Leng Nuan led Gao Mengmeng and Cai Yan into the side chamber, where they saw that half of the space was filled with more than a dozen urns. These urns were a type of burial container, generally used to bury minors or children, and were called urn coffins.

Several urn coffins had been smashed, revealing the skeletons inside, which were clearly those of adults, some twisted and deformed. It was unclear how they had been placed in the urns in the first place.

The three of them, Leng Nuan, walked up to Professor Gao.

A loud bang came from the tomb.

Leng Nuan and the others immediately ran over, only to find that where the stone coffin had been, a dark tunnel entrance had appeared because of its movement.

It turned out that Old Li had touched a protrusion on the stone coffin, which unexpectedly opened a tunnel.

The fat man shone his powerful flashlight into the tunnel and saw that there seemed to be another path below the stone steps.

Mr. Zhang and Professor Gao exchanged a glance, seemingly confirming something. Professor Gao said, "Let's go! The main burial chamber must be down below."

The fat man went down into the tunnel first, and after reporting that he was safe, the other six followed, with Leng Nuan bringing up the rear.

After all seven people had gone down, there was a loud bang from above, the stone coffin moved back to its original position, and the entrance closed.

"What's going on?" a somewhat panicked voice asked.

A silence fell, the only sounds in the air being the damp, rotten smell and the uneven breathing of the seven people.

"There's no turning back now. The path ahead is closed, so we can only move forward to find an exit," Master Zhang's calm voice rang out.

"What kind of hellish tomb is this?!" Old Li cursed as he followed the group that was moving forward again.

The tomb passage was very low and narrow, and the group could only move forward with their bodies slightly hunched over. They walked for an unknown amount of time, and their bodies became stiff from not being able to stand upright for so long.

The faint sound of flowing water could be heard ahead, and a putrid stench immediately filled the air.

All eyes were fixed on the seemingly calm ditch when suddenly, a hideous black worm, about the size of a thumb, crawled out of the mouth of the floating corpse and began to wriggle towards them.

A rustling sound came from the belly of the floating corpse, and a large swarm of corpse beetles swarmed out, making the person who saw it feel disgusted. One of the corpse beetles crawled up the stone path along the floating corpse and shook its body as it came towards them.

"Run!" Fatty Shi shouted, then ran off down the road without looking back.

The others were stunned for a moment, then they also started running.

Leng Nuan turned around and saw a swarm of insects surging towards her like a black tide.
