With her last bit of strength, Zheng Juan lifted her head to look at Ye Xinghe, her eyes glistening with tears. A smile of apology appeared on her lips before she slowly closed her eyes.

By the time the doctor arrived at the scene, Zheng Juan had already passed away.

After a thorough examination, the doctor confirmed that Zheng Juan was dead at the scene and issued relevant medical certificates and a death certificate.

Ye Xingyu, as Zheng Juan's only immediate family member, needed to sign the confirmation. Ye Xinghe pushed him towards the doctor's office.

On the way there, Ye Xinghe discussed with him whether they should donate Zheng Juan's body. Such a person shouldn't be buried in the Ye family cemetery; even if she were buried in another cemetery, no one would pay their respects. Donating her body would be her final contribution to the country's medical education and scientific research; if it could save lives, it would be a way to accumulate some good karma for her.

After a moment's thought, Ye Xingyu nodded in agreement. He then signed both the death confirmation and the body donation consent form.

When the two returned to the ward, Ye Xinghe saw a familiar figure.

"Aunt Wang!" Ye Xinghe's clear voice rang out especially loudly in the hospital night. "It really is you, Aunt Wang. I thought I had mistaken you for someone else. What brings you to the hospital? Are you feeling unwell?"

It turned out that Zheng Juan felt unwell when she returned to her room from Ye Xingyu's place, and immediately contacted Wang Lijun. However, Wang Lijun didn't arrive for more than two hours.

A flicker of panic crossed Wang Lijun's eyes, which quickly transformed into a look of surprise. "Xinghe, I'm here to visit a friend at the hospital. What's going on here?"

"Oh, Aunt Wang. Our family has really been plagued by misfortune lately." Ye Xinghe frowned slightly and sighed softly. "I don't know if Brother Mofan told you when he got back, but on my mother's birthday, a video of my sister-in-law cheating was shown. On the day of the divorce, my brother was in a car accident. And just now, my sister-in-law has been confirmed dead."

Although Wang Lijun didn't like her niece Zheng Juan, the word "death" still startled her. She hadn't expected Zheng Juan to die so soon! If the "little ghost's" magic had worked, how would she deal with it now?

Wang Lijun pulled herself together, her face showing sorrow, and slowly said, "Please accept my condolences."

Ye Xinghe smiled faintly, her lips slightly twitching. "Aunt Wang, you go ahead and do your work. I'll take my older brother back to his room now and then go and collect my sister-in-law's belongings."

Hearing this, Wang Lijun was immediately horrified. She hadn't considered this possibility, assuming she could simply clean up the room later. But Zheng Juan had that thing in her bag; if Ye Xinghe found it, who knew what would happen next!

"Is there a lot of stuff? I'm not in a hurry. Why don't I go with you to take a look?" Wang Lijun said, feigning concern. "You're all children, so you probably don't understand these things. After someone passes away, there are many rules and regulations. Some things can't be brought home."

Ye Xinghe's mouth dropped open in astonishment. "Huh? There are such interpretations? My mother isn't at the hospital right now. Aunt Wang, won't this be too much trouble for you?"

Wang Lijun quickly said it was no trouble at all. The two of them escorted Ye Xingyu back to his room and then went to Zheng Juan's ward together.

As soon as she entered the room, Wang Lijun went straight to Zheng Juan's handbag.

"Xinghe, go check inside the blankets, and in the drawers and cabinets by the bed to see if anything has been left behind."

While absentmindedly lifting the blanket, Ye Xinghe glanced out of the corner of her eye and saw Wang Lijun open Zheng Juan's bag, where a red cloth was clearly visible.

Ye Xinghe knew, of course, that Hua Qingmeng had already switched the contents of the bag, so she deliberately teased, "Aunt Wang, I think I saw a piece of red cloth in the bag, what is that?"

Wang Lijun looked slightly embarrassed and stammered, "Ah... it's nothing, just a piece of red cloth. I don't know what it's for."

He then added, "There's nothing valuable in this bag, so I suggest burning it all."

Ye Xinghe nodded gently and said softly, "Okay, I'll do as you say."

Wang Lijun zipped up her handbag and just placed it on her feet. At that moment, Ye Xinghe walked over. "Oh right, let me check if there's anything inside, something to keep as a memento for my brother." With that, she bent down to pick up the bag from the ground.

At the same time, Wang Lijun quickly picked up her bag and hugged it to her chest. "There are so many things at home. It's better to burn these things for your sister-in-law."

Ye Xinghe was overjoyed to see cold sweat beading on her forehead.

Actually, there wasn't much to pack; Zheng Juan only brought this one large handbag. Ye Xinghe was just putting on an act, quietly watching Wang Lijun's performance.

Finally, Wang Lijun said that there are certain rules to follow when burning the deceased's belongings; the time and place must be chosen correctly, otherwise it will be bad for Ye Xinghe's elder brother.

Ye Xinghe did as she wished, chatted for a few minutes, and finally asked Wang Lijun to handle it.

The first thing Wang Lijun did upon returning home was to contact Ajarn Noyi and tell him that Zheng Juan had passed away and what to do with the "little devil" she was dealing with.

Ajarn Noi asked her to take a photo and send it to him, and then told her exactly what to do.

Wang Lijun took out the "little devil" picture, unfolded the red cloth, took a picture, and sent it over.

A short while later, Ajahn Noi replied to the message: "This is not mine."

Wang Lijun didn't understand what Ajarn meant, so she quickly called to ask.

Ajarn Noryi then asked her to take pictures of the four corners of the red cloth on the sole of the "little ghost's" right foot. Wang Lijun sent the photos as requested, and received the reply that the "little ghost" was not the one he had cast the spell on, but the red cloth was indeed his.

Each item made by Ajarn has its own unique mark. For example, Ajarn Noi's mark is the letter N. He made a mark on the sole of the "little devil's" right foot, and also on the four corners of the red cloth wrapped around it.

Wang Lijun searched repeatedly but couldn't find any symbol. So she asked Ajarn if he might have misremembered the location or if the mark had been rubbed off.

Ajarn says he absolutely cannot be mistaken. When he creates the "little ghost," if it's a female fetus, he marks it on the right foot! And he uses special ink that can't be rubbed off, not even with any reagent.

Wang Lijun was dumbfounded! It was obvious someone had switched the babies! She sat frozen on the sofa, terrified of the unknown child. She couldn't figure out where things had gone wrong. Now that Zheng Juan was gone too, there was no way to verify anything.

But she had a feeling that this matter was probably related to the Ye family!
