The Rise of a General's Daughter-in-Law Doctor

Chapter 125 Li Anran's New Friend Goes Shopping

The next morning, Li Anran came to Li Muxia's yard. Seeing that Li Muxia had already gotten up and was exercising, she happily ran to Li Muxia's side and laid out her yoga mat next to Li Muxia.

"Sister Xia, I knew you were doing yoga. It's been so long since I did yoga with you."

Li Muxia looked at Li Anran with a doting expression and said, "Yes, it's been a long time since I did yoga with Ran'er. Have you been slacking off while I was away from home these past few months?"

Li Anran: "Of course not. I've been doing yoga every day as Sister Xia instructed. And Lan Zhi is also doing yoga with me. She's even better than me. She can learn many difficult poses in no time."

At this point, he thought for a moment and realized that he hadn't told Li Muxia about Lanzhi, so he added, "Oh, right, Sister Xia, Lanzhi is the daughter of the Right Vice Minister of the Ministry of Personnel. You don't know what kind of life she lived at home before."

At this point, Li Anran, her face filled with anger, recounted to Li Muxia how she met Su Lanzhi.

It turned out that a month after Li Muxia left, Li Anran missed Li Muxia every day and became somewhat depressed. Seeing that Li Anran's health would not be able to take it if she continued like this, Shangguan Wanyun took Li Anran to a small banquet hosted by the official's wife. At the banquet, they encountered Su Lanzhi, who was being bullied.

Li Anran felt that Su Lanzhi was very similar to her past self. Remembering what Li Muxia had said before leaving, she mustered up her courage and argued with the girl who was bullying Su Lanzhi.

Unfortunately, she lost the argument. Fortunately, Shangguan Wanyun arrived and resolved the conflict. The young lady who had argued with Li Anran then realized Li Anran's identity and immediately apologized. After all, Li Anran was the daughter of the Protector General, while she was just the daughter of the Right Vice Minister of the Ministry of Personnel. She couldn't afford to offend her.

Li Anran also learned that the person she had argued with was actually Su Lanzhi's elder sister. She became even angrier; how could an older sister treat her younger sister like this? It was utterly despicable.

However, after glancing at her mother beside her, she pulled Su Lanzhi away.

Later, fearing that Su Lanzhi would be bullied again, Li Anran often went to the Su residence to play with her. Over time, their relationship grew better and better.

Seeing that his daughter had climbed up to the position of Protector of the Nation General, the Right Vice Minister of the Ministry of Personnel treated Su Lanzhi much better. Even her elder sister, who had bullied her, wanted Su Lanzhi to introduce her to Li Anran as good friends. Unfortunately, Li Anran already knew the true nature of this woman and of course could not accept her.

Because of Li Anran, Su Lanzhi's life in the Su family was better. Although her sisters disapproved of her, they dared not openly bully Su Lanzhi anymore, after all, the Right Vice Minister of the Ministry of Personnel had given them a stern warning.

After listening to Li Anran's words, Li Muxia smiled and said, "I didn't expect our Ran'er to be able to protect others. Well done!"

Li Muxia was generous with her praise, and Li Anran was delighted to hear it.

Looking at the somewhat proud Li Anran, Li Muxia changed the subject and said, "However, in the future, you should only help others when you are sure of your own safety. This time, it was because the Right Vice Minister of the Ministry of Personnel was afraid of Grandpa and Second Uncle that he dared not do anything to you. If this person's power and status are higher than our family's, then your situation will be dangerous."

Seeing Li Muxia's serious expression, Li Anran solemnly said, "Don't worry, sister, I won't be so reckless again."

Li Muxia patted Li Anran's head and said, "Alright, get ready and come with me to go shopping. I'll make you hot pot for lunch."

Upon hearing the word "hot pot," Li Anran's face instantly lit up with excitement. She quickly packed her things and followed Li Muxia out the door.

However, Li Muxia still wore a veil before going out. After all, she was aware of her own face and knew that it would cause a sensation if she went out.

Li Anran also put on a veil, just like Li Muxia.

However, before leaving, he made a special trip to the kitchen and had a temporary stove set up in the open space outside the kitchen.

The two arrived on the street, and Li Anran chattered incessantly to Li Muxia about the streets of Kyoto. Li Muxia looked at Li Anran, who was like a little sparrow, with amusement and listened patiently as she told her what was sold in each place, what was sold here, which snacks were delicious, and which shops had the nicest clothes.

It felt like Li Muxia was visiting Kyoto for the first time. Li Muxia wanted to complain: Ran'er, I've only been here for a few months, and Kyoto hasn't changed that much.

Besides buying ingredients for hot pot for lunch, Li Muxia also came out to inquire about Long Ziheng's whereabouts. Unfortunately, despite asking around for a long time and asking many people, she couldn't find any information about a merchant named Long in Kyoto.

Seeing Li Muxia return defeated once again, Li Anran asked curiously, "Sister, who is this Long Ziheng? You've been asking about him all morning."

Li Muxia was also a little tired at this point. When she heard Li Anran's question, she replied, "A friend I met on the way."

At this point, she looked up at the sky and said, "Alright, Ran'er, we've bought enough things, let's go back."

Looking at the four maids following behind her, as well as herself and Li Muxia, all carrying large and small bags, Li Anran sighed inwardly: If I had known we would need to buy so much stuff, I would have taken a carriage.

Seeing Li Muxia walking ahead, although she was a little tired, she still quickly followed.

When they arrived at a blacksmith's shop, Li Muxia gave the old blacksmith the blueprint for the double-compartment hot pot that she had drawn the day before, asking him to make a few for her. The old blacksmith readily agreed.

After paying the deposit, Li Muxia and Li Anran left. On the way, Li Anran asked curiously, "Sister, what's drawn on that piece of paper?"

Li Muxia patiently explained to Li Anran, "A yin-yang hot pot is used for eating hot pot."

Li Anran nodded as if she understood, then, as if remembering something, she said, "Sis, we can't cook that pot right away, so will we be able to have hot pot for lunch today?"

Li Muxia said with a smile, "Don't worry, you can still have hot pot today even without a divided pot."

The two walked and talked all the way, and soon returned to the general's mansion.

The old general and General Li have both returned from court, and even Li Anjin, who never goes home for lunch, has returned for the first time ever.

Seeing that Li Muxia and Li Anran were each carrying two large baskets of things, Li Anjin quickly stepped forward to help and took the things from their hands.

Looking at the six people, each carrying so many things, the old general remarked with a sigh, "Do we really need so many things to eat hot pot?"

Li Muxia said with a smile, "Grandpa, don't be fooled by how much stuff there is; it might not even be enough later."

After saying that, she headed towards the kitchen; these things needed to be tidied up properly for a while.
