The handsome guy next door loves to flirt.

Chapter 112 Advising her to leave

"Minmin, are you busy? If you come back to take care of me, what will happen to the factory?" Liu Yufen was much better after a night's rest, but she could tell that her daughter was very tired.

"Don't worry, Mom, just focus on getting better. There are people at the factory keeping an eye on things for me. Ah Kun, why don't you take Dad and Jiajia home for a nap? I'll stay and take care of Mom." Minmin waved her hand, not wanting her mother to worry about her.

Mingkun initially wanted to say no, but seeing that his father hadn't slept well all night and looked very tired, and knowing he was getting old and couldn't handle too much exertion, he nodded. Jiajia, on the other hand, had gotten up too early that morning and was also sleepy; children are prone to drowsiness.

Minmin stayed for breakfast, and Mingkun took his father and Jiajia home. Just a short while after they left, Chen Manyun arrived.

"You are... Sister Minmin, right?" Chen Manyun knocked on the ward door and stood there. When a strange woman opened the door, though she looked somewhat like Liu Yufen, she hesitated and wasn't quite sure. She hadn't seen her for several years and wasn't sure if it was her.

“I am Xiao Minmin, and you must be Chen Manyun.” Minmin confirmed, seeing that the woman looked very much like the one Mingkun had described.

"Man Yun is here!" Liu Yufen tried to sit up as soon as she heard that Man Yun was here.

"Mom, you can't move! Have you forgotten what the doctor told you?" Minmin held her mother down to stop her from moving. However, she was quite surprised that Chen Manyun, who hadn't been living in their house for very long, was so close to her mother. As soon as her mother heard that she was coming, she tried to sit up.

"Auntie, you can't move right now, you need to rest more. Once you're better, we can go home. Look! I made you some thick porridge." After saying that, she opened the insulated container she had brought.

Liu Yufen had only drunk a few mouthfuls of porridge earlier, mainly because she had no appetite. But when she smelled the aroma of another bowl of porridge, she immediately wanted to eat something.

Manyun was serving porridge, and Minmin watched her thoughtfully. This girl… wasn't as pretty as Yunshu, but she wasn't ugly either; she was the demure type. She could cook, and the aroma of her porridge was different—it had red beans, millet, and other whole grains added, showing thoughtfulness. She was very caring. Minmin didn't feel uncomfortable seeing her; on the contrary, she felt the girl was quite approachable. No wonder her mother liked her so much and wanted her to be her daughter-in-law.

However, Minmin also felt a sense of crisis for Yunshu. It seemed that the engagement wouldn't be so easy to cancel. Her mother now only had eyes for Chen Manyun as her daughter-in-law. Sigh! Hopefully, this wouldn't affect Mingkun and Yunshu's relationship.

"Let me feed my mom! Manyun, you're a guest, you must be tired after just arriving, why don't you rest for a while?" Minmin grabbed the bowl without saying a word and prepared to feed her mother herself.

Manyun was surprised by Minmin's sudden action. Her eyelids twitched, but she didn't say anything. She obediently sat down next to them and watched Minmin feed Liu Yufen porridge.

Minmin felt a little better after seeing that the girl was quite smart and knew how to read people's expressions.

Finally, Liu Yufen ate a small half bowl, and her spirits lifted. She said, "Manyun is a very good cook! Look how much I've eaten. Minmin, you also think that Akun and she are a good match, right? Manyun is good at taking care of people. We'll feel at ease with her by Akun's side taking care of him. Otherwise, Akun, a grown man, is out working hard every day, and there's not even anyone to cook and do laundry for him."

Minmin's expression didn't change much after hearing this, and she replied, "Mom, just hire a nanny. Getting married isn't like hiring a nanny, you can't be so casual. They haven't even met yet, you don't know their interests or anything, how do you know if they're compatible? Jiajia's dad and I had such a good relationship before! But we still got divorced in the end!"

"Don't mention that heartless man! Why does this child have to bring up this? It's so upsetting!" Liu Yufen was annoyed that her daughter didn't know how to speak properly, always bringing up the most sensitive topics. Jiajia's father's family was worse than animals, a hypocritical and problematic family.

"Alright, alright! Don't be angry, or your illness will flare up again. You'll be the one suffering anyway!" Minmin pouted, her eyelids flickering as she glanced at Manyun, who was frowning beside her.

Liu Yufen sighed, "It's all Ah Kun's fault, this child is such a worry..." Just thinking about her son made her head ache again.

"Mom, don't think about these things now. Getting better is the most important thing. We can deal with Ah Kun's matter later!" She helped her mother lie down, pulled the blanket up, and told her to rest more.

“Manyun, let’s go outside and talk. Let my mom rest here in peace for a while.”

Manyun's eyes flashed, and she nodded in response, "Okay, Sister Min. Auntie, you rest for a while, and we'll come in to keep you company later."

Liu Yufen agreed. She had been a little angry earlier, and the movement had made her head ache, so she didn't dare to move anymore and closed her eyes to rest for a while.

Minmin and Manyun were sitting on chairs in the hallway outside the door, unsure of who would speak first to break the awkward atmosphere.

After a long pause, Minmin finally steeled herself and asked, "Manyun, have you graduated yet? You look quite young."

“I graduated at the end of June and went to university in another province, so I don’t usually visit my sister and everyone in the village,” Manyun replied softly and gently. She could sense Xiao Minmin’s hostility towards her in the hospital room earlier, and now that Xiao Minmin had asked her to come out and talk, Manyun couldn’t help but worry that she wouldn’t be able to handle this woman who had no good intentions towards her.

"Really? You're not that old. It's already September. You graduated back then. What... you didn't go to work?" Minmin was a little surprised. You graduated a few months ago and you're not going to work. Why would you want to get married so soon? She didn't believe that this woman would listen to her family so much. Nowadays, very few young people get married right after graduation. They want to play around for a few years or work for two years and have some financial foundation before considering marriage. Yunshu is such a girl. She didn't want to get married right away before.

"I was working after graduation, but suddenly my sister and mom called me home. I don't know when they got me engaged!" Manyun said with a wry smile, somewhat embarrassed. She guessed that Minmin knew she was also innocent and hadn't known about the marriage beforehand.

Seeing that her answer didn't seem fake, Minmin realized that she genuinely didn't know about the engagement her family had arranged for her, and she was even more unaware that Mingkun had a girlfriend. Under these circumstances, she had been unwittingly engaged and was now living in her family's house; she seemed quite innocent. However, even so, Minmin didn't want to feel sorry for her, because if she didn't persuade her to leave now, what would happen to her own Akun and Yunshu? Someone had to step aside and leave.

After hesitating for a moment, he asked again, "Man Yun, do you know that Ah Kun has a girlfriend?"
