For a moment, Zhou Yan was at a loss for what to do.

But he composed himself and said to the three people behind him, "Let's go."

Feng Ning watched the group leave, a hint of amusement in her eyes.

"Gu Wenlang's hand is stretched quite far."

Duan Menghua glanced at her curiously, but didn't ask any questions.

Yao Feibai naturally understood what she meant.

The fact that the Discipline Hall is doing something so irregular indicates that there's something fishy going on.

He was also surprised that Gu Wenlang could get the people from the Discipline Hall to do things for him. It seemed that things were getting more and more complicated, he thought.

Zhou Yan and his group went straight back to the Discipline Hall. Inside the Discipline Hall, the deputy hall master, Feller, was sitting on a high platform with his eyes closed and his expression dignified.

After Zhou Yan entered, he knelt down and bowed, saying, "Vice Hall Master, your disciple has returned."

Feller nodded with his eyes closed. "Mm."

Upon opening his eyes, he did not see the woman in the main hall.

"What about people?"

Zhou Yan frowned. "Hall Master, this matter does not comply with the rules of the Discipline Hall. Are we really going to do this? Feng Ning is the Fourth Elder's personal disciple, we..."

Feller slammed his fist on the table. "Useless! You can't even catch one person. What use are you? How dare you try to interfere with this elder? Zhou Yan, do you want to die?"

Zhou Yan kept his head down and did not reply.

Feller was furious. "Where are you?"

"She refuses to come."

"They refuse to come? Can't you just kidnap them? Don't forget you're a disciple of the Discipline Hall. They broke the rules, so it's perfectly reasonable for you to arrest them."

"But so far, we have not received any evidence that she violated the rules."

At this point, his expression became even more resolute, and he looked up at Feller.

“Even if she violated the sect rules, according to the sect’s regulations, when a direct disciple violates the sect rules, the sect leader and elders need to jointly assess and punish her. You can’t just bring her here based on your word.”

Feller slapped him directly with his palm.

Zhou Yan had no time to react and was sent flying by a palm strike, crashing into the wall and spitting out a mouthful of blood.

Feller moved closer and grabbed his neck. "Zhou Yan, I only promoted you because you're obedient. But if you don't even have the virtue of being obedient, what use are you to me?"

Zhou Yan was almost out of breath and could only keep trying to pry his fingers open, without any strength to resist.

The other three knelt on the ground, not daring to speak.

They also felt something was wrong, but they dared not resist and could only watch helplessly as Zhou Yan was choked by Feller.

Just as he was about to be strangled to death, Feller finally let go.

"roll!"

Zhou Yan immediately breathed a sigh of relief and took deep breaths of fresh air.

There was a hint of relief in his eyes, but more than that, there was sorrow for himself.

He was just an ordinary disciple. He was almost strangled for speaking up for others, let alone making decisions.

Feller returned to the platform, and the four of them quickly withdrew.

After the four people left, a person came out from the back room.

If they were here, they would recognize this person as Gu Wenlang, an inner disciple.

Gu Wenlang watched the four people leave with a gloomy expression, his heart filled with resentment.

When he turned to look at Feller again, there was a hint of dissatisfaction in his eyes.

"Master Fei, your subordinates are really useless."

Feller glanced at him. "That's none of your business."

"I'm just reminding you that disobedient dogs should be killed promptly."

"He's still useful; it's too early to kill him now."

Gu Wenlang turned his head and said, "Whether they are useful or not is not my concern. I just want to know when you will be able to get rid of them."

Ferrer stroked the armrest of the chair. "Since they want evidence, then produce the evidence. Since they want a fair trial, then give them a fair trial."

Gu Wenlang frowned. "Are you sure this will work?"

"That's a question for you. Are the pieces you have in your hand actually useful to you?"

Upon hearing this, Gu Wenlang's brows relaxed again. "The elder is right. Let's give them a fair and square opportunity."

While the two were discussing this, Feng Ning and the other two were also discussing it.

Duan Menghua said with some concern, "Since they came once, they'll come again. We can't just fool them every time."

“Of course not.” Feng Ning shook her head.

“They’ll be coming back soon,” Yao Feibai replied.

Duan Menghua watched the two of them playing a game of charades and felt completely out of place.

Feng Ning asked, "Has there been any news from Liu Yuanxiu? I sent him a message, but he hasn't replied."

The two shook their heads.

"The messages we sent out all disappeared without a trace."

The three of them were silent.

Hopefully things will go more smoothly on his end.

On the third day, more people came to Xiaoyao Peak.

Feng Ning raised an eyebrow. "It's you again, Senior Brother Zhou. Did you find any evidence this time?"

Zhou Yan looked at her with a complicated expression. "Come with us. The sect leader and elders are waiting in the main hall."

Feng Ning smiled and said, "It's caused quite a stir."

Then he waved his hand and said, "Let's go then. I also want to meet the person behind this. After all, they went to great lengths to plan this, so I should give them face."

Zhou Yan's eyes flickered, but he didn't say anything.

Feng Ning ignored them and walked towards the main hall first.

When we arrived at the main peak, there were already many people gathered there.

These people all came to see what was going on, some having heard about the incident, and others simply to see the spectacle.

After all, everyone knew that the Fourth Elder had suddenly and publicly accepted a disciple.

Now that they heard that Feng Ning had made a mistake, everyone else was naturally overjoyed and wanted to see him make a fool of himself.

Feng Ning ignored everyone's gazes and went straight into the main hall.

The sect leader sat at the head of the table, with the First Elder Zhong Nian and the Third Elder Zhu Kangle on either side.

Next are Elder Yu Hongzhi of the Alchemy Peak, Elder Lian Tiancheng of the Weapon Refining Peak, and Elder Ji Mingzhi of the Talisman Peak.

As well as the deputy peak masters and elders from other peaks, some came and some did not.

In the hall, Duan Menghua and Yao Feibai were already standing there.

Feng Ning walked in and bowed to the person in the head seat.

"This disciple greets the sect leader and all the elders."

The sect leader nodded. "Rise. No need for formalities."

"Thank you, Sect Master."

The sect leader turned to Zhong Nian and said, "Elder, you should handle the matter concerning the Discipline Hall."

Zhong Nian turned to look at Feller, "Elder Feller, you said someone reported that your personal disciple disregarded human life and wrongly killed an innocent person. Is everyone here now?"

Ferrer bowed respectfully and said, "Reporting to the Master, everyone has arrived."

Zhong Nian nodded, "You've handled all of this, so you'll be in charge from now on."
