The two entered the sleeping museum one after the other.

Moonlight streamed through the broken doors and huge arched windows, casting dappled shadows on the ground.

The air was thick with dust and the smell of rotting old paper and wood.

In the empty hall, the outlines of various exhibits covered with dust cloths were displayed, appearing shadowy in the dim light, like lurking ghosts.

The green light of the Ultimatrix on their wrists intensified, the buzzing became more rapid, and the beam of light from the core of the dial pointed straight at the ground beneath their feet like a laser.

Xiao Ban squatted down, pointed to the cool, smooth marble floor under his feet with his finger, and looked up at the direction indicated by the green light. His voice carried a hint of helplessness and a trace of barely perceptible tension.

"It's right below us... Does it have to be a gloomy basement of a museum?"

The two groped around in the empty, deathly silent exhibition hall, searching for the entrance to the underground.

The sound of footsteps echoed faintly in the empty hall, adding to the eeriness of the place.

Finally, in an inconspicuous corner piled with junk and broken exhibit models, they found a heavy metal trapdoor embedded in the floor. The doorknob was covered with a thick layer of dust and rust.

Mo Bai forcefully pulled open the trapdoor, and a stronger, cold, damp smell mixed with rust rushed out. A steep, narrow, bottomless stone staircase led down into an impenetrable darkness.

Xiao Ban took a deep breath and raised his left hand. In his palm, the purple celestial energy, like an awakened spirit, gathered and coalesced, eventually forming a stable, flexible sphere of light that emitted a faint purple glow.

Although the light was not strong, it was enough to dispel the nearby darkness and illuminate the slippery stone steps and mottled walls.

Like someone holding a mysterious lantern, she took the lead on the stairs leading to the unknown, with Mo Bai following closely behind.

The stone steps spiral downwards, seemingly without end.

The air grew increasingly cold and damp, and icy water droplets condensed on the walls.

Only the purple orb in Xiao Ban's palm was the sole source of light and guidance in this deathly darkness.

Finally, they stepped onto the solid ground of the basement.

It was more spacious than I had imagined; it was more like a huge, forgotten storeroom.

The air was almost still, and dust particles floated slowly in the purple halo.

The red light of the Ultimatrix on his wrist was almost solidifying, and the buzzing reached its peak as the beam of light pointed straight at a wall deep in the basement.

The two followed the directions.

Under the glow of the purple sphere, a strikingly out-of-place "exhibit" hangs on the wall—a huge, disc-shaped object, almost half the height of a small classmate.

It is made of some dark, unidentified material that is neither gold nor wood, and its surface is covered with traces of time and dirt that is difficult to remove.

Most striking are the edges and center of the disc, densely etched with countless bizarre, twisted symbols.

These symbols are not any known script; they exude an ancient, mysterious, and even... unsettling aura.

“That’s strange…” Little Ben leaned closer, the purple light illuminating the eerie symbols. She frowned, her voice filled with intense curiosity and doubt, “Are these magical symbols?”

Mo Bai also stared intently at the symbols, his brows furrowed.

His gaze was deep and focused, as if he wanted to decipher something from these unknown patterns.

After a moment, he shook his head: "I've never seen one before. Maybe I can take a picture of it and send it to Xiaowen."

He hasn't finished speaking yet.

The younger children, standing to the side, could no longer contain their boundless curiosity.

Seeing that Mo Bai was still studying it, she couldn't help but stretch out her left hand, with a childlike impulse and adventurous spirit, and press it directly onto the cold center of the huge compass.

The instant her palm touched the center of the compass.

The previously dull and lifeless engravings in the center of the compass suddenly seemed to come alive.

A faint, yet condensed, deep purple energy stream, like a cold, venomous snake, suddenly shot out from the center of the compass without warning.

It ignored Xiaoban's hand and went straight into the Ultimatrix watch face on her wrist, which also emitted a green light!

“Ouch——!!!”

Xiao Ban let out a short, painful scream! An indescribable burning pain, like an ice needle piercing her bone marrow, shot through her entire body from her arm!

She jerked her hand back as if she'd been electrocuted, staggered back two steps, and clutched her still-painful wrist.

Almost at the same moment the little boy let go!

The enormous compass shuddered violently! The entire surface of the compass erupted with a blindingly deep purple light!

The light was so intense it was almost tangible, instantly illuminating the entire gloomy basement in an eerie way!

Countless purple energy patterns moved wildly across the compass surface as if they were alive.

Even more chillingly, under the intense purple light emanating from the compass, the air around the previously empty ground began to distort violently like ripples on water!

Seven or eight figures appeared as if they had materialized directly from the void, appearing around the two without warning! They appeared like ghosts, instantly surrounding Mo Bai and Xiao Ban in the center.

These figures were all dressed in uniform, close-fitting, matte black armor that covered their bodies completely, outlining their lean and powerful lines.

Their heads were completely covered by bizarrely shaped, full-coverage helmets of the same material, without any gaps or reflections, making it impossible to see their faces.

Only the helmet's eye area flashed with two cold, emotionless red dots, like the pupils of a hellish demon!

The entire basement was instantly enveloped by a cold, hostile killing intent!

Mo Bai and Xiao Ban's pupils suddenly contracted, and their hearts jumped into their throats! Almost simultaneously, the two of them stood back to back, their bodies tense, assuming a fighting stance, and warily scanned the suddenly appearing black figures that exuded an extremely dangerous aura!

However, their vigilance did not seem to cause the other party to hesitate in the slightest.

The seven or eight men in black armor seemed to have received a unified attack command and activated instantly.

Their movements were as fast as ghosts, accompanied by a shrill whistling sound that tore through the air, like black lightning striking its prey, as they pounced on Mo Bai and Xiao Ban from all directions—they had just managed to stand firm.

Too fast! Too close!

Mo Bai and Xiao Ban didn't even have time to make an effective defensive or counter-attack move!

boom!boom!

Two dull thuds rang out almost simultaneously!

A tremendous impact struck! The two felt everything go black before their eyes, as if they had been hit in the chest by a speeding truck, and their bodies were thrown backward uncontrollably!

Mo Bai and Xiao Ban fell heavily onto the cold, damp ground.

The seven or eight black-armored men clung to them like maggots, giving the two no chance to catch their breath.

The instant the two men fell to the ground, their cold, armored hands, carrying immense force, pressed down firmly on their shoulders, arms, and chests! Like heavy iron clamps, they pinned them to the ground, unable to move!
