The Primordial Mosquito Dao Chronicle

Chapter 32 Northern Darkness Severing Obsession

"Teacher!...Teacher!..." Before Tongtian could even ask a question, the scene suddenly became noisy, which greatly annoyed him.

Everyone was helpless; there were too many questions, and when would it be their turn? They all wanted Hongjun to answer them first.

Seeing the powerful figures below all asking questions, creating quite a lively scene, Hongjun waved his hand, ceasing to answer their inquiries. He said, "I will now expound on the way to sever the three corpses; listen carefully."

The Purple Cloud Palace immediately fell silent, fearing they might miss such a golden opportunity. Even the proud Three Pure Ones needed to diligently comprehend the methods to become a sage.

"The ultimate learning brings no worries, only 'yes' and 'no.' How far apart are they? Good and evil. What is the difference between them? They are what people fear, and one cannot help but fear them. The masses are bustling about, as if enjoying a great feast, as if climbing a terrace in spring. How desolate and endless it is!"

"Goodness leaves no trace, evil leaves no flaw. Goodness is calculated without counting rods, evil is sealed without bolts yet cannot be opened, good and evil are bound without ropes yet cannot be untied. Therefore, the sage is always good at saving people, so there are no abandoned people. He is always good at saving things, so there are no abandoned things. This is called inheriting enlightenment. Therefore, the good person is not the teacher of the bad person, and the bad person is the resource of the bad person. If one does not value one's teacher or cherish one's resources, even if one is wise, one will be greatly confused. This is the essential mystery."

"When everyone knows what is beautiful, then ugliness exists. When everyone knows what is good, then ugliness is no longer present. Therefore, existence and non-existence give rise to each other, difficulty and ease complement each other, long and short define each other, high and low incline towards each other, sound and silence harmonize with each other, and front and back follow each other. Thus, the sage acts without acting and teaches without speaking. He lets all things arise without refusing them, gives birth to them without possessing them, acts without relying on them, and accomplishes his work without claiming credit. It is precisely because he does not claim credit that his achievements do not depart from him."

"The Three Corpses are those who indulge in selfish and averse to food. The Upper Corpse is divided into three, the Middle Corpse into three, and the Lower Corpse into three. The Upper Corpse, Peng Ju, attacks the upper part of a person, causing blurred vision, hair loss, bad breath, wrinkled face, and tooth loss. The Middle Corpse, Peng Zhi, attacks the five internal organs, causing a lack of willpower, excessive anger, a tendency to do evil, and disordered sleep. The Lower Corpse, Peng Qiao, causes restlessness in the lower body, agitation of the five senses, and an inability to control oneself. The Three Corpses are the Three Evils."

............

Three thousand years had passed in the blink of an eye, and everyone listened with rapt attention. Some frowned deeply, while others smiled. Clearly, their individual aptitudes differed, and their understanding of the Dao varied accordingly.

Many people ended up with a corpse inside the hall, which was unavoidable. The opportunity to gain enlightenment during this time was rare; if they hadn't made a decision then, they might not have had this chance for sudden enlightenment later.

However, the three corpses of good and evil that each person severed were different, and their cultivation levels also varied. Among them, Mosquito Daoist was the most eye-catching. This was because what he severed was obsession, and his cultivation level was only at the peak of Taiyi Golden Immortal, which made many people secretly scoff.

Everyone knows that the Blood Sea is rich in innate spiritual treasures, but Mosquito Daoist still used an acquired spiritual treasure to sever the corpse, which puzzled many people. Some people also thought that perhaps he didn't have time to think much at the time and just randomly took out a spiritual treasure to sever the corpse.

Aside from him, the six people in front were the most eye-catching. Each of them had severed a corpse, and their cultivation had all broken through to the mid-stage of Quasi-Saint. Moreover, the cultivation of their severed corpses was equivalent to that of their original bodies.

Yuanshi glanced at Mosquito Daoist. If there was anyone he harbored the deepest grudge against in Zixiao Palace, it would undoubtedly be Mosquito Daoist. The Three Pure Ones had always been high and mighty; when had they ever been the ones to be humiliated? What was most infuriating was that his disciple was also like that. Now, seeing the corpse Mosquito Daoist had severed, possessing only the peak cultivation of a Taiyi Golden Immortal, Yuanshi felt incredibly pleased.

"In the past three thousand years, I have finished expounding the method of severing the corpse, and you have all gained something. However, after the next sermon, I will be complete and will merge with the Dao. From now on, the Heavenly Dao will be Hongjun, and Hongjun will not be the Heavenly Dao. He will not appear in the world unless the time is right."

He then scanned the room again, and among the people inside, only Mosquito Daoist's abilities remained unclear. He had also seen the acquired spiritual treasure that had severed the Corpse of Obsession, but such an acquired spiritual treasure was no ordinary object. He didn't believe the other party could discern this, but he didn't dare to ask at the moment.

Upon hearing Hongjun's words, everyone present inexplicably breathed a sigh of relief. Each of them possessed great willpower; being constantly controlled would be an extremely painful experience.

Taking in everyone's expressions, Hongjun said again, "This sermon is now complete. Go back and study it carefully. Come back to listen to the sermon again in three thousand years."

Everyone bowed to him, even Mosquito Daoist. Although they didn't know why he would pass on the method of severing corpses to the prehistoric world, they had indeed benefited from it, as it was a method of becoming a saint that Hongjun himself had come up with.

The Three Corpses are not like Lao Tzu's One Qi Transforms into Three Pure Ones technique. Although they are similar in terms of cultivation, the Three Corpses clearly have greater potential for growth.

After Hongjun left, the group also headed outside. The method of severing the corpse, which had just been explained, required the use of precious objects. Although some of these people would certainly possess innate spiritual objects, severing the corpse still required three, which already posed a challenge for many.

As things stand, he believed the Three Pure Ones didn't possess that many. All three were proud and arrogant; how could they possibly use low-grade innate treasures? Unlike Mosquito Daoist, they didn't venture out to search for treasures during the Dragon-Han Calamity, but instead cultivated in Kunlun Mountain.

As for Jieyin and Zhunti, although they don't possess many top-tier spiritual treasures, Mosquito Daoist believes they have quite a few low- and mid-grade innate spiritual objects.

Styx and Lu Er had met before; this guy was born quite early. It's just unknown where they hid when Rahu occupied the West. They were truly lucky to have escaped Rahu's self-destruction.

"Brother, what is this?" Styx asked in confusion as they came outside. Why would Mosquito Daoist use an acquired spiritual treasure to sever a corpse? This puzzled him greatly, but he couldn't see anything special about this acquired spiritual treasure.

"I have my reasons for this, brother. Now is not the time to discuss these matters. Let's go back and go into seclusion to try to sever all three corpses." During this sermon by Hongjun, Styx also severed his evil corpse, using the top-grade innate spiritual treasure, the Twelfth Grade Karmic Fire Red Lotus.

The evil corpses he slashed also possessed the cultivation level of a mid-stage Quasi-Saint, similar to his own cultivation level. He had also told Styx that he should prove his Dao through the laws, so he had now comprehended 40% of the Law of Slaughter, thanks in part to Huang Zhongli's contributions.

The two of them, unlike the Three Pure Ones who had all broken through in cultivation, only possessed more powerful magical energy. However, he believed that once all three of their corpses—the Good and the Evil Corpses—were severed, their cultivation would also break through to the peak of Quasi-Saint.

However, upon returning, he will need to find a way to comprehend the power of laws as well. Otherwise, breaking through to the Primordial Golden Immortal realm in the short term will be out of the question.

Watching Mosquito Daoist and Styx leave, Tongtian said to Laozi beside him, "Brother, why did Beiming use a postnatal spiritual treasure to sever his corpse? I don't think it was a momentary oversight. How could he make such a basic mistake?"

"I don't understand this matter either. The three of us should go back first to sort out what the Dao Ancestor said, and then travel around the prehistoric world. The three of us only have one top-grade spiritual treasure, which we have already used to sever our corpses. If we can't find any others, then we will be even more distant from the Great Dao." Laozi frowned and thought for a moment before saying.
