense!" Bale led his men into Yuchi Liang's tent.

Bale looked around the tent. There were only Lady Yuchi, their two children, and two servants inside. Bale did not find anything unusual, so he ordered the soldiers to retreat.

Bale walked out of the main tent, and Yuchi Liang followed him out, asking, "General Bale, how did you know that there was a spy among us?"

“One of our soldiers was knocked unconscious last night, and what’s worse, a spy changed into his clothes and infiltrated our ranks,” Baler said.

"Ah! This is very serious. If the traitor does something detrimental to us, we will be in great danger!" Yu Chi Liang pretended to be very worried.

"Don't worry, Prince Yuchi! We'll search high and low to find him!" Bale said.

"General Bale, take care!" Yuchi Liang said.

"Excuse me, Prince Yuchi! Continue the search over there!" Bale bid farewell to Yuchi Liang and walked forward.

Yu Chi Liang watched Bale walk away before he went into the tent, where Wen Fei emerged from a pile of cotton clothes.

"I'm about to suffocate!" Wenfei gasped for breath.

"That was too close!" Yuchi Liang exclaimed.

"Thank you, Your Highness, for saving my life!" Wen Fei bowed and thanked Yuchi Liang.

“Wenfei, it’s too dangerous for you to be here! They won’t give up until they find the spy; they’ll search again,” Yuchi Liang said.

"Don't worry, Prince Yuchi! I will leave your tent now, and I will never implicate your family," Wenfei said.

“That’s not what I meant. Besides, wouldn’t you just get caught by them if you left now? I’m just praying that Shou Shangxing will appear soon so you can leave here as soon as possible,” Yu Chi Liang said.

"Tomorrow is the fifteenth, is it possible that Shou Shangxing will appear tonight?" Wenfei said.

“I also hope he can come, preferably now!” Yuchi Liang said.

"I'm sorry, Prince Yuchi! I've made you worry again!" Wenfei said.

"Stop talking! Who else can you go to in this place besides me?" Yu Chi Liang said.

"Prince Yuchi! I heard you just returned from Ningcheng a few days ago? What did you do in Ningcheng?" Wenfei asked.

“I was sent by Nabru Khan to Ningcheng to persuade Li Linlie to submit to the Western Regions,” Yuchi Liang said.

"General Li Linlie was not persuaded by you, and you have returned empty-handed," Wen Fei said.

“If you know what kind of person Li Chaoyang is, you’ll know that his son is no different from him. I admire the loyalty of the Li family, father and son, to the Great Lu Kingdom,” Yuchi Liang said.

"Your Highness Prince Yuchi, you have achieved your goal!" Wen Fei said.

"What is your purpose?" Yu Chi Liang asked.

"Then what is the purpose of Bulu Khan sending you as an envoy to Ningcheng?" Wenfei asked.

"Wenfei! Don't talk nonsense here!" Yuchi Liang said.

“Didn’t Bulu Khan want General Li Linlie to leave our northwestern border? You succeeded. General Li Linlie was escorted to the capital by imperial decree by His Majesty when I came here,” Wen Fei said.

"How could this happen?" Yu Chi Liang said.

“You’ve completed the task that Prince Yuchi and Khan Bulu have entrusted to you. Aren’t you happy?” Wenfei said.

"Wenfei! You've misunderstood me!" Yuchi Liang said.

“Regardless of your motives, General Li Linlie has been dismissed, and you have one less powerful opponent here,” Wen Fei said.

"Li Linlie has really been taken back to the capital? What about my sister?" Yu Chi Liang asked.

"They should still be in Ningcheng," Wen Fei said.

“Aren’t you afraid that if you tell me all this, I’ll go tell Bulu Khan?” Yuchi Liang said.

“I know Prince Yuchi wouldn’t do that. If you were someone who would kick someone when they’re down, you would have handed me over to the searching soldiers long ago,” Wen Fei said.

“I think Bulu Khan will soon find out that Li Linlie has been brought back to the capital,” Yuchi Liang said.

"At that time, will Bulu Khan sound the horn to attack our Great Lu Kingdom?" Wenfei said.

“Has he been waiting for this day? That Bulu Khan is most afraid of Li Linlie. He sent me to Ningcheng to persuade Li Linlie so that your emperor would mistakenly believe that Li Linlie would submit to our Western Regions. But I don’t want to see this situation. After all, fighting will not benefit the people of either country. But we are both at the mercy of others. What can we do?” Yuchi Liang said.

As night fell, Madam Yuchi prepared fine wine and served delicious dishes.

Yu Chi Liang said, "Whether Shou Shangxing comes or not, let's start drinking!"

"Thank you for your hospitality, Prince Yuchi and his wife! I won't stand on ceremony!" Wenfei raised his wine cup.

"Please!" Yu Chi Liang picked up his wine cup and drank it all in one gulp.

"How can such good wine fall into my hands?" Shou Shangxing said as he entered from outside.

"Old Shou! I knew you old codger would come smelling it!" Yuchi Liang said happily.

"Senior Shou! You've finally arrived!" Wen Fei stood up and pulled Shou Shangxing to a seat.

"Oh! There are people who are waiting for me to come!" Shou Shangxing said.

"Senior Shou! Please have a drink first!" Wen Fei poured a full glass of wine and presented it to Shou Shangxing.

Shou Shangxing took the wine cup and said, "I can't refuse your kindness!" He then tilted his head back and drank the cup of wine in one gulp. "Good wine!"

“Senior Shou! I’ve come here on the orders of Pavilion Master Li Chaoyang to deliver something to you,” Wen Fei said.

"Oh! Li Chaoyang even sent me something! Has the sun risen in the west? What is it?" Shou Shangxing said.

Wenfei took out a green thumb ring from his pocket and placed it in front of Shou Shangxing. After seeing the green thumb ring, Shou Shangxing stared at it for a long time without saying a word.

"Senior Shou!" Wen Fei called out.

"Oh!" Shou Shangxing came to his senses.

"What are your thoughts on this, Senior Shou?" Wenfei asked tentatively.

"Didn't Li Chaoyang say anything?" Shou Shangxing asked.

“Master Li said that you should understand once you see this,” Wen Fei said.

"Li Chaoyang, you old codger are ruthless! I've been your match for so many years!" Shou Shangxing said, somewhat exasperated.

"What's wrong, Senior Shou? Such a big reaction!" Wen Fei said.

"That annoying Li Chaoyang! He's so boring! Go back and tell him that Li Chaoyang owes me a favor! A huge favor!" Shou Shangxing put away the green thumb ring and returned it to his pocket.

Wen Fei quickly poured Shou Shangxing another glass of wine, which Shou Shangxing picked up and drank in one gulp. He then put down the glass and said, "That Li Chaoyang is such a spoilsport, I'm not drinking anymore! I'm leaving!"

After Shou Shangxing finished speaking, he got up and walked out of the tent. Wen Fei glanced at Yuchi Liang and got up to follow him.

"Senior Shou! Wait for me!" Wen Fei caught up with Shou Shangxing.

“Don’t follow me anymore. I will help Li Chaoyang with what he asked me to do!” Shou Shangxing said.

"I just want to know how Senior Shou ended up with a green thumb ring?" Wen Fei asked.

"If you want to know, come with me!" Shou Shangxing said, and flew far away.

Wen Fei also leaped away, following behind Shou Shangxing.
