Since the system became my girlfriend
Chapter 10 It’s embarrassing
"Oh my god... these people are so fierce, and they're even carrying knives... I'm too scared to go over there..." Feng Lixi exclaimed, then hid behind Su Rui, though her expression was slightly exaggerated.
"Don't worry, you just wait here, I'll take care of them!" Su Rui said with a smile. Although Feng Lixi's expression was a bit exaggerated, he didn't think much of it and assumed that the girl was just using the opportunity to act cute.
“Okay! Then I’ll wait for you here!” Feng Lixi said immediately, but the corners of her mouth kept involuntarily turning up, as if she was holding back a laugh.
Unaware of the danger, Su Rui was about to show off his skills to the girl, so he picked up his wooden sword and headed straight for a "level 1 monster". Since this was the newbie village, these "level 1 monsters" were all neutral creatures with yellow names.
In the setting of "Source", the relationships between characters are divided into four categories: friendly, neutral, indifferent, and hostile.
Needless to say, they are friendly. Like other green-named NPCs in other games, they will communicate with players, perhaps give out quests or provide services. Even if you attack first, they will scold you and lower your favorability. If you stop at this point, they will not retaliate. But if you continue to attack, the relationship between this NPC and you will turn into hostility.
A yellow-named NPC means that your relationship with him is neutral. He will talk to you, but he will not be enthusiastic. He will not attack you first, but if you dare to make a move, he will immediately retaliate.
An NPC with a light pink name indicates that your relationship with him is cold. Even if you try to chat him up, he won't pay attention to you. But if you give him a provocative look, he will beat you up immediately.
As for the hostile NPCs with red names, there's no need to ask. Once you enter their line of sight, they'll definitely grab a knife and come after you to fight.
To lower the barrier to entry and give new players an adaptation period, the monsters in the starting village are not hostile; their relationship with players is mostly neutral, with only a few being indifferent.
Soon, Su Rui arrived in front of a small monster and examined its attributes.

Rating: 1
Health: 100%
Since Su Rui doesn't possess any reconnaissance skills, this is all the information he can see.
Then Su Rui looked down at his attributes again. He had been so engrossed in complaining and flirting with girls that he hadn't even had time to check his own attributes when he first entered the game.
Name: That's me
Race: Native Human
Occupation: Beginner
Rating: 1
Health: 100
Mana: 100
Physical attack: 10+5
Magic Attack: 15
Physical defense: 12.5
Magical Defense: 12.5
Constitution: 5
Intelligence: 5
Agility: 5
Power: 5
Stamina: 5
Spirit: 5
Talent: Evolution (Native humans can evolve into other races, and this evolution cannot be reversed).
Skill: Critical Strike {Instantly deals 150% of attack power as damage to the target. Cooldown: 6 seconds (disappears after job advancement)}
As a level 1 alt, Su Rui's attack power is only 10 points initially. The remaining 5 points are from the bonus provided by the broken wooden sword in his hand. This gray weapon has only this many attributes.
Fortunately, besides the wooden sword, Su Rui also has an initial skill. Although the damage is not particularly high and there is a six-second cooldown, it is still a decent skill. Most importantly, this skill can reset the basic attack. If used properly, it can significantly increase damage.
After reviewing the attributes and skills, Su Rui took action. Since the monster was only level one and had a yellow name, Su Rui didn't take it seriously and casually slashed the monster's head with his sword.
-10
Su Rui's damage indicator appeared above the monster's head, and at the same time, the monster's name immediately changed from yellow to red. As the relationship turned hostile, the bandit monster also picked up its knife and slashed at Su Rui.
"Whoosh!" Su Rui instinctively dodged to the side.
-15!
Although Su Rui completely dodged the attack, the damage was still inflicted!
In the game "Source", the damage determination system is divided into two sets: one is PVP, which is player to player, and the other is PVE, which is player to NPC. In PVP, players are allowed to dodge non-targeting skills and damage by actively dodging. For example, if the opponent slashes at you, you can dodge to the side and the sword will not hit you, so you will not take any damage.
This results in ranged players having virtually no combat power in PvP before they learn the skill of locking onto targets, except for a few experts. This is because not everyone can be an archer; if you're far away, you might not even be able to hit the other person even if they don't dodge, let alone the fact that they can dodge.
In PVE, "Source" adopts a different damage judgment system, which gives players and monsters a very high damage judgment range. For example, Su Rui clearly dodged this attack, but the judgment range of this attack is three meters. This means that as long as Su Rui is within three meters of the attack's radius, regardless of whether he appears to have dodged or not, he will be judged as being hit and will therefore take damage.
The significance of this judgment system is to prevent a very small number of top players from taking advantage of their own advantages to fight high-level BOSSes at very low levels, and also to ensure that ordinary players are not completely unable to hit NPCs.
To put it simply, it's just a way to narrow the gap between ordinary players and top players, and to balance the game.
Therefore, in the game "Source", PVP mainly depends on skill, while PVE mainly depends on attributes. Of course, the real top players must be good at both.
But right now, Su Rui is only level one, and he only has a broken wooden sword. So he has no attributes, and his skills are ignored. Under these circumstances, Su Rui's chances of winning against a monster with level five elite attributes are almost zero.
"Brothers! Someone's causing trouble! Kill him!" But just then, the little monster in front of Su Rui suddenly shouted.
"Huh?!" In the short time that Su Rui was stunned, several bandits around him turned from yellow names to red names after hearing the shout, and then rushed towards Su Rui with knives in hand.
"Holy crap!" Su Rui suddenly felt everything go black before his eyes. Before he could react, he was hacked to death by several bandits.
Fortunately, there happened to be a graveyard not far from the bandit camp, where players could resurrect. Feng Lixi was already waiting at the graveyard entrance.
"Hey, aren't you a professional gamer? How come you can't even pass such a simple task!" Feng Lixi's words left Su Rui speechless. He had just been talking big, but he was ganged up on and killed by monsters as soon as he made a move. This was indeed a disgrace to professional gamers.
