Inviting the Moon to the Farmhouse

The river valley village, shrouded in night, is immersed in tranquility.

On the riverbank, a woman with a graceful figure fiddled with reeds in her hands, seemingly waiting for someone.

Soon after, a refined-looking man appeared behind her; it was Xia Yao.

The woman seemed to hear his footsteps and turned around nervously. The moment she saw him, a smile appeared on her face. "I knew you would come," she said, and then she stepped forward and hugged him.

Xia Yao trembled and gently pushed her away, "A Tao, don't do this."

Li Tao looked surprised and put on an innocent expression. "What's wrong with you?"

"What's wrong with me? Don't you know?!" Xia Yao said coldly.

Li Tao asked with concern, "Is your injury still not healed?"

Xia Yao didn't speak or look at her. "Atao, I've thought a lot about this lately. I think we can't go on like this. Let's not see each other again."

Li Tao looked surprised. "What are you saying?!"

“Our relationship is going to end sooner or later, so we might as well end it now before it gets discovered,” Xia Yao said.

Li Tao shook her head tightly, "No, no, I won't separate. I can't sleep at night because I miss you so much during this time. I can't live without you."

"Ha, you mean you missed me so much that you slept with Zhang Mazi?!"

Xia Yao forcefully untied her hands from his and pushed her away, "Sneaking down there?! Wake up!"

"How can you expect me to come to my senses? I love you, Xia Yao," Li Tao said, her eyes welling with tears. "I know I'm a widow, unworthy of you. I can give up any title, is that not even allowed?"

"No! I won't come to see you again."

Upon hearing this, Li Tao rushed over, cupped Xia Yao's face, and was about to kiss him when he looked up and dodged her.

After listening to his words, Li Tao remained silent for a moment, then her face turned cold. "In the end, it's all about that woman, isn't it? Before Xia Yao could finish speaking, Li Tao took advantage of his inattention, wrapped her arms around his neck, wrapped her legs around his waist, and tried to kiss him. He struggled and backed away, but lost his footing and fell backward, landing sideways on the reeds.

At this moment, Li Tao sat on Xia Yao's waist.

"Get down here," Xia Yao shoved Li Tao.

Li Tao clung tightly, saying, "No, you say you won't leave me, then I'll come down."

Xia Yao glared at Li Tao, then flipped over and threw her off, leaving her beneath him. Li Tao used her hands and feet to cling to him, making it difficult for Xia Yao to get up.

"Let go," Xia Yao said anxiously.

"Haha," Li Tao actually laughed, "You can't escape."

Xia Yao's body was covered in wounds, large and small, that hadn't fully healed, and now he was in pain all over, too weak to struggle with her. He tried to get up, but couldn't. Exhausted, he collapsed to the ground.

This made Li Tao very happy. She let go of his neck, cupped Xia Yao's face, and kissed him.

Xia Yao tried to roll over to the side, then used his hands and feet to push Li Tao off him. He immediately got up from the ground, looked at her, then at himself, clearly finding his actions unacceptable.

Li Tao bit her lip and said, "Understand what? Understand that you have someone new now and you think I'm dirty, right? Don't forget how much I've done for you. Now you want to kick me to the curb? No way."

"You're threatening me?!" Xia Yao narrowed his eyes.
