The Young Swordsman of Dalu

Chapter 103 The Great Battle with Liu He

Every cell in the Sanyuan County government office was full of people. Those with criminal records had been released by the former Sanyuan County Magistrate and Liu He to act as thugs. Most of the remaining people were either doing business in Sanyuan or wealthy people passing through Sanyuan on their way to escape overseas. Those who were unlucky were arrested by Liu He and put in prison.

Liu He ordered these people to write home, promising release if they paid money; otherwise, they would remain in the prison. If the prison became too full, Liu He would find a pretext to kill and rob them, executing a group of them. Such utter depravity and inhumanity were beyond Wenwu's comprehension. Unable to stop it, he repeatedly reported the matter to his superiors, but each time his reports went unanswered. Because of this, Wenwu survived several assassination attempts, only miraculously escaping death thanks to his martial arts skills.

In order to prevent those innocent lives from dying in vain, Wenwu must rescue the innocent people in the prison before Liu He issues the order to kill.

Wenwu rushed to the county jail, with Wenfei and Yang Tai following behind. The jailer stepped forward and said, "Lord Wen! You've finally arrived. Lord Liu is about to kill someone again."

"Has his order been issued?" Wenwu asked.

"They made us buy them a meal before they left, and after they ate it, they sent them off. It's such a tragedy!" the jailer said helplessly.

"Isn't he just acting recklessly? Does he think that our Great Lu Kingdom can't deal with a mere county magistrate like him? Third Brother! Just release these people and leave the rest to me. I don't believe Liu He can control everything." Wen Fei said angrily.

When Zhou Shiyao heard what Wen Fei and the others were saying outside while he was in the prison cell, he felt much more at ease.

"Gao Yuan! Our saviors have arrived!" Zhou Shiyao exclaimed happily.

"Sir, where are the people who saved us? I can't see them," Gao Yuan said dejectedly.

“The people speaking outside are the ones who have come to rescue us,” Zhou Shiyao said confidently.

"Let's hope so!" Gao Yuan said.

“Warden, give me the keys. I’ll open these cell doors. If the higher-ups investigate, just say I, Wenfei, forced you to open them. It won’t affect your career much,” Wenfei said.

"Fourth brother, I, Wenwu, am not a coward who fears death. For the sake of the people, I would rather be shattered to pieces. There is nothing to be afraid of," Wenwu said firmly.

"Third Brother, what are we waiting for? Open the jail cell!" Wenfei said.

"Open the cell! Release him!" Wenwu said.

The cell door was flung open instantly, and everyone inside rushed out. Zhou Shiyao and Gao Yuan followed the flow of people out of the cell. Zhou Shiyao walked up to the Wenwu brothers and gave them a second look. Zhou Shiyao's face flashed past Wenwu, and Wenwu suddenly felt that the face was somewhat familiar, as if he had seen it somewhere before. He didn't have time to think about it and told the people in the cell to leave quickly. When they left the cell, they found that it was already surrounded by the thugs brought by Liu He.

Most of the people released from prison were businessmen and weak scholars who had no martial arts skills. They were no match for those thugs and scoundrels. They were terrified of these thugs because they had been tortured by them.

"Don't be afraid. With me, Wenfei, here today, I'd like to see who dares to lay a finger on you!" Wenfei said, standing in front.

“Liu He! Don’t go too far. Although this place is far from the imperial court, it is still the territory of our Great Lu Kingdom. Aren’t you afraid that His Majesty the Emperor will find out about this? How will you deal with it then?” Wenwu said.

"Wenwu! I've wanted to get rid of you for a long time, but you managed to escape by luck. Today, you'll disappear with them! Kill them!" Liu He said in a frenzy.

The thugs swarmed forward, and Wen Fei shouted, "Great Wind Flies! Rise!" The thugs all fell to the ground in response.

Liu He shrank back in fright, grabbed Zhang Ermao's hand and said, "This man has some real skills. Where did Wenwu find such a savior?"

"Don't be afraid, sir! I think he's just bluffing. Hurry up and kill him!" Zhang Ermao shouted arrogantly.

The thugs got up from the ground, got into position, but none of them dared to step forward.

"Come on! Grandpa can't wait!" Wenfei challenged.

"Get up, you useless trash! I've wasted my time raising you!" Liu He shouted hysterically.

The thugs swarmed forward again, but Wen Fei smiled and used a move called "Sea Waves," which knocked the thugs to the ground by an invisible force.

The thugs rushed forward again, but Wen Fei used another move, "Sun and Moon Shining Together," which left the thugs disoriented.

"Archers, get ready! Hurry!" Zhang Ermao shouted.

Archers suddenly appeared on the walls of the county government office and surrounded it.

"Let's see how much more capable you are!" Liu He arrogantly walked up to Wen Fei.

"You'll see how arrogant I am in a moment! Third Brother, you take them to hide in the cell, I'll take care of the outside," Wen Fei said with boundless pride.

“Fourth brother, I’ll go with you!” Wenwu said firmly.

"Third Brother, the people of Sanyuan need you. Go in, I'm fine." Wenfei pushed Wenwu into the cell.

"Shoot the arrows! Kill him!" Liu He shouted.

The archers unleashed a flurry of arrows at Wen Fei, but he leaped into the air, dodging the rain of arrows. The archers then fired their second arrows at him, but Wen Fei had already landed on the wall. He unleashed his invisible chain kicks on the archers, sending them tumbling off the wall and landing in the courtyard of the county government office, each one wincing in pain.

"Lord Liu, it's your turn!" Wen Fei turned around with a smile and came to Liu He's side, grabbing him.

"What are you trying to do? I am an official appointed by the imperial court!" Liu He said shamelessly.

“I have never seen such a depraved, ruthless, and shameless official as you in our Great Lu Kingdom. Tell me, what will happen to you if our Emperor finds out what you have done?” Wen Fei said.

"Help me! Zhang Ermao!" Liu He shouted for help to Zhang Ermao.

"Go quickly! Save the master!" Zhang Ermao cowered among the thugs, not daring to take a single step forward.

The thugs didn't dare to step forward. Wen Fei grabbed Liu He and walked forward, while the thugs were so frightened that they could only retreat.

Seeing that things were not going well, Zhang Ermao tried to escape, but Yang Tai came out of the cell, intercepted him, and captured him. When the thugs saw this, they all dropped their weapons and knelt down to surrender.

Wenwu and the others came out of the prison cell and were very pleased to see the situation outside.

"Fourth brother, you're really something!"

"Third Brother, it's up to you!" Wenfei pushed Liu He in front of Wenwu.

"Yang, take your men and lock these bastards in this cell until the new magistrate arrives to deal with them," Wenwu said.

Yang Tai and his men imprisoned Liu and his group.

“You’ve all suffered inside these past few days. I will arrange for you to return home safely as soon as possible,” Wenwu said.

Everyone thanked Wenwu and left the county government office. Watching them leave, Wenwu felt a little comforted.

"Why haven't these two gentlemen left yet?" Wenwu turned around and saw Zhou Shiyao and Gao Yuan still standing in the courtyard.

“We have nowhere to go,” Zhou Shiyao said.

"You are...." Wenwu looked at the person in front of him. It felt so familiar. Suddenly, he realized who this person was, and he became nervous.

“I am,” Zhou Shiyao said with a smile, looking at Wenwu.
