The streets were bustling with people and lined with colorful lanterns.

Although this was Yin Yin's second Lantern Festival in the capital, it was the first time she participated in this grand event without considering anything else, simply for the sake of having fun.

Yin Yin and her brother escorted Yu Miaoqi to the private room they had reserved earlier, and then diligently ordered food to be delivered before they went out to the market.

"Brother, it's still early. Shall we go and win a lantern for Mother?"

Zhan Zheng readily agreed: "It'll come in handy when you're going to perform the 'Hundred Diseases' ritual later."

Under the protection of the old woman and servants, the two slowly searched for the lanterns that interested them. Before long, Yin Yin took a liking to one.

"Big brother, look at that!"

Zhan Zheng looked in the direction she pointed and soon spotted a lantern shaped like a blue phoenix, which was hung in a conspicuous place as a signboard.

That lantern looked a little larger than the other hand-held lanterns, but it was very exquisitely made, with very vivid patterns. It shone brightly under the light, no wonder it was placed in a conspicuous place and caught Yin Yin's eye at a glance.

However, placing it in a prominent spot as a signboard means that this lamp must be very difficult to obtain. Zhan Zheng asked, "Are you going or should I go?"

"Let's see what the question is first." Yin Yin felt confident that she could solve a simple word puzzle. Although she lacked talent, she could still make perfect couplets if they weren't too difficult. She just didn't know what kind of question the boss had given.

As Yinyin walked over, someone else happened to take a liking to the lamp and came over to inquire about it.

The stall owner said, "This lamp has already been won by someone, but it will remain here for the time being. However, that young master also left a poem, saying that if someone can complete the last line of the poem with a score almost equal to his, then it will be a matter of fate, and he will be able to offer this lamp to him."

"That's an interesting idea," Yin Yin said, giving up her desire to get the lamp when she heard the next sentence, "not much left." After all, who can read someone else's mind and think exactly the same way they do?

Zhan Zheng, however, stopped her with interest: "Let's listen first."

Since he said that, Yin Yin naturally stayed behind, waiting for the stall owner to speak.

The stall owner had been quite loud, and people around gathered around at once upon hearing this novel approach.

The stall owner cleared his throat before saying, "The title of the poem left by that young master is 'Qing Yu An,' and the completed poem is 'The east wind releases a thousand trees of flowers at night... I searched for him a thousand times in the crowd.'"

Upon hearing the poem, Yin Yin's expression changed slightly, and she frowned. It was such an obvious poem; one look was enough to tell who had written it. She glanced at the lantern again, now completely devoid of any desire to get involved.

Although among the people present, apart from the stall owner who had been informed in advance, perhaps only she knew the answer.

"And then?" As soon as the stall owner finished speaking, many scholars who were pondering the poem seemed to be scratching their heads in frustration. "Why did it suddenly stop?"

The stall owner quickly smiled apologetically: "This last question is exactly what you have to answer to win the lantern, so I dare not say any more."

Then everyone remembered that there was also the matter of lanterns, and they immediately began to think about it with great interest.

"Big brother," Yin Yin tugged at Zhan Zheng, indicating that she didn't want to stay here any longer.

Although Zhan Zheng also wanted to stay and take another look, his younger sister was more important after all. He accompanied her out and then asked, "What's wrong? Are you not used to seeing so many strangers?"

Yin Yin never liked going to crowded places when she attended literary gatherings before. Now that she had encountered such a beautiful poem, she didn't want to stay any longer. Zhan Zheng naturally guessed that she might be feeling unwell.

Yinyin thought for a moment and whispered, "Yes, there are some. There are too many strangers around, and I feel a little stuffy."

Zhan Zheng, unsuspecting, said, "Then let's walk around some more."

The two walked forward slowly, and Zhan Zheng said with some regret, "It's a pity that we couldn't win the lamp you liked earlier. I thought about it several times, but I still felt it was not a good match."

“Even if we are a perfect match, it won’t work,” Yin Yin said. “The person who set the question said that we must write exactly the same thing as him to win. It’s obvious that he doesn’t want someone else to take his lamp away.”

“If we stay any longer, we won’t be able to guess what others are thinking, and we might even miss the time we agreed on earlier. In that case, it’s better to leave sooner so that I can choose another lantern!”

“You’re right,” Zhan Zheng laughed. “If you’re going to continue, you can go back and think about it slowly, but it’s difficult to write something exactly like someone else’s. The person who left this poem doesn’t seem to be leaving the lanterns for a destined person; it’s more like they’re looking for someone.”

It's just about finding someone.

Suddenly turning around, I found him where the lights were dim. This is the ending of the poem, and also the effect created by the person who wrote it.

If the poem matches, they are kindred spirits, but also "fellow villagers" to be wary of. If it doesn't match, the person still shines brightly at the Lantern Festival with this poem, and afterwards, everyone admires his talent for writing poetry and lyrics.

What a good plan.

There were many lanterns at the lantern market, and the brother and sister quickly found a lantern with five blessings surrounding longevity and won it. Although it was not as special as the bluebird lantern they had just seen, the meaning was good, and the brother and sister were satisfied. They then ordered someone to send it back to Yu Miaoqi.

Zhan Zheng quickly took a liking to a Xuanwu lamp, while Yin Yin searched through most of the lantern market before finding a lamp shaped like a nine-tailed fox.

Unfortunately, just as the siblings arrived, they saw the stall owner take the lamp down and hand it to a man.

A gentleman does not take what others like, but Yin Yin couldn't help feeling a little disappointed. She couldn't get her hands on either of the two lanterns she had her eye on; her luck today was really not good.

"Brother, let's go look for something else."

“Miss Pan?” The man turned around, revealing a familiar face. “Brother Zhan is here too.”

Now that they were outside, Yin Yin thought for a moment and followed Zhan Zheng's address, calling him "Sixth Young Master".

The Sixth Prince's gaze fell on Yin Yin, and he quickly revealed a look of amazement: "I was thinking of accompanying Tenth Sister to find you later, but I didn't expect that we would meet at the Lantern Festival."

Yinyin looked up at him and asked, "Sixth Young Master, are you going too?"

Seeing that she had taken the initiative to answer him, the Sixth Prince's mood became a little more cheerful, but for some reason, he could only say dryly, "Yes."

Zhan Zheng closed his eyes briefly to compose himself, but before he could speak, the Sixth Prince spoke again.

"Miss Pan hasn't found a satisfactory lantern yet?"

Yinyin nodded and said, "Yes, there's not much time left. I need to go and check on him again, big brother?"

"Sixth Young Master must have other matters to attend to, so my brother and I will not disturb you any longer. We will meet again at Jade Bridge later."

"I won't bother you," the Sixth Prince said, as if he hadn't heard the last sentence. He picked up the nine-tailed fox lantern and said, "I don't have anything to do either. I'll just wander around with you and we can go together later."

"Finding a suitable lantern is not an easy task, and it may spoil the Sixth Young Master's mood for enjoying the lanterns."

“No,” the Sixth Prince said, as if he couldn’t understand Zhan Zheng’s polite refusal. He walked a few steps to the other side of Yin Yin, a gentle smile on his face. “Let’s go.”

Zhan Zheng gripped the lantern handle tightly, suppressing countless unspoken thoughts.
