"He's over there! Quick, grab him!"

Yinyin hadn't even opened her eyes when she heard this sentence.

The wind whistled in her ears. It was already late at night, and Yin Yin was wrapped tightly in her swaddling clothes. Even though she tried to open her eyes, something was blocking her view, and she couldn't see what the person carrying her looked like.

Suddenly, the man stopped, and he heard the sound of a sword being drawn.

Someone on the other side said, "Wei Twelve, leave the little princess here, and I can let you go. Otherwise... stealing the princess is a serious crime."

"So you're leaving it here to be handed over to the demonic cultivators?" Wei Twelve sneered. "If you want to fight, then fight! Why all the nonsense!"

“It is a good thing that the young princess was born into the royal family and can be loyal to His Majesty. What can you, a mere shadow guard, do to stop her? You are really asking for trouble.” The man attacked Wei Twelve directly, but was blocked by another weapon.

He narrowed his eyes: "Wei Shisan? What, are you Eastern Palace Guards planning a rebellion?"

“What rebellion? Huang Qi, how dare you draw your sword against the little princess? How could I not stop you?” Wei Shisan didn’t turn around. “Wei Shier, it’s so cold. Hurry up and take the little princess to a place where she can avoid the wind.”

Without the slightest hesitation, Wei Shier immediately retreated.

Yinyin heard many voices coming towards him, but was stopped by someone.

They quickly moved away from the battlefield, but Wei Shier dared not stop for a moment, speeding through the mountains and forests with Yin Yin, startling a flock of birds.

"Squeak."

At the mountaintop, in a house nestled among flowers and trees, someone pushed open the door.

The young man, still practicing in the darkness, sheathed his sword: "Master, is there something you need?"

The woman he called his master leaned lazily against the door frame: "The sect will have guests arriving. Xuan Guang, since you're not asleep, go and greet them."

The young Xuan Guang agreed and was about to leave when a crack appeared in the side window, revealing a pair of eyes from a boy who still had baby fat: "Master, Master, can I go too?"

Before his master could speak, Xuan Guang said in a cold voice, "Jing Yue, don't be ridiculous."

Jingyue stuck out her tongue, closed the window, and pretended to be asleep.

Xuan Guang ignored him, bowed to his master, tossed the spirit sword in his hand into the air, and flew away on his sword.

When Xuan Guang arrived, Wei Shier, with Yin Yin, had just reached the mountain gate.

Xuan Guang stood with his hands behind his back: "Who goes there?"

Wei Shier asked cautiously, "Immortal, are you a disciple of Venerable Ruoshui?"

After Xuan Guang nodded, he untied Yin Yin and took out the token and letter: "I have been ordered by the Crown Princess to bring the little princess here."

Xuan Guang glanced at it, then with a flick of his sleeve, the token and letter disappeared from Wei Shier's hands, and Yin Yin's swaddling clothes were delivered to him by a gentle breeze.

"I will take her to see Master. You may leave now."

Seeing that Xuan Guang had such abilities, Wei Twelve respectfully bowed and left via the same route he had taken.

Xuan Guang looked at Yin Yin in his hands, removed the thing from her face, and met a pair of clear eyes.

Yinyin and Xuanguang exchanged a glance, and without fear of his cold expression, they gave each other a bright, toothless smile.

Xuan Guang's expression softened somewhat. He made a wind-avoiding hand gesture before flying back on his sword.

"Here he comes, Master, Senior Brother is back!" Jingyue caught sight of Xuanguang's figure, quickly turned around and ran to Ruoshui Venerable's side, standing obediently.

If his eyes weren't so bright and expectant, he probably could have successfully played the innocent role.

Xuan Guang carried Yin Yin into the house, explained what had happened, and then took out the token and the letter.

Ruoshui glanced at the token and opened it immediately.

Seeing her master reading the letter, Jingyue couldn't keep up the act any longer and tiptoed to try and peek into Xuanguang's arms.

Seeing this, Xuan Guang put on a stern face and quietly took two steps closer to him.

Jingyue smiled brightly and boldly tugged at Xuanguang's arm to look at Yinyin.

"So cute," Jingyue poked Yinyin's little face. "Master, how long will she stay in our sect?"

"We'll know once we see it," Ruoshui said, and Xuanguang sensibly placed Yinyin into her arms.

Ruoshui gently touched Yinyin's forehead with her fingertip, and the room immediately brightened, with ice flowers blooming on the swaddling clothes.

Ruoshui smiled and said, "It seems I can stay in the sect for a long time."

"Wow!" Jingyue exclaimed in surprise, "Her ice spirit root is so strong, isn't that the same as Senior Brother's?"

Xuan Guang's expression was gentle, but before he could speak, Jing Yue said again, "Senior Brother is cold enough as it is. If this child is a carbon copy of Senior Brother, Master, wouldn't our entire sect be frozen and snowy every day?"

Xuan Guang's face hardened, and his sharp gaze swept towards Jing Yue like a knife.

Jingyue shuddered and wisely shut her mouth.

Ruoshui found it amusing: "Alright, this child will be your junior sister from now on. But she's still too young; it will take her a few years before she can formally enter the sect."

Jingyue quickly forgot the oppressive feeling from her senior brother and patted her chest to assure him, "Master, don't worry, I will take good care of my junior sister."

"By the way, Master, what's Junior Sister's name?" Jingyue glanced at the letter curiously. "Does Junior Sister have some connection with your family?"

“This child’s nickname is Yinyin,” Ruoshui said. “Her mother is the only remaining blood relative of my family.”

"Oh, I see," Jingyue's eyes darted around, "Then... Master, if you take Yinyin as your disciple in the future, what should her mother call her?"

Xuan Guang couldn't resist and reached out to pat him on the head.

Jingyue cried out in pain, covering her head and pretending to cry as she whined to Ruoshui. Xuanguang stood to the side with a stern face, his disdain barely concealed.

Holding Ruoshui, Yinyin felt the demonic voice piercing her ears. She looked at Xuanguang, hoping he could save her.

Whether Xuan Guang understood her gaze or not, he took the initiative to pick up Yin Yin and said, "Master, it's late. I'll take my junior sister to settle down first."

Away from the noisy environment, Yinyin yawned, clutched Xuanguang's clothes, and fell into a deep sleep.

Before falling asleep, Yinyin was still thinking.

Xuan Guang and Jing Yue felt very familiar to her, but she had never met them before. Why did she have this feeling?
