Zheng Juan wasn't asleep; she just felt cold and weak all over, her eyes half-closed. She dared not sleep, afraid that if she fell asleep, that thing would appear in her dreams again. She sensed movement around her, so she opened her eyes and weakly called out, "Auntie."

"Juanjuan, what's wrong with you?!" Wang Lijun was suspicious. Although raising a ghost child would definitely have a backlash, it shouldn't happen so soon.

"The doctor said it was a stomach hemorrhage." Zheng Juan forced herself to sit up, patted the spot next to her to let Wang Lijun sit down, and then quietly recounted what had happened in Ye Xingyu's ward that morning.

"Auntie, why hasn't Ye Xingyu's attitude towards me changed at all? Ajarn Noryi said the ritual went very smoothly, and we should see results as early as today."

Wang Lijun rolled her eyes at her and said irritably, "You're too impatient. Generally, it takes about a week to see results after a ritual, or at the earliest two or three days. Just wait and see. You won't even need to lift a finger; Ye Xingyu will contact you on his own."

Zheng Juan nodded blankly, a slight smile playing on her lips. There was nothing she could do now but wait patiently.

Seeing that Zheng Juan didn't have much time left, Wang Lijun took pity on her and arranged for her to be admitted to the hospital.

After dinner, a tall, slender cleaner appeared at the hospital's inpatient department. He carried a bucket in his left hand and a rag in his right as he entered Zheng Juan's ward.

In the evening, there were only two patients in this ward, including Zheng Juan; the rest had gone home.

After the cleaner entered the room, she started cleaning from the inside, clearing out the lunch boxes, and wiping down the bedside table as well.

He went to Zheng Juan's bedside, picked up her water glass, and quietly dropped a small white pill between his fingers. The pill dissolved instantly in water, colorless and odorless. After drinking this water, she would fall asleep the moment her head hit the pillow, and wouldn't wake up until she had slept for at least 12 hours.

The cleaner continued tidying the other beds, watching Zheng Juan finish her drink before taking the trash and tools out of the room. As she closed the door, a wicked glint flashed in a pair of silver-gray phoenix eyes.

Hospital ward lights are turned off at 9:30 PM. The night shift starts at 11:00 PM, and ward rounds are conducted every hour thereafter. Therefore, all operations must begin after the night shift handover and be completed before midnight.

Three nurses are on duty tonight. At 11:15 p.m., the night shift nurses finished their handover, and the inpatient ward was quiet.

Lin Hao was dressed fairly normally today, wearing a white cotton shirt and light brown straight-leg casual pants. The clothes completely covered his muscular physique, and combined with his youthful, student-like face, he looked like a college student. He had originally wanted to wear a floral shirt with a tropical flair, but Hua Qingmeng decisively refused.

Lin Hao, carrying a thermos, slowly approached the front desk, his voice clear and deep, "Nurse, do you have any hot water left?"

An older nurse with short hair was pleased to be called "sister." She looked up at Lin Hao and said softly, "You can go inside to get it."

Lin Hao's brows relaxed, and he revealed a friendly smile as he walked into the back office.

After he went inside and took a look, he saw that it was a pump-type water dispenser. So he took out the cable tie he had prepared beforehand and strangled the water hose inserted into the water tank.

"Nurse, why isn't the water coming out?" Lin Hao poked his head out from the inner office. "Is there no water?"

The short-haired nurse said, "That's impossible. I just changed it before my shift last night. Let me take a look."

The two fiddled with it for a while, but still couldn't get any water out. They then called in two nurses from outside.

Taking advantage of the absence of the receptionist, Hua Qingmeng slipped into Zheng Juan's ward.

The two people in the room were fast asleep, with only soft snoring.

Hua Qingmeng let his eyes adjust to the darkness for a moment, then slowly walked to Zheng Juan's bedside.

Zheng Juan held her handbag tightly with both arms. Hua Qingmeng tugged at it, but the bag remained firmly in her grasp and didn't move.

Thankfully, the medication was administered beforehand; otherwise, he would have definitely woken up.

He grabbed Zheng Juan's arm and pulled out her bag. Then he squatted down and unzipped it.

Just as he expected, it was indeed an extremely yin object. He put the fake inside and wrapped it up exactly as it was. He put the real 'little devil' into a red velvet bag covered with talismans, and tied the bag tightly.

Just as he was about to put the bag back, Zheng Juan's roommate coughed a few times and then suddenly sat up!

Hua Qingmeng slowly lowered his center of gravity and squatted back down, quietly observing the other party's every move.

There was a bed between that person and Zheng Juan, and since the lights were off, he couldn't see that there was a third person in the room.

Suddenly, the person turned on the light. Taking advantage of the moment when the other person closed their eyes, Hua Qingmeng quickly crawled under the bed.

The person sat for a while longer, until their eyes adjusted to the light, and then slowly walked towards the bathroom.

Hua Qingmeng checked the time; it was 11:35. The nurses would start their rounds in 25 minutes. She wondered how much longer Lin Hao could stall outside.

After the person finished using the toilet and came out of the bathroom, he sat on the edge of the bed for another 5 minutes before turning off the light.

Hua Qingmeng waited quietly under the bed for the other person to fall asleep. Time passed second by second, and with only 3 minutes left until 12 o'clock, she finally heard snoring.

Hua Qingmeng got up and put Zheng Juan's bag back, then tiptoed to the door and listened carefully to the sounds outside.

The nurses have already started their rounds.

Hua Qingmeng was unaware of the situation outside. If the three of them entered the same room at the same time, he would have a chance to escape. If the three of them searched the rooms separately, they would quickly find the room he was in.

He scanned the room, looking for a place to hide.

Just then, a woman's scream echoed down the corridor. The voice wasn't loud, but the fear in her voice was palpable.

"There are cockroaches! Several of them! Quick! Stomp them!"

Immediately following was Lin Hao's voice, "You guys hide in the office first, close the door, and don't let it in! Leave the rest to me!"

Three nurses rushed into the office and closed the door.

Hua Qingmeng opened the door, winked at Lin Hao, and quickly ran downstairs to the parking lot.

A short while later, Lin Hao also came downstairs. The two drove to Ye Xinghe's house to collect Zheng Juan's blood.

"Thanks to my little technological invention today, otherwise how would you have escaped, Huahua?" Lin Hao drove with one hand while playing with a cockroach in the other.

This is Lin Hao's masterpiece, the Electronic Cockroach. Its appearance and movement speed are very similar to those of a real cockroach.

"Yes, thank you so much."

Hua Qingmeng's tone was very sincere and serious. Lin Hao was delighted and was about to say "You're welcome" when Hua Qingmeng added two more words, "Xiao Qiang".
