The Path to Lordship Begins in the North

In the eternal frozen land, frost has covered the entire city of the demon race, but it is more like a large tribe than a city.

Most of the demons have moved to the Surd region. Although the Surd region, located in the northern part of the North, is still very cold, its natural environment is much better than that of the permafrost. In addition, humans have been cultivating the Surd region for a long time. Compared with the permafrost, Surd is simply paradise on earth.

Several humans followed behind the demon leader, carrying large and small bags of tools, and groped their way down with Daniel.

These humans didn't look very old; the oldest were probably just adults. Looking down into the stench-filled abyss, these human children felt both fear and anticipation.

"Why ask so many questions? Just follow along obediently!"

Daniel responded impatiently. After a long period of rest, Daniel, who had returned from the front lines, was beginning to miss life on the front lines again.

Daniel was once active on the front lines of the fight against inferior humans, conducting reconnaissance deep into the northern heartland and occasionally spreading plague viruses.

Back then, they lived a carefree and happy life. They didn't even need to plunder; they just needed to follow Boss Harlan and find a few human bandits or Dogger soldiers. Those humans would immediately offer the demons good wine and meat as tribute, and there was absolutely no danger.

The thought of the nuns made Daniel's legs tremble, and he stumbled, almost falling off the walkway.

A human child reacted quickly and stepped forward to help Daniel, but Daniel angrily kicked the human child away.

Seeing that Daniel was angry, the human children immediately knelt down and kowtowed.

But Daniel was met with ridicule from his comrades.

They couldn't even handle a group of nuns, yet they have the nerve to run back?

The demons believed this was most likely a lie fabricated by Daniel to evade responsibility. Aren't nuns all weak and innocent? Even the nuns at the Basilica of Our Lady of Salvation were overrun by the demons and ultimately became subjects of their experiments.

Daniel nodded repeatedly. Those nuns were the same nuns from the Basilica of Our Lady of Salvation. But he didn't expect his demon brethren to laugh even harder.

Another companion who escaped with Daniel did not improve after receiving oral surgery and went completely insane, rendering Daniel's testimony a single, isolated case.

Daniel was still unwilling to give up and kept demanding an investigation, but as the demons began to gather their strength, those who had ventured deep into the northern territory began to retreat.

According to the descriptions of the returning demons, there was indeed a convent, but that convent was not responsible for combat. Instead, it simply served as a support and medical team, accompanying Emily Laurent, who had returned to the human race, on bandit suppression in the North.

The main force in the battle was not the nuns, but the knights Lars.

From then on, Daniel became a laughingstock, Harlan's sacrifice was seen as reckless ambition that led to his annihilation by the Lars Knights. To save face, Daniel fabricated a lie, while another of his comrades, who had already gone mad, still had some sense of shame and went insane because he couldn't accept the defeat.

In the end, Daniel was transferred back to the Eternal Frozen Land to take charge of matters related to the Demon God.

As he moved further away from the battlefield and time slowly passed, Daniel even began to doubt that what had happened was just a dream, a lie he had fabricated to avoid admitting defeat. In the end, Daniel successfully hypnotized himself.

It was indeed Harlan's fault for being greedy and reckless, which led to his being ambushed by Knight Lars. Daniel didn't want to be ridiculed anymore and wanted to return to the front lines to prove himself.

Now, as long as he brings two more batches of human children to the Demon God, Daniel can return to the front lines.

As Daniel and his group ventured deeper into the cave, the light diminished, and Daniel soon led the human children to a platform.

When the demons dug it, this abyss wasn't this big; it was really just a large hole to shelter from the wind. But ever since human prisoners started being brought here, the hole has been expanded into a true abyss.

A middle-aged man with a deeply lined face strode forward and bowed to Daniel with a beaming smile.

But Daniel didn't respond. Instead, he said directly, "Let these brats go down."

The middle-aged man nodded and immediately scolded the children who had come down, "What are you looking at? Stop daydreaming, you'll have plenty of opportunities to see this later!"

But the children remained stunned, staring at the enormous creature below. No, it wasn't even certain if it could be called a creature; it was a huge lump of hairy flesh. If you looked closely, you could see that what was on the flesh wasn't hair, but tiny tentacles. There was also a pair of huge hooves extending from the bottom of the flesh.

It is probably because of its hooves that we can recognize it as a creature.

What the children saw when they gazed out of the cave entrance was not an impenetrable black abyss, but this enormous black mass of flesh.
