The Young Swordsman of Dalu

Wenfei had a smile on his face and occasionally laughed in his sleep. Li Wei heard Wenfei's laughter while she was half asleep and half awake. She wondered what Wenfei was laughing about. When she opened her eyes, she saw that Wenfei was still asleep with a smile on his face.

Wenfei dreamed of his grandmother, and he shouted happily, "Grandma! You're back! I missed you so much!"

Grandma didn't say anything, just smiled kindly at Wenfei. Wenfei wanted to rush into Grandma's arms, but no matter how hard he chased after her, he couldn't catch up with her.

Wenfei cried sadly, "Grandma! Don't you want Wenfei anymore, Grandma!"

Grandma walked further and further away, and Wenfei kept chasing after her. Suddenly, Wenfei tripped and fell, and his green thumb ring rolled out of his pocket. Wenfei picked up the green thumb ring and shouted at his grandma, "Grandma! Tell me, what's the use of the green thumb ring?"

Grandma turned and glanced at him, smiling as she said, "Go home! I'll be waiting for you at home!" Then she disappeared into the mist.

"Grandma! Grandma! Wait for me! Take me home! I want to go home!" Wenfei shouted.

With a "thump," Wenfei fell off the stool, startled awake. He opened his eyes and saw Li Wei standing beside him. He quickly got up from the ground.

“You’re dreaming,” Li Wei said.

"It seems so, I'm sorry you had to see that," Wenfei said apologetically.

“You miss your grandma so much! Your grandma must have been really good to you,” Li Wei said.

“I was raised by my grandmother since I was a child,” Wenfei said.

Wenfei changed into a set of night clothes. Before leaving, he opened the door a crack and looked out. He found that there were still a few overnight guests eating in the lobby of the inn. He prepared to go out through the back window of his room.

Wenfei opened the back window of the room, about to fly out, when Li Wei grabbed him and said, "You must come back safely!"

"Definitely!" Wen Fei looked at Li Wei with deep affection, then leaped away.

Li Wei didn't close the window until she could no longer see Wen Fei, and then she sat quietly on the bed waiting.

Wen Fei scaled walls and rooftops on the streets of Yancheng, evading the patrol teams, and soon arrived outside the palace of the Northern Dynasty.

Wen Fei decided to see Murong Bo, and he went straight to Zhengqian Palace.

Murong Bo had just finished reviewing the last memorial in Zhengqian Palace. He stretched and raised his arms, and then Eunuch Liu brought out the midnight snack.

"Your Majesty! You've had a long night, have something to eat!" Eunuch Liu placed a bowl of lotus seed porridge in front of Murong Bo.

"Is there any good news?" Murong Bo asked, putting down the bowl in his hand.

"This servant has indeed brought good news for Your Majesty!" Eunuch Liu said with a fawning smile.

"Speak quickly!" Murong Bo said.

"Bai Liheng's men have found the Empress Dowager's location. She and Ji Wuchang are in a valley in the far north, accompanied by a large python," said Eunuch Liu.

"Does she really yearn for a free life that much? And she even has someone to keep her company, Grandmother! But how can I explain to the ancestors of my Murong family that you are with Ji Wuchang!" Murong Bo said with a dark face.

"Your Majesty! Should we take our men and bring Ji Wuchang back?" said Eunuch Liu.

"Your Majesty! Our scouts report that Wenfei and Li Wei have not come out since they entered Yongfu Inn," said Eunuch Liu.

“I don’t believe Wenfei will stay in the inn forever. He will definitely take some action and have people keep a close watch on them,” Murong Bo said.

“Yes, Your Majesty!” said Eunuch Liu.

"I want to return to my palace," Murong Bo said.

"Your Majesty! This servant has already ordered someone to escort Consort Qing to your palace," said Eunuch Liu.

“Alright! I’m off!” Murong Bo said.

As Eunuch Liu left the Zhengqian Hall, Wen Fei overheard their conversation clearly from outside the hall.

After watching Eunuch Liu leave from the corridor outside the hall, Wen Fei quietly entered the Zhengqian Hall and went into Murong Bo's bedchamber.

Murong Bo was changing his clothes, his eyes fixed on Consort Qing on the bed. Consort Qing was wrapped in a quilt and waiting for Murong Bo's favor. Just as Murong Bo took off his last piece of clothing, Wen Fei had already walked up behind him. Consort Qing on the bed looked at Wen Fei, her eyes wide with fright. She wanted to scream, but no sound came out.

Seeing Consort Qing's expression, Murong Bo was displeased and said, "What? Am I that scary?"

"Wenfei! What are you doing coming to my palace so late at night?" Murong Bo was still a little scared.

"Scared? I'm here to tell you that your life and death are in my hands!" Wen Fei gave Murong Bo a wicked smile.

"Wenfei! You..., someone come here!" Murong Bo said.

"Shout as loud as you can! I'll see who dares to touch me when you're in my hands!" Wen Fei said.

Murong Bo slumped to the ground like a deflated balloon, and said helplessly, "Wenfei, what exactly do you want?"

After watching Wen Fei leave, Murong Bo collapsed to the ground, feeling completely limp.
