Quick Transmigration: Survive to the End

Chapter 10 The Big Sister's Guidance

"gone?"

Shen Ruyin slowly sipped her tea before asking Qingzhi, who was peeking out the door.

Qingzhi quickly nodded, "Let's go, let's go. You were really something today, Miss! Look how angry the Second Miss is, her face is almost deformed."

Qingluo laughed at her description, but still asked Shen Ruyin, "Miss, you've made the Second Miss so angry, won't she go and complain to the Master?"

"Let her sue if she wants, but what can she sue for? That she took my things for herself, brazenly put them into my dowry, and then returned them to me?"

Shen Ruyin scoffed, "If we don't get rid of her quickly, who will have the patience to listen to her attempts to win people over and sow discord?"

"Whenever my older sister has something that neither she nor I have, she seems to have forgotten how she used to treat me. She comes over to act all affectionate with her younger sister, sows discord between me and my older sister, and urges me to ask for things."

"Although I don't consider myself a smart person, I'm not that stupid either."

"Miss, you've had a hard time," Qingluo and the other woman felt sorry for Shen Ruyin as they recalled the past. Qingzhi even rushed to change her tea.

Qingluo quickly stepped forward to massage her shoulders, saying, "Now that the young lady's marriage is settled, it's like the clouds have parted and the moon is shining brightly. There's no need for her to defer to the second young lady anymore."

Shen Ruyin shook her head. "I hope so."

The little argument between the two was like a leaf falling into a lake, leaving nothing but a few ripples.

The family's thoughts are now focused on the eldest daughter becoming the legitimate daughter and preparing for her entry into the palace for the imperial concubine selection next spring.

The second young lady was naturally furious, but even her aunt didn't dare to speak up at this time. She could only keep the words of advice to herself and let Shen Ruyin have a peaceful period of time.

After some time, when things gradually calmed down in the mansion, the eldest young lady called her maid to deliver a message, saying that she had received some new tea and snacks and invited her to have some with her.

Upon hearing this, Shen Ruyin naturally didn't delay and immediately went out.

"Big sister, you..." Shen Ruyin turned into the room and started to greet people with a smile, but when she looked up, she met an old nanny with a stern face. She swallowed the rest of her sentence and straightened her posture again. "Granny Rong is here too."

Logically, since Shen Ruyin was not taught by Rong Momo, she shouldn't be afraid of her. However, she was quite intimidated by the name Rong Momo when she was a child.

Although it wasn't the same person, they both had the same serious and stern face; who wouldn't be confused by that? So ever since Rong Momo was invited to teach the eldest young lady manners, Shen Ruyin tried to come as little as possible.

What Shen Ruyin didn't notice was that upon seeing her sudden change of expression, both the eldest daughter and Granny Rong revealed a hint of amusement in their eyes.

"Third sister is here," the eldest daughter called Shen Ruyin to sit down next to her. Immediately, a clever maid brought over a plate of pastries. "These are the new Chrysanthemum Pastries that Rong Mama instructed the kitchen to make. Come and try them."

Shen Ruyin looked in the direction she indicated, and at first glance, she thought it was a few golden chrysanthemums on a light blue plate. But when she got closer, she realized they were fried chrysanthemum pastries. They were just so meticulously made; the curvature and color of each petal were just right.

“It’s so pretty,” Shen Ruyin quickly sat down, gently picked a flower, caught it in a small porcelain dish, and took a bite.

"It's so delicious! You're amazing, Granny!"

Sensing her undisguised praise, Rong Momo's expression softened somewhat. "It was just a few words of advice; I don't deserve such praise from the Third Miss."

"The nanny is capable. Without her, our household would not be able to produce such exquisite food."

The eldest daughter also spoke up, "Ruyin is right. This is all thanks to the nanny, so please don't refuse."

Only then did Rong Momo accept the praise, bow and step back, giving the two sisters some space to talk.

Shen Ruyin waited until she left before putting down the plate, dabbing her lips with a handkerchief, and asked, "Big sister, did you call me here today for something?"

"If there was nothing else, why couldn't I have called you here?" The young woman smiled again when she saw that she was eager to explain. "But you guessed right, I did call you here today because I have something to tell you."

Shen Ruyin breathed a sigh of relief, then feigned a hint of reproach, "Big sister!"

"Alright, alright, I won't argue with you anymore," the eldest girl pushed the plate towards her. "I know about how Second Sister came to you earlier and you made her leave in a huff."

Shen Ruyin was taken aback and glanced at the eldest girl. "Who's so bored that they would tell you such a trivial matter?"

"It's good that I know now," the young lady said calmly, smoothing the tassel on the hem of her dress. "Before, we could only give in to her or let her back down on her own, but now..."

The young woman's gaze returned to Shen Ruyin. "You did very well this time, but it's not enough."

That look in his eyes!

Shen Ruyin rarely felt the aggression emanating from her older sister. Coupled with the young lady's appearance, if it weren't for her rationality holding her back, she probably would have wanted to rub against her sister and get close to her.

“We are all sisters, and if we do certain things, it will inevitably affect us. So, I have another brilliant idea.”

"What idea?" Shen Ruyin had a vague premonition that something was wrong, but she quickly dismissed it.

“I have spoken to my father and mother. From now on, you will learn from Granny Rong with me.”

"What?" Shen Ruyin asked instinctively.

Seeing the unwavering smile on her older sister's face, Shen Ruyin knew that the matter was definitely settled.

She blinked and asked cautiously, "Is Second Sister coming too?"

“How could that be?” the eldest daughter said slowly. “Wasn’t she upset that I had something she didn’t and that’s why she came to you? Now we both have it in the mansion, but she doesn’t. Knowing her temperament, she’s bound to be angry for a long time.”

"You should also remember in the future that dealing with people who displease you personally not only leaves a trace, but also makes you look bad."

"If you can find her weaknesses and use open strategies to your advantage, you can be open and honest and have nothing to fear."

"Thank you, elder sister. I've got it." Although Shen Ruyin was worried that Rong Mama was too strict, she knew that she could benefit more from learning from Rong Mama. Of course, she wouldn't let her elder sister down. She quickly adjusted her mindset and prepared to study with the eldest young lady.

However, she was still a little curious, "It's easy to talk to Mother, but how did my older sister persuade Father?"

“I will definitely enter the palace in the future, and you will be the daughter-in-law of the Marquis of Anping. As for my second sister, she will marry a scholar who needs to rely on his family to get promoted.”

"Ruyin, you must remember this: Father may favor Consort Xu and her daughter, but he is also the head of our Earl's Mansion."

The older sister's expression became unreadable. "He always chooses what's best for him and what's most advantageous for him."
