After seeing Xiao Qi'an off, Chu Yun finally had a moment of peace and quiet, but soon someone came to her door—it was Chu Wenshu.

He stood at the doorway like a wooden stake, carrying a box, without saying a word. If Xiaobai hadn't run out to play and Chu Yun hadn't gone out of the bedroom to look for her, and happened to see Chu Wenshu at the door, she really wouldn't have known when she would have realized that Chu Wenshu had arrived.

She pulled Xiaobai into her arms, gently stroking its fur, her eyes glancing at the figure at the doorway, her voice turning cold, "What are you trying to do, following me here?"

Noticing Chu Yun's suddenly cold gaze, Chu Wenshu felt a little aggrieved. Although he didn't remember anything after waking up, he had never suffered a loss thanks to his good looks and skills. On the contrary, many people liked him. But Chu Yun disliked him and wouldn't even look at him, as if he were something dirty.

Chu Wenshu bit her lower lip and lowered her voice, "I want to be friends with you. This is food I made myself. I hope you will accept it."

The tall, slender boy, with a body like a green bamboo, gazes at you expectantly with downturned eyes and a hopeful look in them, like a big, well-behaved puppy. No one could bear to disappoint him.

Unfortunately, Chu Yun was cold-hearted and said, "I don't want to be friends with you. Take your things and leave immediately."

After saying that, she turned and left without looking back.

Chu Wenshu's lips moved as if he wanted to call out to Chu Yun, but seeing her so resolute, his throat felt like it was stuffed with cotton, making it so uncomfortable that he couldn't utter a single word. However, he did not leave, but stubbornly stood there, motionless.

As darkness fell, the temperature dropped rapidly. A biting wind blew against Chu Wenshu, making him shiver. Even so, he still stood in the wind with the food box in hand, not even bothering to avoid the cold wind.

When it was time for dinner, the maidservant, carrying a food box, gave Chu Wenshu a strange look before walking past him into the room and bringing out the food. "Miss Wen, it's time for dinner. The young master specially instructed the kitchen to prepare black chicken soup for you. Please drink it while it's hot."

After saying this, the maid gracefully withdrew, glancing at Chu Wenshu again as she left.

Chu Wenshu didn't care at all; a glint flashed in his eyes as he eagerly awaited Chu Yun's appearance.

In just a few breaths, Chu Yun came out of the bedroom. As soon as she came out, she felt two extremely strong gazes. Her relaxed and lazy expression disappeared, replaced by a cold face. She glanced at Chu Wenshu and asked, "Why haven't you left yet?"

"I genuinely want to be friends with you, sister," Chu Wenshu said in a low voice under Chu Yun's cold gaze.

Chu Yun remained noncommittal, raising her eyebrows slightly. "Whatever, you can stand wherever you want for as long as you like."

She gracefully sat down, picked up her chopsticks, and quietly began to eat.

She was undoubtedly very beautiful, and even while dining, she was as beautiful as a painting. Chu Wenshu stared at her, his gaze never wavering.

Feeling intensely watched, Chu Yun endured it for a while, but finally couldn't take it anymore. Feeling utterly disgusted, she put down her chopsticks, raised her eyes, and stared coldly at Chu Wenshu, "Do you want to die?"

Chu Wenshu shrugged and stammered, "I know that it was too rash of me to say I wanted to go home with you today, so I sincerely came to apologize and ask you to give me another chance."

With him watching over her, Chu Yun lost her appetite. She was certain that if this matter wasn't resolved today, Chu Wenshu would still come in the future, so it was better to cut the Gordian knot and send him away.

"Come in, let's have a good talk," Chu Yun said irritably.

Chu Wenshu was overjoyed. He moved his already stiff legs and trotted into the room. He stood in front of Chu Yun, hesitating before sitting down.

"Sit down," Chu Yun said. Now that they were inside, there was no need to keep him standing.

Chu Wenshu was even happier. He sat down with a smile and casually placed the food box on the ground.

"Is this the first time we've met?" Chu Yun asked.

"Yes," Chu Wenshu replied.

"We've never met before, why do you insist on following me? Didn't I say I didn't want to be friends with you? You're standing at my door and won't leave, are you trying to force me to be your friend?" Chu Yun bombarded Chu Wenshu with questions one after another, her voice growing louder and louder.

"No, no, no, that's not it." Chu Wenshu quickly denied, her face turning a little pale. "I just felt close to you when I saw you, so I wanted to follow you and be your friend. I'm not staying here to force you, but to let you see my sincerity. Sincerity moves mountains. As long as I persist, you'll see my good qualities and accept me."

Chu Yun laughed, "Making friends isn't like praying to gods or Buddhas. Where does the idea that sincerity will bring results come from? That's just nonsense."

"Xiao Xue told me this. She said that when you like someone, you should try to become friends with her, and it would be best to win her over through her stomach. You have to be persistent, and as long as you keep at it, you will get what you want." Chu Wenshu hurriedly said when he saw Chu Yun's denial.

Chu Yun looked him over and found that his eyes were clear and untainted, and his expression was anxious, as if he was afraid that Chu Yun would not believe him.

Unexpectedly, that Gu worm changed Chu Wenshu so much. The arrogant and unruly person who used to look down on everything has now turned into a little white rabbit.

"Who is Xiao Xue? Did she also give you a sachet?" Chu Yun pressed.

Chu Wenshu nodded, "Xiao Xue is the Third Elder's disciple. She often brings me food and she did indeed give me a sachet."

Chu Yun smiled knowingly.

Chu Wenshu remembered the purpose of the sachets and hurriedly said, "However, Xiao Xue said that she gave me the sachets only to thank me for letting her taste the dishes, and she didn't mean anything else. I returned all the sachets today. I'm not a bad person who deceives people."

"I see." Chu Yun nodded and asked with a smile, "Is Xiao Xue a good cook?"

Chu Wenshu thought for a moment, "It's delicious, but not as good as mine."

He raised his eyebrows, seemingly proud of his cooking skills, but quickly lowered his head, his tone aggrieved, "Unfortunately, all the dishes I made are cold, so you can't eat them."

Before Chu Yun could comfort him, he looked up again, a smile spreading across his lips. "But it's okay, I'll cook for you again tomorrow. What kind of food do you like? Is there anything you particularly like?"

He truly has the mindset of a young man, and his emotions change extremely quickly.

Chu Yun frowned. "I left you standing outside the door, and you're not angry at all? You even want to cook for me?"

"I'm not angry. These are all tests you've given me, and I will persevere." Chu Wenshu didn't care at all.

"Why? You said you liked me, why?" Chu Yun's eyes flickered slightly.

"I can't explain it clearly, but I feel happy and close to you when I see you, sister. I've said it several times, but you still don't believe me, sister?" Chu Wenshu said, somewhat dejected.

Chu Yun said calmly, "I never believe in feelings without a reason, but you have piqued my interest. I'll give you a chance. You can try and see if your persistence can earn my approval."
