The internet cafe was dimly lit, filled with smoke, and carried a faint scent of air freshener. Oily faces were glued to their computer screens, engrossed in their battles.

Ye Xinghe went to the front desk and asked, "Hello, could you please help me find Lu Ran?"

The receptionist was a young woman with heavy smoky makeup. She glanced up at Ye Xinghe and said casually, "Second floor, the innermost room."

Ye Xinghe thanked him and followed Qiao Lin to the second floor.

The two knocked on the door several times, but no one answered. Just as they were about to leave, the person inside slowly opened the door.

Lu Ran was wearing a ripped T-shirt and plaid shorts. Her face was red and purple, and she looked at Ye Xinghe with a surprised and somewhat flustered expression. "Miss Ye? What brings you here?"

Ye Xinghe stood at the door and glanced inside. It was a single room, and the furniture and facilities were immediately apparent: a table, a chair, a bed, a beanbag chair, and a simple clothes rack.

Lu Ran invited the two in, and then moved the clothes piled on the chairs and sofa to the bed, barely making room for them to sit.

Ye Xinghe sat down in the chair and said directly, "Mr. Lu, the purpose of my visit today is to ask you if you are interested in working for Ye's Group."

Lu Ran looked hesitantly at the young woman in front of him, who appeared to be only in her early twenties. After a few seconds of silence, she asked in a hoarse voice, "Ye's? Isn't that a pharmaceutical group? What could I possibly do there?"

"Have you heard of Jincheng E-commerce Company? It was just acquired by the Ye family." Ye Xinghe leaned back in his chair and raised his chin slightly. "Now the company needs to expand rapidly, and that's exactly the time we need people. If you're interested, you can bring your brothers along."

Lu Ran's eyes were slightly dazed, and it took him a while to come back to his senses. "Miss Ye, you have investigated me? Then you must know why I left the company and why I haven't been able to find a job for so many years."

"This is the current person in charge of the company. I'll give you three days. You can contact me anytime after you've made up your mind."

Ye Xinghe and Qiao Lin came out of the internet cafe. It was lunchtime, so they decided to have lunch nearby before going to the Ye family's old house.

The two chose a Jiangnan restaurant, and as soon as they entered, they saw two familiar faces. Without the slightest hesitation, Ye Xinghe swayed her slender waist and walked lightly toward the two of them.

"What a coincidence, Brother Mofan. It's really fate that we met in such a big place as Jiangyang." Ye Xinghe said in a high-pitched voice, which greatly surprised Qiao Lin, who was standing next to her.

Without asking their opinions, she pulled Qiao Lin to sit down and asked, "Xiao Shuang, what brings you out today? Don't you have to study?"

Ye Shuang looked embarrassed, gave a slight smile, and said nothing.

Chu Mofan still wore his signature gentle smile as he gazed affectionately at Ye Xinghe, his voice deep and melodious, "We met by chance at noon. Right, Xiao Shuang?"

Ye Shuang looked up and stammered, "Yeah. I was bored with studying, so I came out for a walk and happened to run into Brother Mo Fan."

Ye Xinghe's pupils suddenly contracted, her hands under the table clenched into fists, but her face wore a bright smile.

She thought to herself, neither of them was telling the truth. This Ye Shuang, she's such a worry! Of all the people she could like, why did she have to fall for such a scumbag!

"That's quite a coincidence. Will we be disturbing you two by sitting here?"

Chu Mofan smiled gently, "How could that be? See what else you'd like to eat, and we'll add a few more dishes."

He called the waiter over to take his order and asked for two more sets of chopsticks and bowls. Ye Xinghe ordered eight more dishes without any hesitation.

"Brother Mofan, why haven't you contacted me in so long? We didn't even get to have dinner last time, and you still haven't explained about buying Jin Shasha the ring." Ye Xinghe pouted, complaining to Chu Mofan. She deliberately brought it up so Ye Shuang could hear it and hopefully curb her love-struck tendencies.

Chu Mofan hadn't expected Ye Xinghe to bring this up in front of outsiders. He gave an awkward laugh and said in a low voice, "Xinghe, let's talk about this in private. It's not what you think."

"Why are you saying this in private?" Ye Xinghe persisted, her delicate brows furrowed slightly as she looked at Chu Mofan with a mournful expression. "One is my good friend, and the other is my cousin. There are no outsiders here. Tell me, are you already engaged to Jin Shasha?"

Upon hearing this, Ye Shuang could barely hold her chopsticks, her face instantly turning ashen, and she looked at Chu Mofan with unease.

Ye Xinghe glanced at Ye Shuang with exasperation, thinking to herself: He's hopeless!

Chu Mofan was restless because of Ye Xinghe. He had asked Ye Shuang out today to subtly inquire about Ye Xinghe's recent situation. But before they could even exchange a few words, Ye Xinghe arrived. While Ye Xinghe's attitude towards him had softened somewhat, she wasn't as understanding as before. This matter gave Chu Mofan a headache. He barely ate a few bites of food before making an excuse to go back to work, paying the bill and leaving.

Ye Shuang's gaze followed Chu Mofan all the way to the restaurant entrance, her eyes filled with reluctance.

Ye Xinghe didn't take it to heart and enjoyed her meal with Qiao Lin.

On the bus, Ye Shuang hesitated several times before speaking.
