Chapter 35 Leonai
With the departure of the main members of the Night Raid, the group of Infinite Ones in the room gathered together and began to plan their next move.
"Given all this, surely no one will have sacrificed themselves, right?" one of the Infinite Ones asked.
“It’s hard to say. The Imperial Arms users in this world are too powerful. I suggest staying far away from them, especially that female general of the empire. She’s practically inhuman. She even annihilated a powerful figure who had unlocked his genetic potential.” Another member described it with an incredulous expression.
"Our primary task should still be protecting those who participated in the night raid. As long as they live, the revolutionary army will surely win," someone suggested.
The Infinite Ones nodded in agreement, since they were no match for the Teigu users.
However, one member, sitting in a corner of the room, remained silent, quietly wiping his longsword.
“Friend, aren’t you going to join the discussion?” He Dong walked over; he seemed to be the leader of the group.
"I don't think there's any need for discussion. Rather than dealing with the forces in the capital, I prefer to deal with you first." His voice revealed a hint of disdain.
As he spoke, the longsword suddenly danced in the air as if blown by the wind, and a red skull pattern appeared on the back of his hand.
The Infinite Ones present changed their expressions drastically upon seeing the pattern, as if they had witnessed some ominous sign.
"Killers... No!!" A terrified scream rang out, but the Night Raid team, who had already left, was unaware of it, as their room was now shrouded in a mysterious barrier.
The man with the sword stood up, his eyes devoid of any pity. He swung his longsword, each swing striking the Infinite Ones present with unerring accuracy.
His swordsmanship was as fast as lightning, each strike deadly. The sounds of metal clashing and flesh being cut echoed in the room, but were quickly replaced by silence.
Shortly afterward, the man with the sword walked out of the room, while the other Infinite Beings inside had vanished without a trace.
The longsword in his hand seemed to still have a trace of undried blood, and his eyes revealed a coldness, as if nothing that had just happened was enough to cause him any emotional fluctuation.
"A group of garbage."
............
The central districts of the capital are always bustling with activity, with people coming and going and all kinds of shops lining the streets.
Amidst this bustling scene, a blue-haired woman sat on a bench by the street, holding an ice cream cone, enjoying a leisurely afternoon.
"Why don't you try some? It tastes quite good." The blue-haired woman, Esdeath, said softly to those around her.
She was walking alone on the street today, actually to lure out members of the night raid team.
However, no one responded to her. Esdeath looked around but found nothing unusual.
"How boring. I've been wandering around all morning, and it seems no one will take the bait." Esdeath muttered to herself, unable to sense any enemies, and could only give up in frustration.
On a distant rooftop, an agile figure leaped about—it was Leone, who had already transformed into a beast.
After using the Imperial Arms, she transformed into a woman with yellow hair and animal ears, the fluffy ears of which looked quite adorable.
Leone leaped onto a rooftop, lowered his aura to a minimum, and looked down.
"Is that Esdeath?" Leone wondered to herself, but then she felt a strong sense of fear.
She felt a chilling killing intent, which made her realize how naive she had been to even think of assassinating such an opponent.
Leone's senses were exceptionally sharp, and she decided to retreat. Facing such an enemy, she had no desire to fight; she knew that if she engaged, she would surely die.
Just as Leone was preparing to retreat, a black-haired man walked up to Esdeath and spoke to her for a few words.
Then, the man's gaze turned towards Leone.
Leone felt a tingling sensation instantly; that terrifying gaze was something she would never forget.
"I must escape immediately, or I will die." Leone had only one thought in her mind: to run away.
She jumped off the roof without hesitation and ran in the opposite direction. Even as she ran, she felt waves of heart palpitations, as if she were being locked onto by some dangerous gaze.
On the street, Lin Yu watched Leone leave. She actually wanted to fight Esdeath. She was really bold.
"She escaped." Esdeath said, glancing at Lin Yu as she ate her ice cream.
"I saw it, it's running very slowly," Lin Yu said calmly.
"After you've dealt with that kitten, remember to go support the Three Beast Warriors. It seems 'Night Raid' has already been deployed," Esdeath added.
"Understood." Lin Yu replied briefly, then his figure disappeared into the street.
.........
In the forests on the outskirts of the capital, the trees are dense, and sunlight filters through the gaps in the leaves, casting dappled shadows.
In this tranquil setting, Leone's figure moved like lightning, swiftly weaving through the trees.
"How can this monster still sense my threat?" Leone's heart pounded in her ears, but her steps were unwavering; she was already feeling extremely exhausted.
Although every tree and shrub in the forest served as temporary cover for her, allowing her to conceal her movements using these natural barriers, she could not shake off the lingering sense of danger.
“I have to find a place to hide,” Leone thought, “at least to get rid of that monster’s pursuit for the time being.”
Her eyes swept quickly around, searching for terrain she could use.
Suddenly, she noticed a winding stream not far ahead. The water was crystal clear, and the banks were covered with lush reeds and vines.
Leone moved swiftly and lightly toward the creek, carefully avoiding leaving any trace.
"She's quite good at hiding, no wonder she belongs to the feline family." Lin Yu had been watching Leone's every move from high in the sky, occasionally using his telekinesis to tease the sensitive lion girl.
As Leone dives into the water, letting the stream carry her along, she uses the reeds to conceal herself and minimize the ripples on the surface.
Leone swam along the current until she felt no threat, then gently stood up from the water. Her wet clothes clung to her body, revealing glimpses of her curves. After shaking off the water, she ran through the forest like a wild animal, using the trees and terrain to conceal her movements.
But that sense of threat resurfaced. This time, Leone didn't run away; she just stood there. She knew she couldn't escape; the person behind her had been toying with her all along.
"Come out, this is really annoying!" Leone stood in the dimming light, water droplets sliding down the curves of her body, her wet hair clinging to her neck.
"Tick-tock!" At that moment, it felt as if a surge of heat rushed into his heart. Lin Yu was injured, and it was an internal injury.
