The Path to Lordship Begins in the North

Hammond was temporarily recalled to serve as the chief commander of the sheriffs, responsible for leading the Lars Knights to help maintain order.

In compensation, Lind gave Hammond many conveniences in personnel matters, especially the knights around Hammond, almost all of whom were Hammond's former subordinates.
